  1. I have fished there twice this year for musky...not even a sniff. Incidental smallmouth bass is all I saw and a big dead carp
  2. Apparently a good population of small pike, but the odd big one too. Friend of mine caught a 38 inch pike there if you can believe it...long and skinny she was (the fish, not the friend)
  3. I've caught muskies so big and flat I use them as a level when hanging shelves
  4. nice looking fish but where are all them Head Lake muskies hiding at!
  5. great report, good to see lots of variety being caught
  6. my guess would be 2 adults yes, 4 adults no...but that's just a guess
  7. find him in the wild, very nice, snap a photo. Find him at the cottage with my young children nearby and he's a goner. I'll pay the fine too
  8. If you are just starting out, I would say forget GBay...too discouraging (ignore the post above where 5 were caught, you're more likely to get hit by lightning 10 times than get those results!). If possible, head for a kawartha lake like pigeon or scugog when you are just starting out. If you really must fish GBay I'd say Magnetewan river area
  9. Wow, here I thought GBay was 47 inches and up only! What a great day
  10. I find they do not make very good toilet paper
  11. It will definitely be offered here first before going the kijiji route, once I 1) find out what is required and 2) get wife's permission to buy bigger boat. Some have seen the boat at past Lakair's and I'm pretty sure Lew's brother had the same boat. Just finished uploading a few pictures to the site (even that is a challenge for me...now to remember how to include them in a post!)
  12. So I'm seriously considering selling my boat/motor/trailer, just wondering what is required to file all the paperwork. I know for used car sales there is a package you purchase from the ministry of transportation. Is there such a package for boats? Is that a necessary step or is this not required for boats? Please excuse my ignorance on the subject but this is a first for me
  13. So how did it taste?
  14. Some big muskies in the Magnetewan around Britt
  15. geez I'd be happy with $12. I've been to lots that are 15 or 20. Good luck with the camping/fishing jb. Let me know if you can get out this thursday
  16. I second 6 mile provincial park. I've caught bass casting right from the launch before putting the boat in!
  17. i'd like to hear how you did. I've never fished that lake but I do fish Head Lake once or twice a season and Balsam 4 or 5 times which aren't too far away
  18. waders are too hard to cast, I would suggest you try fishing with lures
  19. nice looking fish, that eye sure has a nice set of choppers!
  20. for topwater I like a pop-r. Hard to beat a lively leech though. I just toss em out there, no weight no nothing, just let em swim around until your line suddenly tightens...let the fun begin
  21. wow, fish proctologist...mow there's an occupation I never thought about, but sounds like there might be a demand
  22. fished manitouwabing a coupleof times...some big pike and smallies in there. Other than "Windfall Lake" where our cottage is (also near Parry Sound) I mainly fish Balsam and then the upper niagara in the fall
  23. outstanding! great report Lew
  24. thanks guys. I believe I was the first to reply and I remember saying that it didn't look like any shoreline on the upper niagara that I could think of. Wasn't aware of the season issue because my boat is still in storage, haven't even thought about fishing yet
  25. just grey here, so unusual for Barrie where the sky is always blue (especially in winter...its hard to be sarcastic on the computer isn't it)
