  1. Any update on the issue Rizzo? As someone said this thread has a common thing throughout. Chrysler vehicle and service issues. Each and every person I know well that has one is not happy. One good pal had the tires rotated and a few weeks later a wheel came off, yes he torqued them, he is a retired Class A mechanic. Lucky no one was killed. Plenty of fender damage and a new wheel, tire and lug nuts were required, he fought with Chrysler for months to no avail, including hiring a Lawyer. He almost fell over when he got the estimate for 1 wheel, rotor and lug nuts, the nuts were 70 some odd bucks each, Wowza. I had an 02' Intrepid I leased and bought out. That thing cost me a pretty penny as soon as the warranty period was over, 3 transmission communications modules, whatever that is, at $1000.00 a pop. You couldn't pay me to own a late model Chrysler, OK maybe a Hellcat.
  2. I have been involved in more than a few neighbourhood tourneys. All fun get togethers for some that fish a few times a year. Often there were what could be deemed flagrant fouls of the Regs. When I see something like not consuming fish that are belly up I just point it out to the organizer in a non combative manner. People don't know what they don't know until they know, man I sound like Yogi Berra, (you young guys should Google him if you have never heard of him, you will have a good laugh.) Education is the best tool we have to explain to those that simply aren't aware of something, not just fishing regs. There are several regs in the book that you need a Bay Street Lawyer to fully understand clearly. Many regs. and laws are crystal clear and many are not. That's why in a county of less than 50,000 citizens here we have a full Yellow Page of Lawyers phone numbers when there was such a thing as a phone book. Akrisoner did absolutely nothing wrong. He educated someone that simply didn't know any better and I am sure the organizer was thankful he did, simple as that. I am sure a C.O. would have given a warning rather than a fine. To break a law there is something called intent.
  3. Garmin. I use my phone for, get this, to make telephone calls!
  4. My favorites are 5'5" Rappala's rods with the white Rappala reels, medium light, I bring 2 out with us. CTC carries them. The ultra lights won't bring up the 14" Jumbo's we get here, nice problem to have eh !!
  5. I've seen it happen. One of the new neighbours from the big city (London) some years ago built a big dock down the lane from us and paid some big $$ to do it. As the contractor was doing it I warned him. This idiot knew better than the contractor and I The next spring he comes back from down south and some of his dock is on my beach and up the break wall. He called the OPP to report I stole his dock. Yes Mr. Len Love, I smashed your dock up, dragged it 300' down the lake and threw it up 20' onto my break wall. Even the Cops shook their heads. Then he sued the builder. In the same summer he called the Cops to report that I plugged his foot valve in the lake with algae in the middle of the night. I could write a book about this Citiot. Mr. Len Love of London On. He must be dead by now. Why do people insist on messing with Moma ? You can not beat her.
  6. When do the "Muple leepps" play? One of the oldtimers at work called the Leafs that. I miss those guys, they will never be replaced.
  7. 6" of frozen water on the ground out here, what else are ya gonna talk about? Hockey? I put away all the ice scrappers and I don't remember where I put them.
  8. If you get the MNR Watch reports you will find that the most fined are not those with Asian surnames in the near north i.e. Nippising, most have French surnames. I personally didn't know what is meant by "white bucket brigade" other than those that fill them. Italian, Croatian, Serbian. Polish, French, Irish, Scottish, American, Klingon or anyone else.
  9. Kooka munga surfs up. Those are some fantastic pics you got there my man.
  10. Gin was panty remover, here and in the US. Didn't work overseas.
  11. When I was in my 20's my Uncle had a Gin Mill off the I-90 S near Darian Lake NY I tended bar and truckers and locals would come in and pick up a 5th of Keslser's or 4 Feathers and a 6 pack to wash that gut rot swill down. In some US counties it was legal to sell booze out of a bar. I remember filling out those slips at the LCBO, I was either underage or I really am getting old.
  12. The BBB is a toothless organization. I wouldn't waste my time with them. My Chevy is still under extended warranty and I'm not the greatest record keeper. That is why I deal with 1 garage and only 1. Yes I may miss a few sales on oil service but I'll take the hit. I asked for my service records from day 1 and they emailed me each and every one in a PDF. The 3 previous services were at the GM dealer, what a joke, 1.5 hrs to change oil and filter and a quick visual inspection and 15 bucks more. Nice fancy waiting room with WiFi though.
  13. Man that sure does bite. I really can't help you as it all sounds Greek to me too. My Garmin units would go wonky if I turned on the stereo, if I turned on the stereo first then powered up the units they were fine. Also low voltage would shut the Combo screen off. I have found if transducer cables are too close to one another that effected the units as well. Did any mice get in their and chew on cables over the winter?
  14. If someone knows why I would be interested to find out. As far as I know both are under separate corporations. I still remember going into The LCBO and having to fill out a slip of paper then discreetly handing it to the clerk and then they went in the back to get your order. Half the time it was wrong because they couldn't read the code someone hand wrote. At times line ups out the door and around the corner, and line ups for parking, especially a Saturday or before a Holiday. I was told back then it was because of theft. Efficient eh?
  15. When they started selling Beer and Wine in the grocery stores I noticed they were only stocking higher end wines and they weren't cheap, I don't know about today. A better selection of both would be good I agree Bill. If I remember you could only get a 6 pack which is much more $ than buying a 24. There are only 6 packs in the picture. No way I'm buying 6 packs there. Why I wonder only 6ers? Oh I know, they make more money that's why.
  16. I like it. I once saw a gag tape in a Florida tackle shop that was actually marked wrong just for measuring fish. 1 foot was about 10 actual inches if I recall. It would not be good if someone used it for construction by mistake. A guy marks 4' cuts it and the thing is 12" short, oops.
  17. Like each and every insurance provider including Workers Compensation it is procedure that they deny each and every claim that is before them. My sis in law worked in the Insurance business as a claims adjuster with a national firm and without even read the details a standard form letter denying any claim was sent out the insured. You have to be like a Dog with a bone, don't give up. They want to make it such a Hell dealing with them they want you to tap out, don't. Being relentless in this type of Bull has served me well over the years. You have to work your way up the chain of command. Many times I wanted to give in, like I said don't quit. I have 3 times taken Corps to Small Claims court. only once we went before a Magistrate, and that lasted 10 minutes before she ruled in my favour. $10,000.00 max in Ontario for small claims. I think it was $75.00 to file 10 years ago.
  18. There have been reports from out here they are getting fish, Walleye, Perch and even Pike. I was invited to go out a few times. I would love to get out there and get the cob webs off my stuff but no way I want to bad enough to dress like I'm going ice fishing, no way whatsoever. This weather is going to put me in a wheelchair I tell ya'. It takes me at least 3 hrs every morning to get me moving in an upright position, and no embellishment. It just sucks.
  19. I read about this on MNR Watch. Disgusting to say the least. It appears fines being levied now are much more punitive than I have read about in the past and still just a slap on the wrist. I believe they should throw the book at each and every poacher out there. Some of the fines to deter poaching is a joke, not just some I should say mostly all. In the 3 years or so that I get the reports I have never ever heard of someone loosing their vehicles, boats, sleds etc. A few have forfeited there guns. When punitive measures only really hurt the criminal will they get to the point it is a deterrent to poach for them and others. Big deal a guy gets a $500.00 fine and looses his Fishing license if he or she ever had one to loose in the 1st place. They sell the fish and game so a small fine is no big deal. Just a part of doing business to these morons. Rant complete. I highly recommend you all to get the monthly newsletter MNR Watch sends out if you already haven't. It may be disturbing. Hunting, fishing and environmental charges and fines are passed on to the public. They aren't affiliated with the MNR or MOE. They just pass on the news and MNR reports and rulings to you every month.
  20. Replacing the broken cord on my Motor Guide was fairly simple really. I think if I remember I used a stiff piece of wire leader as a fish line with the cord tapped to it. I always keep some cordage and a roll of electrical and duct tape on the boat. It took all of 10 minutes. I always intended to change it to a better quality cord but it is still there. Now I have another to do when it stops snowing.
  21. I get it now. The Knights Templar created the first banking system based on Gold, Silver and Jewels , Bitcoin is invisible. they didn't accept Bitcoin during the crusades. As far a Pay Pal, taking to a kid yesterday they were supposed to take $80.00 from his Pay Pal account and they took $800.80 from it. He has been trying to recover his money for 2 months. The seller has disappeared and there is no human to talk to at Pay Pal. I'll stick to going to the store to buy my stuff .
  22. I have 130,000 KMS on my 011' Silverado, I had the brakes done and oil changes every 10,000 KMS or so. That's it. Ooops, tires at 100,000 KMS.
  23. It's not that Spring is late, it's Winter that refuses to leave. We celebrated a friends Birth Day 6 years ago to the day yesterday, backyard BBQ, shorts and T shirts. It snowed here yesterday.
  24. I'm channel surfing and see a playoff game on, LA vs. VGK, who in hells name is VGK? Vegas Golden Knights, who picks these names? There was a huge Silver rush in Nevada but not gold and I can assure you without Googling either there has also never been a single Knight to ever roam the deserts of Los Vegas Nevada. Maybe a few Knights of Columbus of which a few may be buried there but I would bet the Casino never a Templar. I spent a month there one weekend and left broke, more than once. I didn't even know the day had sunlight. A good way to have a heart attack for a Canuck going to catch a flight is to walk out of the Hotel at noon to a Limo in 105F.
  25. OK I understand now about bellying out the trailer. You just need to try putting her in, after you buy it and any boat that size no matter what make will pose the same problem I believe. Like I said either option # 1, take air out of the tires or option #2 jackhammer out the grade. I like option number 1. You must have a deep garage to fit the length. That is usually the issue not width or height. There are single garages around here that guys have cut a hole in the door and the tongue sticks out a few feet. Just don't buy a Cracker, errrr I mean Tracker.
