  1. My Dad bought a brand new 1961 Chevy pick-up for $1800. Now we pay that much for a new set of tires & a tank of gas ....well almost LOL
  2. My folks had a movie camera back in the day too Brian with 100's of feet of movies going back to the mid-50's. Years ago they had them all put together on big spools then a few years back my daughter had them all put on CD's and gave them to me as a gift.
  3. Thanks Bud, lotsa great memories in this old brain of mine.
  4. Actually, I think it was a burp LOL
  5. I was a lucky guy as I was born into a family that loved camping, fishing, hunting and anything to do with the outdoors, even my Mom was as much at home in a tent as she was in the house. I was born in November and the folks had me on my 1st camping trip the next June when I was only 7 months old. I don't remember starting to fish as it was something that basically happened as soon as I could hold a fishing pole and we always had a boat although not the one in this picture. This was taken about 1950 and I'm the little runt on your left with my brother and dad. Any of you guys remember the old flat bottomed wooden rowboats LOL
  6. Used to be like that with firemen back in the day too when it seemed most of us smoked. We'd come out of a hot dirty stinkin smokey fire and the 1st thing everyone did was light up a cigarette. Yeah, the good ole days LOL
  7. I worked with a guy who was big into staying in shape, worked out at the gym, was a weightlifter, rode many miles on a bike and only ate healthy food.....but as strange as it sounds, he was also a smoker. We were sitting in the firehall one day and I was eating a donut and he told me if I knew how unhealthy donuts were I'd never eat one again...and he was smoking a cigarette while he was telling me.🤣 I smoked for many years but quit cold turkey 30 years ago.
  8. ^^^^^ I knew there was a reason I never had any interest in taking up river fishing LOL ^^^^^
  9. Some may find this interesting
  10. I agree Cliff, that was just plain bad.
  11. A few of us rent cabins up on Nippissing every June and we've already called and cancelled abd re-booked for next year. I know it's not Crown Land camping but still an enjoyable week for us.
  12. Never been in a kayak in my life Dutch but every time I see one on the lake I think they look as if they'd be an enjoyable way to just cruise around a lake and take in the scenery.
  13. hmmmm, perhaps the 110,000 people that have died from the virus may have a different opinion.
  14. This is a Crestliner with a 90 Merc 4 stroke I bought back in '99 and it was an excellent boat & motor. Drove this one for 10 trouble free years then sold it to my bud and he's still driving it today. Crestliner makes a good boat.
  15. It sure seems somewhat encouraging.
  16. Thanks Woodsman, really interesting map.
  17. I average 1000 miles a month and I change my oil every 5000 miles or 6 months.
  18. In the 18 years I've been on this board there's been so many folks leave I couldn't even imagine how many. Some make a big issue about leaving while others just simply disappear into the night never to be heard from again. Some come back & some don't.
  19. OK thanks Chris, I spose if he ignored the signs there's not much he can do about it.
  20. I'm no lawyer but if the Premiers words are written in plain English saying parks will remain open, but some municipalities put their own spin on it and fine someone $750 for doing what the boss says is OK, there shouldn't be any problem beating it in court. And for $750 it's sure be worthwhile fighting it.
  21. If you go down a couple paragraphs it specifically says "green spaces such as parks" will remain open, but perhaps that's also been changed since this was written. https://toronto.ctvnews.ca/ontario-closes-all-playgrounds-sports-facilities-and-off-leash-dog-parks-1.4875261
  22. What exactly did he get the ticket for, from what I understand it's still legal to be in a park unless signed otherwise and your not using any park equipment including benches. Seems really strange he'd get a ticket for simply being in a legal place.

    Muskey Men

Usually around 20'-25' back Bill, sometimes closer and I've even got fish within 5' of the prop. Seems like the bubbles from the prop really stir the fish up. Also works well with side rods pointed down and very little line out with some fish hitting right at the transom. Same deal with big heavy spinnerbaits too, specially over heavy weeds. Fast speeds and 90 degree turns really speed up the baits when they're in tight and that often brings some great hits.
  24. Sux for sure Dan, my daughter is over 100 miles from us and 3 weeks ago she was in the hospital for a week, then home for a week, then back in hospital for another week. Weren't allowed to go see her and now that she's home we still can't see her. No idea when this will all end but hopefully...for all of us...it'll be sooner rather than later. BTW, cute kids Dan and congrats on the addition of the new member.
  25. Nothing to do with valued insight, I just have no use for folks who think they're more important than others.
