great report and photos, too bad about the lack of fish. I admire your dedication, and I'm shocked the ferries run that early this time of year. I guess its for all those hippies living on the island who need to get to work (ya right!!)
good stuff. We'll be out that way this week-end doing Christmas stuff. Although fishing is a definite no-no, might be a good break to take the kids down there to see some fish jumping
Yes I do feel bad. Its been a couple of years since I've kept a fish for personal consumption. This summer I caught a real nice pickerel and figured I'd eat it. Kept it in the live well for a couple of hours but my conscience got the best of me and I eventually released it! It swam away strong...but if it hesitated I would have kept it. I have no problem with people who do chose to keep fish, it just isn't my thing.
I think JB's is about the only thing I miss after moving away from Toronto a year and a half ago. Will have to visit them at the spring fishing show where I will walk away with many more musky baits than I need.
Gotta be Rudolph the red-nose Reindeer. Never tire of that goofy little dentist wannabe, yukon Cornelius ...MUSH!! or best of all....the BUMBLE
Didn't I ever tell you...bumble's bounce (to be said in best Yukon Cornelius voice)
I'm a simple guy: musky, pike, bass when in Canada. Dolphin, kingfish, wahoo, barracuda when visiting mom in florida (oh ya, hard to beat the fight of those pesky bonita as well)
I'm almost exclusively braided with fluoro leaders. Just love the sensitivity, hate the pocketbook effect. Braided I've got rods anywhere from 6-80 lb test and the fluoro leaders anywhere from 50-150lb
no snow in barrie, no coat needed today, my house is not in danger of being flooded by rising oceans...pretty hard for me to knock the greenhouse effect
I heard that too about getting the extra 50 feet of cable...I didn't bother. Guess it depends what you're fishing for, but the deepest water I've fished is 35 feet so I've never had a problem. If you're in search of lakers etc then yes, get the extra cable
wow, prices just keep falling on those things. I paid about 270 only a year and a half ago. I'm very pleased with the unit. In stained water I wouldn't expect a miracle from any camera no matter how expensive. For $150 its a great toy, love it for ice fishing
what a fish! I like how they refer to the guy as a "conservationist" in the video as he swims around with a spear gun...guess their definition is a little different than mine.
