  2. Nice boat there boyz, congrats !!
  3. Dad, son, a couple pooches and a bonfire...excellent
  4. They were some good times back then Gerritt !!
  5. I know a lady with Lyme Disease Gerritt and it's a nasty thing. I'd go see the doc and have it checked just to be safe.
  6. When your putting new line on a spinning reel, just crank on a few layers, then drop your rod tip down till the line goes limp. If it twists up like crazy it means it's going on backwards, so simply flip it over. If it just basically lays limp when you put the tip down, your doing it correctly.
  7. Lemme know if your gonna be up this way again this year Matt, we can hook up again.
  8. Great pictures Shaun, I crossed over that bridge a few days ago and could hear the roar of the water. If you don't mind, I'll add a few pictures I took yesterday in Lakefield, a few lakes downstream from Buckhorn. This is the Lakefield dam at the north end of the Ottonabee River where it flows south from Lake Katchawanooka . Most the water from the Kawartha Lakes has to pass down this narrow channel all the way to Rice Lake. I think the guys looking after the system do a pretty good job of controlling the flooding. These waves are prolly 5' high. Here's a couple osprey sitting 30' above the rapids wishing all the noise from the rushing water would end. I took this picture of the Youngs Point lock last Sunday showing how high the water was Same lock yesterday but now the water is another foot higher and is up over top of the concrete sidewalks. I've been around this river 40 years and don't recall the water level being this high before.
  9. WOW, what are the chances of that happening ?? Great find Joey !!
  10. There was a big change-up in '06 Davey and we basically all started over fresh again on the "new " board.
  11. Up on the West Arm of Nippissing you can't keep the little snot rockets off the big baits and they don't care how big they are. Here's a little dink on a suicide mission that tried to inhale a "double 10"
  12. Sunset on the West Arm of Nippissing And if you want to fish near sunset on the West Arm, specially when the full moon is rising close to sunset, you can catch the odd nice fish too.
  13. On my last boat I got 8 years out of a pair of "Walleye 1" deep cycles. They were still good when I replaced them but I didn't want to push them too far. The cranking battery also lasted 8 years but my old brain can't remember what make it was. Keep the fluid topped up and recharge after every use.
  14. I may be wrong, but I think BPS carries the Guest charger.
  15. Peterboro news was saying it's expected the Ottonabee River flowing towards Rice Lake will rise 1/2 a metre over the next few days so that could cause some serious problems for the waterfront homes. Last thing anyone needs is this rain that's coming today.
  16. I've always thought there should be some sort of regulation where if you leave your dock, raft or anything else in the water over the winter, you should have it secured to shore somehow to prevent it from floating away in the high water of spring. Ice fishermen have to have a registration number on their permanent huts and remove them at a certain time to prevent them from sinking when the ice melts. I don't even know if it's enforcible or not, but I sure don't ever want to hit a 20' dock floating just under the surface of the lakes.
  17. Looking at the other side of the coin, if the booze stores are closed, it may just make the hiways safer...just sayin.
  18. I bought my Skeeter from Hastings Marine, great folks to deal with.
  19. Best one I ever owned was a Guest charger.
  20. Sunny warm & beautiful down here Jason, but I guess you don't want to hear that
  21. Hope they get it fixed up OK, it's a good site.
  22. Fantastic picture Mike !!
  23. I ran a call one time where a kid was making a pipe bomb in his kitchen and it exploded and blew both his hands off. I didn't feel the least bit sorry for him.
  24. Call Whelans over on Chemong Road Jer. They probably don't carry it but should know who does in the area. 705-292-9565
  25. The water levels don't appear to be as high...yet...as a couple years back. This is a picture I took of the locks at Yonges Point 2 or 3 years ago and you can see the water is right up to the top of the cement wall where the boats tie up waiting to pass thru. And this is the same lock yesterday, the water is probably a foot higher than normal but still alot lower then before. And this is the dam at Yonges Point yesterday. All this massive amount of water heading south thru the Kawarthas has to funnel thru the narrow Ottonabee River from Lakefield down to Rice Lake and it's a real balancing act for those in charge. If they let too much water thru at once they flood the homes on the river, and if they don't let enough thru, they flood the area north.
