  1. So we moved to a new house and I seem to have an infestation of big honkin dew worms all over my driveway in the morning after a rain. Each summer i buy worms to feed the bass off my dock...this is gonna save me a lot of worm money if I can figure out how to keep them for a month or 3. I remember my "opa" used to keep them in a styrofoam container in his fridge but I'm not sure what kind of soil to use (or is it shredded newspaper that's used?), how many worms can you jam in there or do they need their space etc. Why is styrofoam used? Do they need to be "watered" every few weeks? Fed anything? Any tips would be appreciated.
  2. As a kid I used to have a recurring dream where I was catching fish through the grass in our yard
  3. you might call that a fishing oxymoron :D
  4. that's your opinion. For some people it may actually be about catching fish to feed your family...and if you can get that done sooner, you can get back and spend some time with said family.
  5. wow, that thing is revolting. Is there any creature more disgusting than a leech? Well, lamprey are pretty bad, and carp, oooo gross...now I'm gonna get me in trouble with our carp connoisseurs
  6. I suggest you "match the hatch". This will require you to use a purple wiggler for bait, pretty sure the fish have seen plenty of those. Oh yes, make sure its a shriveled purple wiggler, that water is bloody cold (that's always my excuse)
  7. Go away, nobody here likes musky fisherman :D Kidding of course, hope to see some reports of big GBAY skis this summer/fall.
  8. Been around this site for about 5 years now. Unfortunately, with lots of other commitments, only get a few minutes a day most times. Almost always find something entertaining or moving to read though...keeps me coming back! A real sense of family, especially after making it out to a couple of Lakairs, swills, and unfortunately, funerals.
  9. Man I wish I had those shows, they sound great. I have pretty much been turned off fishing shows by the Bill Dance's of the world - non stop commercial (isn't that what the commercials are for?) and drags fish up and down the side of the boat trying to make them look like they are fighting - what a joke, do people fall for this junk?
  10. this was a great read. I've also got #3 on the way which means I'll be trading in the celica (last shred of manhood) for the minivan option. Towing doesn't concern me one bit because a) my boat is light and I never get to use it :wallbash: From what I've heard, the Honda is a beaut but can the budget accomodate it. May have to get the Caravan (is it the cheapest out there?) and consider it a disposable.
  11. nice looking loot! I'm just not sure about the hat, why pay to advertise for them? they should be giving those things away
  12. if you find this place let me know, I always thought it didn't exist
  13. some beauty fish there. One of these days I'll have to try my luck on Simcoe...just doesn't seem right fishing so close to home
  14. Can't say I recall ever getting home before realizing it. My problem is I've already done the math in my head so I notice mistakes right away at the register. Actually happened to me yesterday and I did point it out to them that the bill was too low, they were kind enough to increase it. Other times that I've pointed it out they've attributed it to something "being on sale"...kind of like the gas auger we heard about a few days ago
  15. good prices, but everything else is poorly run (especially the staff at the Mississauga store - nobs)...that's the way I felt about LeB's when I used to shop there
  16. wow, very neat. Sadly, it will be vandalized some day. Didn't we just have some incident in our own country where some people "relieved" themselves on a war memorial (or something similar, I forget the exact details). Nothing is sacred these days, not even honouring those who lost their lives for peoples' freedom.
  17. how late are they open...I'm on my way! At least he tried to tell them they were making a mistake.
  18. We put in a gas fireplace 2 years ago and it heats our place (only 700 sq. feet) without a problem
  19. I may be the only one hoping for snow...bought a snowblower a few weeks back and she's been parked in the garage waiting for some action!
  20. very cool Chris, nice videos
  21. hahaha...celebrate the filthy little animal....I have a de-formed toe they can make a statue of if they want
  22. I took the Red-eye to Vancouver once
  23. pair of mouth spreaders and pliars
  24. I didn't really think we were discussing whether carp were sport fish or not. I couldn't care less if its a sportfish. If I find one that makes it into our small, land-locked lake I'm taking it out for reasons previously mentioned.
