  1. You lead a charmed life sir, your stories make me feel like any excuse for not moving to better fishing is feeble and weak. I take what you say as inspiration to better myself as a fisherman and make my fishing goals happen. Thank you
  2. I guess i should add that i have a 12ft aluminum car topper that i put a fishfinder, rod holders, cupholders and a homemade transom for a Trolling motor. I use this for a lot of my smaller lakes fishing and use my big boat for big lakes.
  3. http://www.cbc.ca/m/news/#!/content/1.165298 Stuff like this doesnt help either, i tried looking for another incident from b c related to keeping fish out of the water too long while shooting his yap off but i couldnt find it. Waste of a person
  4. I love my 20 ft chaparral, its got a v8 305 to get places, tube or ski. I can idle the motor to 2mph for slow trolling, i can fish lake o and simcoe no problem. Best part is i bought it for 2 g. When i flip the back flap down you cant see where the riggers mount, i can also pull out my side rod holder as well. I have been thinking about installing a live well and hitting some tournaments too.
  5. I cant watch italo, id rather eat paint chips
  6. I usually only fish simcoe for pike but wouldnt mind puttin in some effort in the fall
  7. Maybe you could tell me how to get simcoe lakers in exchange for lake ontario secrets
  8. I dont know if i have to mention this or not but i bury the line in the clip all the way on the strong setting every time
  9. Yes i can. My deepest rig is always a meat rig with a big paddle, other than dipseys this rig accounts for the highest number of matures every year. I also will pull paddles and flys in other riggers with no issues
  10. I saw a mosquito in my backyard last weekend that was the size of a quarter! Must be on her way to nwt lol
  11. I run braid on everything and will never switch it. When trolling lake o i have no more hit and misses than the next guy. I use scotty pinch clips on the riggers on the strong setting and they never pull out on their own. As for the fleas i havent seen them in simcoe but have only trolled lakers a couple times, only the really bad days on lake o affect my braid with bad fleas so im sticking to it. Edit. I run 65lb power pro and 50lb seagur flouro leaders on lake o and used 30 lb flouro on simcoe If that makes any difference.
  12. Did you say something to the guy with the gaff? It makes me very uncomfortable to deal with people who are clearing raping resources, i have to convince myself that if no one stands up and says/does something there will be nothing left. I do however feel better afterwards knowing that i at least tried.
  13. Need to do the water pump and thermostat on my chaparral, want to do the seats too but we will see
  14. I was supposed to leave may 13 for pike near timmins but pushed it back as far as work would allow. Im now leaving may 23 or 24, i had to make a decision so i went later.
  15. I was very happy to see them out by my house, i have never seen so many people fishing "crappie" in my canal it was unreal. I saw one guy keep at least double his limit, most people dragging anchors through spawn beds while drifting, many others tying off to peoples docks and properties without permission. One guy went from chucking a rubber frog to a 6 inch rapala (hmmmm....) another guy was chucking a massive reef runner spinnerbait and when i told him pike and bass are not in season he switched to his decoy panfish setup hahaha. My brain hurts from explaining the rules to people and my throat is hoarse from yelling at them. I called mnr about the poachers and the over limit guy and they came in the truck a couple times but the shore fisherman were mostly legal. The boat guys were ridiculous. Anyways, for revenue or otherwise its nice to see them keeping these morons on their toes, i hope they launch the boat next year because they will make a killing lol. On a side note there are no crappie left in my canal havent caught one in days( wonder why)
  16. The person who was speeding and ran down a kid is wrong. Pretty obvious if you ask me
  17. Unfortunately from what i witnessed in my backyard this spring, limits only apply to those who care.
  18. Awesome, it looks like a real nice fish
  19. Pike trip near timmins in may, a week off in august that will either be another pike trip or a week of salmon derby fishing in lake ontario, and more than likely a muskie adventure to somewhere during late october.
  20. That sounds good to me.
  21. Nice!
  22. Wow that looks like a pig, hard to tell from the pic but what do you ballpark the weight at? Nice day of fishing!
  23. Id rather live till 40 having done things the way i wanted than to live to 80 looking over my shoulder. Im 28 and if i died today id be happy with the way i had lived my life and i feel thats the only way to live.
  24. I rarely eat fish, but i have encouraged those around me to let some of those big crappie go but nobody listens I hope the ones i get are smart enough not to bite again lol.
  25. I couldnt agree more, regardless of what parts are strewn about its unfortunate to see the waste of any animal big or small
