My friends family has an opening day bass tournament in the Ganonoque area of the 1000 Islands. They have been doing it since 1969. I have been attending for the past 13 years. Its a great fishery as many of you know. Some pics: The Bass and Pike fishing was very good this year. Most fish caught on Cotton Cordell Big O Crayfish and Perch. Gold coloured spoons and spinner baits were also effective. The largest 2 SM 5.75 on top, 5.5 on the bottom. In the past 15 yrs of this tournament they have never caught a SM over 5 lbs. Father's Day. Let's See Some Dad Fishin' Pics.
Tim Mills replied to Moosebunk's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for the thread my Dad died in 1993 and we had some great times together fishing. My Father around 1980. Bronte Creek was my favourite spots to fish with him. Some of you Bronte regulars may recognize the pool. We had some good talks on the drive home. My Dad and his buddies- Elliot Lake I think mid 80's. He went fishing every year or 2 for about 40 yrs with these guys. I'm surprised the plane could take off with all the booze on board. My son Reilly and I Saturday on Tremont Island in the 1000 islands. My buddies family has been have an opening day tournament since 1969. He won it this year- report to follow. -
Agree that Cotton Cordell crank baits are good value. Big o crayfish is the most productive lure when we fish the bass openner around gananoque, perch pattern also very effective. Big o 3 pack for $9.99 at SAIL 1 white, 1 crayfish, 1 perch. I don't see very competitve prices at the CTC,s in my area.

Your old show was good especially the upper niagara musky espisode. I like the fact that italo fishes local spots that I have fished. Looking forward to what you will bring to the show. Congrats -
Too bad about the specs but hell of a pike, I'd be interested to hear some details on the catch, lure water depth etc

A shame that a family had to lose a father, son and husband so a rich kid could have another toy to play with. I hope the press has the decency to leave the Bosma family alone.

The Possum was one of the greats and a real character. I liked the story of when they took his car keys away he drove to the bar on his John Deere. Saw him once at Lulu's in the early 90's. Merle in a league of his own. "When a buck was still silver" was very prophetic.

One of the Boston bombers shot dead !!! NF
Tim Mills replied to fishindevil's topic in General Discussion
Yes Misfish I know they came 10 yrs ago and one of terrorists recently became an American Citizen. It would not have helped in this case but in a world that has changed alot since 9/11 the US and Canada need to be more carefull/selective when it comes to immigration and international students. Apparently they have the guy cornered. -
One of the Boston bombers shot dead !!! NF

Hopefully, he killed himself and won't take anymore cops or citizens down with him. If there lucky he picks the wrong house to hide in and an NRA member kills him saving the tax payers millions. Agree with earlier post regarding more vigilant immigration screening/profiling. -
Very interesting I had no idea. If its confusing for a CPA imagine how confusing it is for the atheletes. Probably another contributing factor as to why so many pro atheletes go broke within 5 yrs of retirement.

I am widening my single driveway (future boat storage) and am looking for advice. I am not sure if I will be doing Asphalt or Concrete. I will be doing the grunt work -prep, removal, excavating, grading, curbing myself but will be hiring someone to do the paving or the concrete finishing. If anyone has done this themselves or contracted this out and has some advice regarding materials, contractors costs, etc. I would appreciate it.

Lew- if you can get photobucket to co-operate it would be nice to see some close ups of those mounts. Boat and garage envy huge.

Good move. They should try and sign Drew Stanton and draft someone to groom for the future. Too bad they lost Levitre. Can't believe Buddy Nix got snowed on the deadspin crank call-embarrassing for the franchise.

Goldwater-our German Shorthaired Pointer. Great company on canoe trips and he never complains about the portages.

We did this canoe camping trip to Massassauga PP in the Parry Sound area a couple of years ago. They have interior lake sites (no gas motors) if you canoe or kayak. If you want to camp with your boat and motor they also have sites on Georgian Bay. If your looking for summer camping options in the near north this may be a good option for some of you. My nephew Joe and my kids Reilly and Jack. Pike Troll site 19 spider lake My younger boys Jack and Goldwater pike site 17 area view from site 19 Topwater Largemouth site 21 area site 19 looking north Reilly with a typical Massassauga PP pike A short but good trip.

BPS brand, they do float and work ok but the the line cutter is not very effective. If your not concerned about them floating Dollarama sells good needle nose pliers that work well.
