  1. I like to save and get a deal like the next guy. I'm not a business man, but I have a few friends that are. Sometimes you see a great deal on 1 item in a store , it's called a lost-leader, meaning, to get you into the store and buy more than the 1 item It's a good idea Cliff. But you buy 500 to get a good deal and maybe only sell 2 of those items, who's the guy holding the bag. Just an example: CD players were new on the market and 2 years later, you can't buy one(out of date). Times are moving to fast. Fish Finders are the same, I bought one this year and already it's an antique. Stores don't keep a big stock anymore. And what about the little tackle shop guy trying to make a living. If this was the way things should be sold, it could spell a disaster for the little guy. Just saying Cliff.
  2. I posted this on the other thread I talked to a friend last night that is a MNR officer in my area. He said we are going to have the same system as the states. They'll be a few glitches till things are working properly. Hunting license, when you buy a deer license it goes directly into the system and your bar code on the license, no paper sticker. You'll be mailed your deer tag. He said the system works better than the card. Maybe Billy Bob can shed some light.

  4. Strait-line Anglers club put on a great informative meeting. Jocelyn from Angling Outfitters knows his stuff about fish sonars and GPS units. I wish I had taken a recorder. The things that he talked about, blew everyone away.
  5. See you there fishdawg
  6. Thanks for sharing Bunk. Super great report.
  7. Thanks Shane. I'm going to try and make that meeting.
  8. Now theres some tasty eating Leechman. I can see the frying pan now MMMMMMMMM
  9. Happy new year Bigbuck and many more.
  10. Bring on the ICE, I think some people are getting bored twisting crap.
  11. Good one Lew, good come back. I thought fishing was fishing and boating was boating. Leave your drinking back on shore. You can't go fishing without a beer in the boat, somethings wrong. I like my beer like the next guy but I save it for land plus the fish get bigger after a few
  12. That's good news. Your board name says it all. You'll be up and at it in no time. See you on the water.
  13. A house is different than a fish hut. You can use what you like, like I said before. I'm just suggesting with my over 30 years building them. Just remember don't leave anything in your hut you don't want stolen, block it up with pieces of wood, not cement blocks, which I have seen. Keep an eye on the ice conditions for your hut off time. If you leave stuff outside your shack, the wind has away of making things disappear. Ventilation with your heat sources, we want to see your reports not your name in the obits. GPS and compass for whiteout conditions. Enjoy, good fishin, see you on the ice.
  14. Nice catch Terry. Just talked to my buddy, he suggests we may have to go farther north this year for safe ice. Built a box for my ATV, hope I get to use it.
  15. Another millionaire born. I'll bite, where can a 240 LB. fish buy them.
  16. Thanks Joey, I just gained 3 LBS. looking at your post. Looooooooks good and the desert,my mouth is drooling
  17. Paint only locks in the mosture, I had put 3 coats on mine. You can use what you like but I'm just trying to give you a heads up.
  18. I'd stay away from that chipboard. I used it on my hut and in a couple years it swelled up and started to rot my frame, plus it got heavier. I striped it down and went with plywood then covered it with aluminum printing plates.
  19. I've never seen a hut that heavy, that wood stove must weight 300 LBs. Flat roof, freezing rain then snow. Your going to need a bombardier to pull it. I wish you luck. You've did a lot of nice work, I hope you don't run into problems.
  20. Weather stays like this, the boats coming out of it's nest
  21. Merry Christmas Gerritt, and very well written.
  22. Thanks Roy, I just posted it on our club site. Wil just did a very interesting seminar at our last meeting, the guys were very impressed, said we need more speakers like him.
  23. Sorry Bill, just sowing some seed and spreading some
  24. Don't be surprised if you get some bad looks using a power auger. Some guys have pulled up were a group of guys are stealth fishing and buddy starts his power auger. you just shut their fishing down. I've had a power auger for years and made a few people ticked off unintentional. If your walking, you might want to stick with a manual. This year I made a box for my ATV that will carry my power auger that I haven't used in years. Because I'm getting older, drilling 20 or more holes with a manual a day can get tiring especially when the ice gets thicker. If you see an old guy using a power auger, it could be me, have patients.
  25. Rizzo, you hurt my feelings. Sheephead are my number 1 game fish Fisherman make better workers, their sport is the next best thing to sleeping.
