  1. Good to hear they located it for you Brian and hopefully the punks didn't do any damage to it.
  2. One of the main problems with being a musky fisherman is the baits are so darned big, it can be a probem storing and transporting them all the time. I converted my live well to a bait storage box and usually have anywhere from 70 - 80 bucktails in there, but I also use alot of large boo-tails anywhere from 10 - 13" long and was running out of places for them and couldn't find a decent box to carry them in, so I figured if I can't find what I want, I may as well build it. Nice easy project to build and the price was only a fraction of what a musky box big enough for these 35 boo-tails and large spinnerbaits would cost me. 22" X 13" X 14" with 1/4 inch rods to hang the baits on. The air holes are to allow circulation for the mariboo to dry when I'm done with them for the day. Still room to add a few more baits. And I even found some jewellery to decorate the box with It'll sit on the front deck right in front of the console and will be much easier now that I've got them all in the same place. Nuthin fancy, but it's a nice little project to work on and I thought some of y'all may be interested Next project is finding a spot for all the body baits
  3. This isn't gonna mess up our June musky trip is it ?? j/k Kirk, we'll work around it Congrats to you and the Mrs, having kids is the best thing you can do
  4. A 'tot' of rum was issued to all sailors of the Commonwealth Navies on a daily basis, but was discontinued a couple decades back. A sad day indeed for all sailors of her Majesties Senior Service At least they waited till after I received my discharge though
  5. Jim, Jack is indeed a good person who I've had the pleasure of meeting a couple of times. That carving will be a great reminder of your dog for many years to come. Awhile back I mentioned on this board that I was in the market for some plexi-glass and right away Jack PMed me to say that he had some he wasn't using and I was more than welcome to it. Some real decent folks hang out on this board
  6. Very nice indeed Jack, it came out perfectly !!
  7. Just as long as it's gone by June 19th Kevin, all will be good ??

Hey Roy, it's a good thing I didn't read your story earlier today as I just spent the last hour running wood thru the table saw. You woulda scared me away from the tackle box I'm building
  9. Happy Birthday Jack and all the best !!
  10. bass......what the "REAL" fish snack on
  11. I run my bowmount motor off 2 deep cycles at the front of the boat, and everything else, including 2 depthfinders, a radio, bilge pump, all the lights and all the guages off the cranking battery. I have an onboard charger for the 2 deep cycles, and the cranking battery is charged by the engine alternator. All 3 batteries are 7 years old, get used ALOT, and are still as strong as the 1st day. I think the most important thing is to be sure to always keep them fully charged. If I use my bowmount more than 30 minutes a day, I plug it in when I get back to the dock. And BTW, I've NEVER used distilled water in my batteries.......just good ole tap water and have never had a problem......touch wood
  12. I drove along Queens Quay yesterday and although there is ice in some areas, there's still open water in alot of places. Toronto Harbor Police did a TV segment 2 nights ago at their Rees St. station, just below the CN Tower, showing how unsafe the ice is by walking across it and breaking thru. Be careful folks if you decide to try it
  13. I herniated a disc in my spine in '99 which compressed the sciatic nerve and caused insane pains in my lower right leg. Before attempting surgery, I went thru physio & chiro to relieve the pain, and when that didn't work I tried several sessions of accupuncture. It did relieve a very small amount of pain, but not enough to really help. They said it did work very well on some patients, but often did nothing at all, as in my case, but I figured it was worth a try. Good to hear it worked well for you Cliff.

Lots to ponder there Jim ......but to continue ....... Why do we drive on a parkway, yet park in a driveway ??
  15. Usually though, most new folks wait till they've been members of this board for more that 2 weeks before they start trying to change something that's worked very nicely for quite a few years
  16. I'm getting the XL9....code 14XG....Great Lakes & Maritimes....probably tomorrow. Tanks boyz !!
  17. I saw that clip on CNN this morning Nelly, strange lookin critter fer sure !!
  18. GREAT license plate !! I was driving behind you this mornin.
  19. The C-3 is sorta like an old Chevy, nuthin fancy, but it always runs good. It's a decent reel to get you started and with a little TLC it'll last you a long time. The main draw back is rather than the thumb bar, the spool release is up on the top, but it won't take you long to get used to it. It's not real smooth, quiet, or pretty, but it'll serve you well till you save up the pennies for that shiny new Calcutta That's an excellent rod you bought too, BTW !!
  20. Quite possibly (likely) I'm wrong here, but I was in BPS the other day and I think I saw 6" Fin Bores for $42.......no idea what style handle it had though. I wasn't really paying attention to the ice gear, but I seem to recall that price, and they did have a sale on some ice gear.
  21. I've been calling around some more today and found a place close to home that sells them for $247 and that's the cheapest by far of any place I've called, so I'm gonna grab it there. Thanks boyz !!
  22. Thanks Brian
  23. Thanks BARE & Tomcat, I'll check into those. Brian, your link won't open, says it's not available
  24. I've been looking around Toronto for the best price on the Navionics Gold chip for the Eastern Great Lakes and the Dock Shoppe on Lakeshore East has them for $259 Anybody know a cheaper spot in T.O. ??
  25. Rich, check with TJ, BigFish, Spiel or Muskiestudd for the baits. ....those boyz are walleye wizards up there.
