  1. ...and this is a bad thing? I'm afraid to see how Chronzy will try to compete with this new genre...perhaps wear a pink thong for his next shore lunch
  2. yup, just saw a moose at the side of mill lake (Parry Sound) last saturday
  3. There is another launch about a km closer to downtown barrie. I believe it is $10 to launch and parking is free. Sorry if the numbers are wrong, but they don't charge us locals
  4. I've heard of this happening in Nipissing. fish sure had to swim through some interesting waters to get where it did!
  5. unfortunately you just aren't looking closely enough. I've heard of people (usually walleye fisherman) cutting a muskies gills. I know JohnnyBass came across some people at a kawartha lake earlier this year who were trying to "fish out" all the muskies. They were actually surprised to hear he had caught one, thinking they had already put a very large dent in the population.
  6. don't skimp on line and terminal tackle!
  7. man my life is boring. Glad to hear you are alright and that the police got their man
  8. I swear the musky fishing in the lower river is as good (or better) than the upper the past few years. All those fish from years ago must've gone over the falls
  9. I like it Terry, have to borrow that one
  10. hahaha that is a pretty good one. May actually have to get the wife off facebook long enough to read that one
  11. too funny. I was expecting that footage of the guy with his leg chewed up that shows up here every year and a half or so, always claiming to be from last week-end. Its almost as bad as the giat Italian pike photo for re-occurence
  12. ...guilty as charged. Apparently they don't like being dropped, and can cause some serious chaos in your boat. Good reason to keep those big nasty lures out of the way too. Big fish can be a real challenge when you don't catch them too often! Although I hate cradles for one very important reason (lure launching at your head), I do appreciate how well they let you handle fish at boatside, especially keeping them in the water. It comes down to experience in my opinion. The more of these fish you catch, the better you become at handling/releasing them. Everyday is a learning experience.
  13. Great colours on those "downtown" pike too
  14. yummy...gigantic mutant perch
  15. whatever you do make sure they test it first! I walked out of there with a battery that was dead and wouldn't hold a charge. Man did that ever confuse me when I hooked it up in the boat, couldn't figure out what I had done wrong. Took me a good half hour before I considered the battery was the problem!
  16. ooooh the dreaded pike slap...that'll smarten you up in a hurry (will make you stink too)
  17. You've written a very nice tribute, I'm sorry to hear of your loss.
  18. you just ruined tonight's dreams
  19. think he called it "rabbit starvation" because of the lack of fat in the meat (unless you eat the organs etc). Personally, I'd rather die of "beaver feaver"...don't know what it might be, but sounds like it might be a fun ride
  20. loblaws...aisle 4. Creative photography and you can make it look like you caught it out front of the church with the big steeple. 22 inches? Heck, get one as big as you're willing to pay for
  21. nice report jb. Its been a while since I fished 6 Mile, used to get some pretty big crappies in there when bass fishing
  22. Congrats Ron on an unbelievable fish. I'm just glad I don't catch any like that, my tapemeasure only goes to 36
  23. now that's a morning! Great photos Lew, and nice persistence. Who needs GPS? Sounds like ypu knew exactly where these fish would be
  24. no clip of the tooth fairy, but Elvis stole a cheeseburger I had cooling on my window sill
  25. unless you've got some grey matter with a treble, not sure that fits the description of a "lure"
