  1. The net rotted away long ago Ernie, along with the 10' bamboo pole
  2. That feed of smelts sure does look good and brings back lotsa memories. For years we'd go down the Lake O shoreline and fill a few buckets, then go home and fry them up and have a feast. Haven't done it for probably 40 years now but I still remember how good they tasted.
  3. I had to copy and paste that into Google to see what the heck it meant
  4. Yeah, that's my family roots right there Bill. I've got that pic enlarged 12 x 18 and hanging in the family room.
  5. My grandparents owned this hotel in Chapleau back in the early 1900's This picture was taken in 1917 with my grandfather standing, in the white shirt, grandma sitting down holding the baby which was my uncle Leonard and the little girl is my aunt Mable. My mom didn't come along for another 6 years. Betcha the fishing around Chapleau was pretty darned good 100 years ago.
  6. Your gonna have to put a sign around your neck with your name on it Pete, or I'm not even gonna recognize you the next time I see you.
  7. That's a great picture Bruce, I always enjoy seeing that kind of stuff.
  8. Looking out the window at Clear Lake in the K's, it all still looks pretty hard to me.
  9. The new medical building in Lakefield has handi-capped parking Norm, but they still have to pay $2 to use it. To me, that's going just a bit too far.
  10. Jeeez, and I thought we had it bad with some ice on the deck this morning and the few passing flurries we've been having today. Now I don't feel so bad
  11. Thank ya Sir, I'll watch for them.
  12. I've always said bass were easy to catch, but never thought it was THAT easy
  13. Nice fattie for sure Bob. It'll be November before I see the river though.
  14. That picture was actually taken the same day I picked up the rod. It's not quite so clean now
  15. I wanted a new musky rod for bucktails & spinnerbaits last year so I got myself an 8' MH St. Croix Legend Tournament and paired it up with a Calcutta TE. I used it all of last season and can honestly say it's the nicest musky pole I've ever used and just it feels right to me. Don't know if it has anything to do with the split grip or not, but it sure is sweet. The balance & weight is absolutely perfect.
  16. I watch Musky Hunter, but other than that I never turn on WFN Far too much pushing of sponsors products for me.
  17. Every small step forward is a step in the right direction. Great to hear about the improvements and thanks for letting us know of the progress.
  18. That old Rocket is pretty slow Wayne, but not really much more than trying to drive a car thru all that crazy traffic everyday.
  19. A few years back my mom was in Toronto General for quite awhile. I was living in Toronto at the time and used to go visit her everyday but it was costing me a fortune to park my truck. I hadn't used the TTC in decades but decided it was time to start again. It wasn't really as bad as I thought it would be and it sure saved alot of money over the time she was there and I never felt like I was being robbed every time I had to pay.
  20. Now you've done it Roger
  21. Absolutely Wayne My on-board charger is a rather $$$$ MinnKota that works great 99 % of the time, but if I have a very long day on the water and run the 2 deep cycles way down the darned thing won't do anything. I have to get out the old portable charger to get them started. Pain in the butt really.
  22. I believe you and I experienced exactly that 1st hand last August Art

  25. This pretty lady was in the back yard at 8:30 this morning. Always a nice way to start the day.
