Running 10w30 in an i/o is asking for trouble. Reason being, an i/o engine which is a slightly modified car engine runs hard constantly. Picture driving your car up a neverending hill. That's what boat engines have to endure. I run straight 30 weight oil in my 4.3. If he's that thrifty, run 15w40 that goes on special at West Marine. Just make sure the oil gets changed at least once yearly if not more depending on use. Trashing an engine to save a few bucks on oil is kinda dumb. There's hundreds of these kind of threads on iboats.com. Everyone has an opinion.

Karma... it is a three way street correct?

Wayne, I've been following jen's fight from the get go and it has truly been inspirational. She is a beacon of hope to those who think they can't fight any longer. As for myself, I remain positive and have to hurry up and wait for the results from my bone marrow biopsy which will hammer down exactly what I have and then a treatment plan can be put together. I was diagnosed at Oakville Trafalgar and my treatment should be at Credit Valley. A trip downtown for me isn't too big a deal. I've put my life on hold and distractions are welcome. I will let you know. You can hoist a pint and I'll have an ice cold coke. Your generosity and willingness to help around this board is legendary. Karma WILL show you some love. Keep your head up. -
Karma... it is a three way street correct?

Wayne, you keep on trucking. I got my own bad news this week. I've got some form of leukemia or lymphoma and am now waiting for my final diagnosis. My heart goes out to all those dealing with this horrible disease. Stay strong, stay positive and stay focussed on getting better. Those were the words of one of my doctors. -
Take it in and get it pressure tested. Don't mess around. That lower end is 5 grand.

Your son with the stringer of 'eyes tells it all right there. Nice lil piece of heaven your family has there.

The seagulls down there must be having a field day. It's too bad that a few bad apples paints the rest of anglers the wrong shade. I saw a die off like this at Duffins Creek back in 2000. The dead salmon lined the riverbank and the smell was god awful. It was one of the least pleasureable rounds of golf I've ever played. I hope the CO's nail a few of these guys just to keep them wondering if they will be nailed next.

Good. You around on Sunday?? I might be heading up to Pigeon for our annual tourney. I'm hoping to wet a line depending on how work proceeds at the cottage on Saturday. I'll be hitting the water probably around 10am or so depending on how long it takes me to drag the boat from HH to Bobcaygeon. Also, when you coming to HH for a day?? I'll pm you some potential dates next week.

Holy cow!!!! Those are some beauty 'skis!! I guess bucktails DO work LOL. Those Handlebarz look great and your fishing trip is a testimonial that they catch fish too. NICE!!

I've got a soft sided Flambeau tackle bag that fits musky sized lures and it works great for me. Plenty of storage for leaders, tools, etc....

For northern lakes, you can't beat a chartreuse/orange jighead. Unfortunately, down in Southern Ontario, you can't find them. Most bait shops in the north sell them, they tend to be local made. A worm or a minnnow and you are good to go. A couple of Rapala's, Husky Jerks and Tail Dancers and a spoon or two and you are golden. Good luck and slay the buggers.

If in doubt, just do 2-3 pumps to get some new grease in.

Good to hear your still alive and kicking. I hope the Mrs gets through her treatments with ease. Sorry to hear about your dog, putting down your buddy is never easy, I still think about my last dog and he's been gone for 11 years now.

A pic of Lew smiling!!!! BTW, nice boots, they'll keep your feet nice and toasty.

Lew, just make sure that you don't leave any food scraps or garbage out. Once those bears start coming round, they keep coming round looking for an easy meal. Keep a close eye on marvin.

Change the engine oil if a 4 stroke, fog engine, stabilize fuel (run for a few minutes with treated fuel before fogging), change lower unit oil and replace the seal on the drain plug, some antifreeze in the livewell pump, charge the batteries and disconnect them, shrinkwrap or tarp and wait till spring to open. However you wrap it, make sure you open up all compartments to breathe.

It is nice in the fall. Most of the spots I fish except for a couple there is next to nobody around. I might see 1 or 2 boats fishing for 'skis during the week.

2nd what Rizzo said. I'm sold that they are using VP i/o's. At least you know they are running the best drive out there...........

Sssssshhhhhh billy bob! All the more fish for me. I'm hoping to hit the water for skis in the next coupla weeks.

HAVE A CHART OF THE AREA SINCE YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH IT!! There are rocks and shoals in the damndest places there. That said, are you renting a boat or bringing your own. Go out of the Del and turn right and then right again and pass by the beach area and marina row, follow into South Bay, plenty of water and there's fish there. You'll have plenty of fun in the area. I have a trailer around the corner and know the waters, that's why I give my warning. For the most part, South Bay is fairly safe compared to other areas of GBay. Good luck and have fun there. The sticky buns @ the bakery in HH are fantastic!!

St Croix Avid in m or ml action depending on your personal preference and for a reel, you can't go wrong with a stradic. I'm a fan of the highend Quantum reels as well.

SRT, he's got an Optimax which is a 2stroke. Not on the recall.

I hope that Karma bites those knobs in the rear end.

Shareholders invest in a company because they would like a decent retun on their money. They are risking their savings by investing. They aren't evil. Everyone in Canada that puts into CPP is a shareholder. CPP invests in companies too. There are many factors in play here. Electro motiv was mentioned, it was an American company to begin with. Consumers wanting more and cheaper goods is ultimately what is doing us in. What would a t shirt made in Canada cost as opposed to Bangladesh? Underwear? Socks? Pants? Shirt? We can't afford to shop Canadian but we can't NOT AFFORD to either. Our livelihood here is changing and if we don't change along with it by re-educating ourselves and retraining, we will be on pogy. Good luck to all of us.

Chalk up another great trip @ Lake X.
