  1. I've spent a huge amount of time in that area over my life and have never seen or even imagined it to be crowded like that....ever.
  2. Is this the Golden Lake up near Killaloe on hwy 60 ?
  3. I'm sure your pharmacy will deliver if you ask them, I'm 10 miles outside of town and can have everything delivered free of charge if I want it. I can also phone in an order then when I go to pick it up I call again from the parking lot and they'll bring it out to the truck for us.
  4. When the pharmacies 1st started only giving 30 days supplies instead of 90 my guy told me we'd have to pay the dispensing fee every month for each refill but that only happened once and now we only pay 1 fee every 3 months like it always was before, even though we still only get 1 month at a time. Maybe it's just my pharmacy but maybe check with you guy and see what he says.
  5. That describes Diane and I exactly Brian and we've often talked about how fortunate we feel to be in this position and feel really badly for so many folks who are concerned about what may be down the road for them.
  6. I just came in from cutting grass for an hour and said to my wife that we seem to have jumped from a cold wet spring to mid-July in a few days LOL
  7. When I lived in Toronto I bought 95% of all my musky gear at the Fishing Depot and always enjoyed yakking with Steve & his brother. After moving near Burleigh Falls 10 years ago I didn't need much more gear but a few years ago I wanted a new musky rod and Steve was too far away so I called Gagnons and got the price on what I wanted. On the way down I figured I'd stop in at Sail seeing as I'd never been there before and saw the same rod I wanted to buy for $150 MORE than Gagnons. I drove across the road to Gagnons, saved $150 and decided I'd never bother with fishing gear at Sail again.
  8. Anyone in particular you had in mind Brian ? LOL
  9. Those Princecrafts are nice boats Cosmos, I've had a couple friends with them and never an issue and all very happy with them.
  10. They interviewed someone on the news yesterday who was some type of aviation expert and he said a bird strike is a possibility but after studying the footage he couldn't see any bird bits blowing out the back of the engine which is often evident, but he wouldn't rule that out.
  11. The experts will let us know once they figure it out and they'll certainly want to know more than anyone.
  12. Looked like they were very low when he ejected too Brian, sure hope it turns out good. Been a lousy month for the Canadian Military with the 6 killed off Greece in the helicopter crash and now this.
  13. Just catching something on CBC and they don't even know the fate of the pilot yet.
  14. I had to run into town late Friday afternoon and hwy. 28 was the busiest it's been in a couple months. Until now I've really been enjoying the solitude LOL
  15. Thanks for the update MJIG, that's great news. I was by there yesterday and it was a very sad feeling looking at the place and thinking about how terrible it's been there the last couple months.
  16. A few years ago I was working in the yard and stirred up a whole ground nest of bees and was stung at least 40 times. Only took a minute to swat as many as possible away and get into the house but by then I was on the floor and couldn't even get up. My wife called 911 and I was rushed into emerg and spent 5 hours there getting fixed up. Worst darned experience I've ever been through and can't even imagine what it'd be like getting swarmed by these new Giant Hornets.
  17. If those cops actually complained about having to help the paramedics lift a body I'd be very surprised if a formal complaint wasn't submitted. Emergency crews always work as a team.
  18. ^^^^ so what's the big deal if they had to help lift a body, police, fire & paramedics work together all the time.
  19. Good video Brian. It was funny cause when he opened the lid to the tackle storage 1st thing that I thought was he probably only uses a couple of them then he said basically the same thing LOL
  20. Is that all ramps in the Kawarthas Terry, marinas and public ?
  21. I came across this article in today's Peterboro news paper asking folks who have cottages in the Kawarthas to stay home. Thought it may be important to some folks. https://www.thepeterboroughexaminer.com/news-story/9965846-video-appeal-made-to-kawartha-cottagers-to-stay-home-during-covid-19-pandemic/
  22. Lotsa worms on my front walk this morning.
  23. We spent 3 weeks touring the east coast last September and planned on taking that ferry but found out it was closed long term for upgrading but I just checked and it looks like it'll be opening pretty soon now. https://www.newscentermaine.com/article/travel/the-cat-ferry-service-is-back/97-ff936dac-2f52-4439-85d9-15b55b3f5aa5
  24. My folks always had a couple vehicles and the pick-up was used for camping / fishing trips. My Dad was very handy and built a camper on the back of the truck with log siding and with everything we needed inside. That was before campers became popular and there was often people come over to look at it. Sadly my Dad was buried 23 years ago yesterday.
