  1. My buddy and I are doing our annual trek to the park for 5 days of fishing, camping, beer rental (on the site of course), great fires at night, star gazing and a bit of bocce ball while dinner is cooking! I took up the accoustic guitar back in January, so this year we are also going to do a bit of jamming. Man we have a blast every year. Every year my wife says "why don't you take me up there?" We catch mostly bass and pike with the odd walleye (avatar). Any fellow OFNer's going to be there next week?
  2. Hey Joe, did you see how close the clown came to us just to check out what I had on the line? What a "BASSHOLE"!
  3. Geez Wayne, I am really sorry about your loss. Your poor sister, what a terrible thing to happen.
  4. I have to disagree with you here. Canada Day is a celebration of our great nation and the freedom that we enjoy and are privilaged to have. If anything I don't think that Canadians are patriotic enough. If you drive through any community in the United States, you see the American flag flying on at least one in five homes. It would be nice to see more of that here. The pictures that you posted are a great encouragement to the younger generation of Canadians like the kids shown, to celebrate our great country! Stand up and be proud. Don't roll over and be another one of those complacant Canucks.
  5. Amazing fish! What body of water did you catch it on?
  6. He may have been a great entertainer and a great song writer, but he lost my vote back in the 90's over all of the court cases with the children. He was a guilty as OJ Simpson.
  7. Ziki, pass the can of worms would you? Thanks for opening it first!
  8. Try wetting it first before sticking it on. If the boat is out of the water and drym, spit into the cup and then press it on real hard. I use to have the same problem with my tinny that you are experiencing. This tip worked for me.
  9. TJ, the picture on the way into the camp looks like a photo from the movie Outbreak with the Bio suits!
  10. If you want to make a trip to the toy store BPS, their deep cycle batteries are excellent. I am on year 3 with mine and it still holds a good charge and runs my Minnkota for hours on end.
  11. I have another suggestion for you. Why don't you launch at the Key River and go out into GBay? My buddies and I did that on year 2 after going to the Pickeral the first year. We camped on Dokis Island which is only a few miles west of where the river drains into GBay. I think that the total distance was around 13 miles. The fishing is better and the scenary is unbelievable. You won't find anyone camping out there.
  12. If you are fishing west of Hwy 69 you are clear sailing all the way down to Wahnapitei Bay. If so, give me your email address and I can give you some more details. I have not been there for 20 years but do have some good stuff to share!
  13. Okay Rick, I counted 12 Ricks! How many are yours?
  14. I personally would take it to a mechanic and have it checked. I once had a "minor" underwater collision and left it alone. The slight vibration from a bent propshaft eventually worked its way right up to the crankshaft and cost me a bomb to have fixed.
  15. They are out in Newmarket which is very unusual.
  16. Paul at Topgun is very good. I highly recommend him.
  17. It's a beautiful boat Lew! Make sure to put a cloth between the motor support and the motor itself. Those plastic caps will wear the paint off of the lower unit in no time. I noticed that after trailering the boat just two times.
  18. Maureen, any place that specializes in selling chainsaws should have this gear as well. Try a Stihl dealer.
  19. Flappin, I have the mechanics manual for my 75 Merc. There is a section that talks about hooking up the cable to the motor. If you want it, let me know your email address. It is a .pdf file.
  20. Give me your email address Busher.
  21. Busher, do you have the hydrographic chart of the lake? There are s number of humps that you should try trolling over. Are you using downriggers or copper line to get the bait right down to the proper depth? Williams Woblers are usually a sure thing for lakers.
  22. Wayne, I think that you should change your avitar to this!!!!!
  23. I was in the wedding party for an old friend back in 1992 who lived in Barrie, and being a bunch of cottage buddies who all boated together as friends, we rented the Saren Dippity paddle boat for an evening booze cruise with some gambling. We had an absolute ball! The only problem was that the cruise ended after 2 hours and we did not know this at the time, so we ended up at the Ripper joint for a few hours. I would have rather had the evening end with a party someone, but it did not pan out that way.
