  1. I dunno, maybe it's just me, but when I read a fishing report and the OP is telling me how great some new lures are, I'm happy for him that he found something he likes. Then I go to his signature and read where he's actually on the pro staff of the company that manufactures the lures he bragging about, the post suddenly turns into nothing more than SPAM as far as I'm concerned. But then again, that's only my poinion.
  2. I've got a heavy glass boat and have never had an issue with the strap. As for the quality of a new winch, I'd never cheap out on something that important and would suggest you buy the best you can afford. But that's just me.
  3. I can't offer any advice on lodges, but best of luck wherever you end up for your trip, there's some monster fish in Wisconsin.
  4. Good on ya for doing this Will and congrats to everyone for some great catches.
  5. I do it twice a year, every year. Sure wouldn't want to be stranded on the side of a hiway with a flat and couldn't get the spare down due to laziness.
  6. Have a blast up there Roy and all I ask is that you leave a couple slimers for me for August.
  7. What a fantastic way to spend the day...despite the bugs !!
  8. You know your always welcome Brian, just don't tell any of my friends you actually fish for those silly little green fish
  9. Just funnin with ya bud
  10. Outstanding couple days for sure Doug, and it would seem you've been having a great season so far.
  11. Is this what he's calling his musky Joey ??? jeeeez, I thought that was his bait
  12. It's quite common to get a couple muskies from the same spot, specially if there's some good structure there. Whenever I release a musky, my next 1/2 dozen casts will be back to the same spot the 1st one came from. Doesn't always happen, but more times than alot of folks would think. I was drifting through a small shallow stand of pencil reeds one time in about 2' of water and came across 7 fish all gathered in a spot not as big as my boat and all were at least 45" And if your fishing for muskies, ALWAYS do a figure 8 and you'll see a huge increase in the number of fish you'll catch.
  13. Great pictures
  14. Yeah, I spose you've got a point there Brian hahaha
  15. I just wish I got paid for catching them like the Musky Hunter
  16. Always good to hear about a company taking care of customers in the proper way when there's a problem.
  17. Not a big deal really, but I think the rod socks I bought last year have made life much simpler now that I can haul my rods outta the locker without everything getting tangled up anymore.
  18. I was in Toronto for Hazel and it was definitely nasty.
  19. My daughter called last night and said it was nasty around her area too (QEW & 427) and the power was out and according to this morning's news there's still around 35,000 without power in the west end. I'm up in the east Kawarthas and we only had about 15 minutes of very light rain last night, hardly enough to wet the ground.
  20. Thanks for that Brian, made for a great read !!
  21. Fantastic day on the water Doug !!
  22. Good to hear you enjoyed your evening and got to see a couple fish.
  23. If you go over to quintefishing.com you may be able to get the info you need as their very familiar with the area.
  24. My MinKota does the exact same thing if I have a very long day on the water and the batteries drop below a certain level. I then need to hook up a regular portable charger to bring them above the low level, then hook up the on-board again. Pain in the neck because what good is an expensive charger if it won't charge low batteries. I called MinKota and was told that's a normal thing. My last boat had a Guest charger and I never once had the problem and next year I think I'll go back to Guest again.
  25. Excellent 1st day on the water Roger and congrats to your bud on a real nice fish.
