  1. Gas keeps going up, wait, they'll be a lot of good buys out there. 2 years gas will be $10.00 a gallon.
  2. Sorry to hear about your friend Bruce. I was at Spiel's place today and he told me what happened. I was shocked, I thought the little guy was going to pull through. I'm very sorry for your loss Bruce.
  3. Thanks Simon, that video brings back memories of my dad taking me fishing. Thanks for sharing.
  4. I have a F150 crew cab with cap 4X4 5.4 Triton, Just got back from Quinte with 4 guys and gear in the back. Pulling my 176 Princecraft Pro 115hp Johnson and a 9.9 Honda kicker. I got 15.5 Miles to the gallon. I try and keep it under 2000 Rpm. It's a Truck, when I need the power, it's there. Steep ramps, Heavy loads, know worries. One draw back, tires very expensive 18" $350.00 each. Just a heads up example. I have been thinking about going to the darkside "RAM" nice looking truck, "but" it's a Dodge
  5. Go for it Rizzo, Only takes a couple hours to put her back to sleep.
  6. Gezzz Bruce, that picture sure makes me think what I would have done. I hope your little buddy makes a good recovery. Theres only one place a biting animal belongs Next, it could be someones kid.
  7. Thanks for sharing your tribute Lew. I see 2 great people, you and your son.
  8. Anyone want to buy a boat, no fish left. The sky is falling. I won't be here to see it. Interesting show though.
  9. I'll stick to my cheap Cuda 168 portable. I can't see myself changing my boats over to flashers. Besides, it's the fisherman with a little luck that catches the fish.
  10. Looks great so far, but my concern would be the weight of your hut. If you get into any deep snow??? What are you pulling it with? What lake You putting it on? Hut off dates with early melt down? Make sure you block it up! I had a permanent hut for 30 years on Simcoe, lots of things I learned, believe me. Don't leave anything in your hut that you don't want stolen. Leave your windows open so people can see in. If you don't, I can guarantee the door will be smashed. Plus you could open your hut door to a treat after someone used your hut as a toilet. Don't forget, your hut must be registered if you leave it out. Long Pt Bay, good luck getting it off or getting it out. I hope to see the finished picture, looking good so far.
  11. Lawrence Green Box flasher went out with the Doe Doe Bird. Why go back-wards to moving parts. LCD came on the market and we don't look back. Flasher is time display, you look away for a minute and you miss. At least with a LCD the mark will stay on the screen for awhile. I have a cheap Cuda portable works great. For whities I use the zoom and it works for me. 80" foot of water I can see my jig on the bottom. I wonder if anyone uses the flasher mode on a LCD I'm with Terry on this one.
  12. Great report fishnsled. I new we were in the wrong place. Your water looked different than ours
  13. 0 Fish Caught, 2 days, 4 guys. Some people that jigged caught fish, if you wanted to call them keepers. We saw people filleting 10"ers, what a shame. Biggest fish we saw from the jiggers were about 4 Lbs. We trolled our 2 days looking for MR BIG, NADA. Last day wind was up to 45 K's, "brutal" My excuse, wrong brand of refreshments Boats away now. Ice fishing stuff is out and waiting
  14. Thanks Billy, if I wasn't going to Quinte Wens. I would have went.
  15. What Pic's said is true, he knows me, and after 38 years in the same place you think your part of the operation. I never scratched a day. I took one Christmas off and I got suspended. I grieved it, it went to arbitration. I never new how it played out because I retired. The only Christmas party's we had was when our work Buddy's did one on our own, and I worked with a great bunch of guys, that was my reward.
  16. Hoping to hit Quinte (Picton) one more time before freeze up
  17. Way to go guys, nice clean looking fish. Thanks for the info.
  18. Thanks Guys. With the price of gas and accommodations now, if any little bit of info helps putting a fish on your line, I'm glad to help. I'm no pro, I'm just like you.
  19. Way to go fishnsled, looks like you had a great time. Shame we all couldn't have meet up.

  22. Yes one was a Okuma, one Walker & a Diawa. Thanks everyone
  23. We fished 4 days, 6 guys, 7 Walleye. We fished all 4 days in the Picton Bay, check background. If you think there still in the same spot, good luck with that. Fish move with the wind and their tail 4 fish were caught straight back flat-lining on Reef Runners 260' back, the other 3 were caught using in-lines 200' back 100' out using Tail Dancer, Bomber Long A. 3 fish were in the 12 to 13 LB. mark. 1 10LB. & 3 around 4 to 5 LB. Mon. we caught 5 fish, Tues. 0, Wend.2, Thurs.0 Our other buds, didn't get a sniff. They figured it was do with trolling speed, couldn't get under 2 mhr. We had snow one day and the winds were up and down. Talked to a lot of guys and they say fishing has been tuff this year, we were lucky to get what we caught. We still might make another trip this year if we can find the time. Most big ones had sores all over, enough to turn you off eating anything from there. Couple guys wanted the smaller fish to take home. I not telling who caught the smaller ones
  24. Thanks for posting. I hope we do half as good as you guys. Leaving shortly for 4 days.
