  1. Nice catch, did you check the measurements on that fish on the right? That thing looks huge. We just had one come into our club that was 16"X11"
  2. Thanks for the info. Down here in Lake Ont. they don't generally start running till the middle of April, Could be a little earlier this year because of the weather we've been having. I may give it a go tonight.
  3. I can tell ya, it'll slow my jets. I won't be going every day. I'll be picking my days.
  4. Hamilton Pier or would that be farther north. I'm looking for a feed. Thats just a nice feed, congrats.
  5. Great seeing you guys again, I could have talked to you all afternoon. I'm glad Roy got a fish. I know theres some Brown's out there with your name on them Roy, maybe next time bud. Would have been nice if we all could have meet up in Dalhousie. Chris and myself and you guys in boats, maybe a few other OFC'ers, a mini Fishin-greet.
  6. Thanks Canuck, I'll have to see if Bill's bait can get me one of those. The only thing is when you have to do about 50 Perch, the mess I mite have scales all over the kitchen, wife might not be too happy Glad you like it Dan. I do that recipe when I do a small patch. I also use Italian bread crumbs instead of the cornflake, but the oil gets black after a few batches because of the cheese in the bread crumbs. But if it's for just a couple people it's OK.
  7. We have lots of refineries here in Canada. Don't let the media or these so called analyst's lie to you. They lie to us to send a smoke screen to put up the price of gas. Their running out of lies. Next theres going to be a shortage of toilet paper because these guys use to much wiping their mouths. Makes me laugh when they come up with another excuse why the price went up. It's got people not wanting to vote anymore because no mater who gets in, they lie. Now I got to take a nerve pill
  8. Peg the screw hole with a peace of wood with Welbond glue. let glue dry then use the original screw or new, a little bigger if you like. Make sure Stainless screws. Whittle the peace of wood to a point
  9. A recipe that is worth a try is dip the fillet in flour then in a egg-milk wash then in Kellogg corn flake crumbs then fry in oil. they end up nice and crispy crunchy. Gezz I'm making myself hungry
  10. Leave the skin on and fry or deep fry with your favorite batter. Leaving the skin on causes the fillet to curl, giving it a different look. Most restaurants leave the skin on. You won't notice the skin when cooked. The only reason we take the skin off is because scaling. Wish I had a scaler like they have at the processing plant. In Dover and other places, they use old potato pealing machines.
  11. Good for him Chris, can't wait to see their fishin report when they get back
  12. As long as the conversation with great friends consists of fishing Phil, I get the same fishin feelin. Thats not saying I wasn't going the next day I just finished filleting my Perch catch from Pt. Abino from yesterday, having them for super tonight
  13. Thanks Chris for the invite. Was a real pleasure meeting everyone. I had a great time. I could have chatted all afternoon. I hope Roy caught his PB Brown Trout.
  14. My thought exactly Cliff, even if it's a few of us that will give it a go, they may see the picture. Never know Lew, they mite be hearing whats planned. We hope she goes back to 50 cents a litre.
  15. That's it, your on ModQ Hope to see you at Chris's, Roy. If I can't, Chris will explain. Take care bud, catch the big one. I mite be near you guys Sat.
  16. You got it, it's got to hurt some way. If we just sit, we deserve what we get.
  17. I talked to a MNR officer the other day, his explanation was "no excuse", if you want to drive, you make sure you have your plate sticker in time. Were going the U.S. way, weather we like it or not. We have all there stores here now.
  18. It can't hurt, anything is worth a try. As mentioned above, I refuse to buy from those 3. Something has to be done. Stand together, don't be a sheep.
  19. Tie a uni around the fluoro with the braid, then melt the fluoro with a match, it makes a ball on the end of the floro that won't pull though.
  20. It was their brand Marine Deep Cycle 150 Min Reserve. $79.95+ Tax $90.34 Their Phone# 1 877 549 4454 or 905 549 4454
  21. Just bought a 27 deep cycle from Acme on Parkdale best price around Rick. Give him a call, they steered me to the deep cycle for starting and running other stuff.
  22. I had buddy's in that park for years. It's got to be the best trailer park in the north. Very clean. John the owner, runs a tite ship. One of the best fishin spots is in West Bay the sunken island. There is Walleye in there but not lots. Walleye got in there buy accident through Eels creek at high water. Guys catch them down near the public landing trolling body baits at night. Lots of hidden rocks so be careful especially in the later months when the water drops. The old guys fished with wire line for L. Trout. There is some nice Bass fishing in the lake. I still have a few buddy's there ask for Bob or Frazer. Bob is on the river. He's been there for over 30 years, got his place for sale now because of the high gas prices. His buddy Pete was in the park 40 years, new the lake like the back of his hand. Pete move out a few years back. I visited the guys 3to4 times a year. I got some good memories of great times and fishin we had there. I was a member of the Cardif Legion. Lots of small lakes in the area to fish Splake. Some of those back roads made for some good Fiddlehead and Wild leek pickin
  23. Thanks Billy, Been out twice now with the boat. Doing well in Long Pt. bay.
  24. Was out yesterday Long Pt. Bay, caught 60 nice ones between 2 of us. Dipped our Minnows on the pier at Dover. Best spot, look for the boats.
