  1. Hmmmmmm, that's too bad, he had a nice little tackle shop there and I bought quite a bit of stuff off him over the last few years. His musky baits were priced to match anybody.
  2. $150 and I'm tucked away high & dry in a Peterboro area barn for the entire winter. Snug as a bug in a rug Those wall boards aren't spaced as far apart as they look, just the way the sunlight is coming thru.
  3. Kennyman, the Bonnechere River comes out of Algonquin Park and travels all the way to the Ottawa River, after it passes thru a couple lakes. The Bonnechere Provincial Park is about 12 miles from where it leaves Algonquin, right at Round Lake. You can take your canoe and travel that whole beautiful stretch of river back toward Algonquin......... No homes, no traffic and just the odd deer camp along the route. My family had a deer camp on that river for decades.....you won't be disappointed.
  4. Beauties Mike, well done, you'll never go wrong fishing at sunset !! See you tomorrow
  5. sorry bout that Eric, I wondered where it all ended up
  6. Have a good trip Jon and nail a couple bigguns !! Don't forget the camera.
  7. Kinda nice with that strong wind that was blowing all night, it kept my place nearly snow free. There was no snow at all on my truck and the driveway was almost as clean. I went out an hour ago and it took me 5 minutes to get things cleaned up. Think I'll sit back now with another coffee, and watch all the traffic jams on the morning news
  8. I saw that on the TV awhile ago xrap, you guys are getting clobbered. Nothing in Toronto yet but it sounds like it's on the way. Guess we can't complain too much though, the news said Toronto has received the least amount of snow this year ever.
  9. Cliff, getting that phone call is an experience I wouldn't wish on any parent.
  10. I agree with you on Bonnechere PP Dave, it's the only provincial park I've ever stayed in but it was excellent. We were there in September a few years back and the place was nearly deserted. Fairly isolated from any large populations and we practically had the place to ourselves and the scenery is as good as you'll find anywhere.
  11. HH, my daughter was heading up the 115 late at night a few years back and caught her right front tire on the soft shoulder. It spun her car sideways, threw her across the road where she hit the center retaining wall head-on, then she got broadsided by a truck that was coming up behind her in the left lane. All this while she was doing 60 MPH The whole thing probably only took about 3 seconds and her car was comletely destroyed and it took the fire department 30 minutes to cut her free. Fortunately, the injuries weren't too severe due to the excellent design of the seatbelt and air bags, but it just shows how fast something terrible can happen. I pass by the spot several times each week between May & November and still shudder every time I think about what could have happened.
  12. Well done CC, good see you braving the elements, it's tough casting with frozen fingers !!
  13. Yup, that too Sheldon, infact over the years I've found my best bait for night time trolling on Quinte to be a Bomber Long "A", blue back with orange belly
  14. I'd definetely say someone was looking over your shoulder HH with it breaking like that, and not at hiway speeds with your family in the car. Sometimes a bad thing turns out to be a blessing in disguise.
  15. It's pretty good for Quinte pickeral in May too !!
  16. I was being sarcastic Cliff
  17. Maybe fasten a couple very sharp fish hooks to the back side of the door handles on your fish huts. Bet the punks won't try to break in a 2nd time.
  18. WTG Joey, your definetely on a roll this year, hope your buying lottery tickets too
  19. They'd probably be instand friends John, Marvin's never met another dog he didn't like.
  20. WTG John, good lookin pooch too
  21. We've had it good here in Toronto this winter as far as snowfall goes, I think the weather channel said we've had a grand total of 9 cm, while everyone around here has gotten clobbered. Kinda nice too, there's just too much traffic around here and it only takes a few inches to shut this town down. We've dodged a few storms, hopefully we'll duck this one too. The radio says we're only looking at about 10 cm for the Smoke....hopefully
  22. Very nice indeed Jim, looks like you were paying attention in class
  23. 1 o'clock on Thursday for me too.
  24. Thanks for that 007, that was an excellent read and it sounds like you truly enjoyed your 1st experience on the ice !! A few nice perch just made it all that much better
  25. Good to hear everything turned out as well as you'd hoped Gerritt, and it's always nice when you can meet up with a couple new OFNer's for a day of fish'n.
