  1. Apparently I don't waste time. Just sold my boat 2 nights ago, and bought a new (to me) boat tonight (although the $$$ hasn't changed hands yet). Please give me your honest opinion if you know anything about the boat or motor, and maybe give me an idea what it might be worth. It was kind of an impulse buy so not sure if I got a good deal or not! The boat is a 2001 Princecraft Pro 162 side console and the motor is a 2001 Johnson 50 hp 4 stroke. It looked like it had barely been used, not a scratch on boat or motor. (the guy selling it figured it has been used less than 10 times). There is no trolling motor or bracket but the 12 volt outlet is in place at the front. There is a mooring cover and a lowrance fish finder. Only one battery and it is 2001 so needs replacing sooner rather than later I'd imagine. Comes with Princecraft Trailer. Any thoughts on this boat?
  2. rapala super shadraps aren't too big, but they do troll well at high speed and easy on the arms when casting. The smaller size may mean you're attracting dinks though. I know my percentage of muskies under 35 inches is much higher than my percentage over 35 inches
  3. thanks, I've found the info...now to decide if its worth it!
  4. So I'm heading to Myrtle Beach with the family, and was wondering what it takes to import a boat from the states. Is it as simple as hooking it up and signing a few forms when you reach the border? What kind of taxes would be added? Would you get back the taxes that you paid to the state it was purchased in? If you buy privately, do you have to register the boat in that state or can you just show up at the border with a "bill of sale" that buddy has written out for you? Any advice would be appreciated.
  5. she's a little fattie! give it 5 years
  6. I couldn't afford the gas for that thing, or the inevitable hot babes that go with it...wait a minute...that looks like Tom Voo's boat (the late night real estate mogul). He has the secret to success you know
  7. hahaha....kayak! no chance.
  8. What am I gonna do? Just sold my boat tonight and I have a big gaping hole in my garage. I've had a boat for over 20 years now, and usually bought the new one before parting ways with the old one. Might have to hook up with some OFC'ers to get me out! At least now i can really start the search for the next one...exciting times. Looking for something in the 16 foot range, 40-60 hp 4 stroke and newer than 2000. Kijiji has been a regular site for me since I decided to sell a few weeks ago. First guy who came to look at it snapped it up.
  9. my worry about that route is you find what you want...but its 8000 km's away! I guess that's ok for small stuff, but I'm in the market for a boat that I can look at first before buying. For me, I just do the old "change city", and it quickly grabs what you're looking for, don't even have to enter your price range etc again.
  10. nice looking fish! Good on you for putting the big 'eye back (although I would hope most people would, I'm kind of surprised that people would expect you to keep a fish like that). Either way, nice looking fish and good to hear the big one is still out there making babies.
  11. short and long are relative terms. What do you consider a short versus a long walk? To me short is around 5 minutes, moderate 15 and long might be half an hour. If you don't have a lot of time, I guess go with short. Got 3 or 4 hours I'd say go to the quarry...then again, sounds like I'm too late to offer any advice. Oh well, at least you got to play with your chub
  12. live leech, no weight. Just toss him out over the shoal or at targeted structure and hold on. sometimes I will add a bobber to the line simply to be able to cast further.
  13. Funny how many are saying its overpopulated. I drive by there regularly and always think to myself how few cottages there appear to be on that lake with lots of natural shoreline...then again, put a prov park on any spot and you are suddenly overpopulated! we had friends stay there, did pretty well for smallmouth (like almost any lake up that way)
  14. how incredibly insensitive to equate this poor man's life with that of farm animal. Any sane P3TA member (there's an oxymoron for you)) would hand in their withdrawal immediately.
  15. dude, where's the RAMONES!
  16. I didn't know my mother in law was on you tube
  17. lots of interesting structure, I've only ever fished the south end and it has kept me pretty busy. Pretty good for smallies and pickerel, muskies are a bit scrawny but a few decent ones.
  18. your lake sounds pretty good, I would like to come fish it! We are fortunate that very few "strangers" come on our lake as there is very limited public access (only down a dirt trail or a hike along some train tracks). Although I wouldn't like it if someone fished my dock (because I actually feed bass worms there) I wouldn't do anything about it.
  19. tee hee I like that one.
  20. I've always found JB's to be a bit pricey, but they have such a great selection and are always friendly I never minded paying a bit extra...however, I'm talking 2-3 bucks more on a lure, not $70!
  21. Lake Simcoe isn't too far, I understand people catch fish there. Personally I don't fish it. I guess we need to know whether you have a boat, are willing to rent one, or plan on fishing from shore.
  22. Holy smokes what a bass! Looks like it swallowed an anchor. No guess on the weight, never weighed one that big
  23. very bizarre, I had never heard that before
  24. ooooh that is the dreaded "mother-in-law fish". Will go straight for the ol gonads and won't let go
  25. relocated it to the neighbours? Sure hope its like that Australian Simpson's episode where the neighbour is 10 km's away! Relocate it to our neighbours up north it would make it back in 8.5 seconds
