In years past the estates along the lakeshore used to be subdivided and a neighbourhood of custom homes would be created. A few years ago I was told by an architect buddy in oakville that the land has become so valuable that developers can't get enough money out of the land with that business model anymore. He mentioned an estate that was being developed and subdivided into multiple low rise condo buildings. Each building was 5 floors, 1 seperate condo for each floor. Lots of boomers in Oakville with major coin who want to "downsize". The low rise condo model allows them to max money out of the lakefront/lakeshore properties.

Looks like a lot of fun and some good fishing. . Good product placement in shot 1 also.

Thanks for the comments. I bought the seats and swivel bases at SAIL, the seats were $38 each. The rear seat and motor are a tight squeeze in a Scanoe but it was a good deal and it does the job. I also use the seats in a Coleman Crawdad which is more stable but has less cargo capacity.

My son and I went on a 3 day Camping and Fishing Trip in the Loring area. It was cold and rainy and the fishing could have been better but it was an enjoyable trip. Reilly portaging in. We spent alot of time under the tarp. Island Campsite We caught a wide variety of small fish but good sized fish were few and far between. We each lost a decent SMB. Our boat and motor worked well. Until I ran over my son's 50lb braid. Fortunately my son caught a decent pike on the way out. When you tell your son that the fishing is excellent and the portaging will be worth it you feel a bit of pressure. Luckily one good fish can make a trip. We weren't the only ones using the portage trail. Our last portage on the way out

Thanks for posting Mike. Nice shot of the fish from the Pikes mouth. Ditto was Wayne said about the MNR . -
Is that 5 star or canadian mist? I was told that the MNR stopped in at the Bronte Snagfest at the Trestle earlier this week. Not sure if any charges were " laid" .

You can't beat the value. Saw the habs there with the family a few years ago. Costs us around $80.00 Included in the ticket price was pizza and pop for the family. Free parking. Also good pre game and post game party outside the arena.

The fear mongering is definitely a factor. A year ago we were all saying how sad and disturbing the Conn school shooting was. If there was ever an event that should have brought the Dems and Reps together to bring about common sense gun legislation that was it. In the months that followed the Conn shooting gun sales went through the roof. Americans were fearfull that gun restrictions were coming and that if they didn't buy certain guns now they would not be able to in the future. I was born in the states and enjoying visiting but stories like this remind me that I'm lucky to live in Canada.

I have a 10 yr old Columbia Lost Lake from CTC that I use for canoe trips. It was cheap and has performed well but is breaking down. To ensure I stay dry I also use a tarp as a ground sheet inside. If rain in forecast I also use a tarp over the top of the tent as well.

I was building a deck around Jane and Bloor. We initially thought our compressor blew the breaker then everyone started coming out on to the street and we knew it was bigger than that. It was a long drive back to the suburbs that night. -
Predicting the Salmon Run in Southern Ontario?
Tim Mills replied to wask's topic in General Discussion
there have been years when tempeture drops at night have triggered runs on the credit. -
Also happening in the maratimes (and probably elsewhere in Canada). Out of province and out of country investors buy waterfront property and build dream homes. As a result property taxes in the area skyrocket. Some residents cannot afford the taxes and are forced to sell homes and land that have been in the family for generations.

I have the 6hp late 80's or early 90's. -
I dropped a rod a couple of weeks ago luckily I was trolling a floating rap which floated to the surface. I was able to hand line the rod and reel back to the boat.

A buddy invited me up for a couple of days fishing at Bear Creek Cottages on Lake Nippising Sun afternoon-Tuesday morning. I am planning to leave Sat at 2:00 pm and camping/fishing for 1 night along the way. I'm taking a small jon boat with a 6hp. I thought maybe Crane/Blackstone or trying to access something by boat from Britt or Key River? Is there a place on the way to Nippising you would recommend to crown land camp/fish for 1 night? Thanks in advance for any advice/suggestions. Tim
