  1. at least you won the fight! My bizarre catch story is also from the niagara. A few weeks back my buddy hooked in to an anchor. Such a heavy one we had to drag it into the shallows to get it
  2. all the best Brian to your dad and family
  3. ...classic
  4. how do we know Tiger is a "good" person. Just because you are boring as snot in front of the camera doesn't make you a "good" person
  5. Sorry, can't help you. What would you catch there?
  6. what the heck is a yurt? I will admit there are many things I would rather do than be in algonquin, outdoors, in late february. Is there a colder place on earth?
  7. sure, call up the mistress and ask her to lie for you...whats not to respect?
  8. yipes thats cold Wayne. I'll be there in the cold, just don't count on me to drill any holes! When she warms up I'll turn the lake to swiss cheese
  9. Season closes same day up there?
  10. here's the one I got last year at the g2g. Didn't like the hold I had on the fish, set him back in the water to get a better hold (and let it catch its breath) and the thing took off like a shot...no chance for less awkward pose! Got to love the cold water catch/release. If I remember correctly, water temps last year were around 38 degrees, and we used Wayne's barge as an icebreaker at the boat launch. I plan to be there Saturday December 12. Anyone else in for that day?
  11. I've had an eskimo barracuda for about 8 years now. No major troubles other than in REALLY cold (-30) temps we had about 7 years ago it wouldn't start...guys around me with jiffy's had no problem. When the sun warmed things to around -15 it worked. Stalls out once in a while but that may be my gas mixture or some other setting I haven't adjusted. All in all its been ok, not fantastic, but fine.
  12. quite the forked tail on that little guy
  13. Although I've never seen anyone do it, there is plenty of deep water near shore up by Frenchman's creek
  14. sorry to hear that Lew. If you change your mind close to that date maybe you can hop in with someone else! I've got accustomed over the years to seeing you and Pete troll past and give the "thumbs down"...we've had some nasty conditions and poor results over the years haven't we! I've been to the Niagara 4 times this fall and it has only coughed up one fish for me
  15. Not sure if this has been posted yet as I haven't been around much lately, but usually a group of us get together for the musky closer in mid december. I don't know what the closing date is this year, but do we have any interested parties? Last year we even got a few fish (compared to the previous 5 years!). Hopefully we can get a feel here for who might be interested, and who might have a spot in their boat. By the way, if Wayne is coming and has room, you definitely want to get in his ride, pretty sure there is a barbecue and jacuzzi tub on board.
  16. you may be deleting it from favorites, but probably a few others are adding it
  17. not snowfari!!!!Lots of negative reviews here last year about them. My buddy went with them, said he wasn't sure if they were even over water the hut was so close to the parking lot
  18. for real? They make a 16 inch believer? I think the "common" size is around 9 inches. Pretty sure I've seen some around a foot (13 inches?), but 16 is news to me...or perhaps you have a "man's perception" of inches Whatever it is you're trolling around, keep at it and you will be rewarded.
  19. oh you can count on it being lively. Cold winters and no softwater fishing seems to get a few members a bit ornery every once in a while
  20. you catch those by reaching into a hole with your bare arms and wrassling the fish out. surprised you found one so big in such shallow water, kind of cheating I'd say. Nice fish though.
  21. will be touch and go to make the playoffs. Too inconsistent at the defensive end in my opinion. If Reggie can make a difference back there they should be alright. Will be a first round defeat unless they can grab spot 4 (doubt it) 5 (doubt it) or 6 (possible)
  22. time doesn't heal that wound. I closed up first week in October and I'm still feeling the pain...especially with the great weather we'e been having.
  23.
  24. hockey is a team game. Obviously their "team" hasn't been as good as the other team or they would have had a better record. In my opinion their record is exactly what it should be, because something they've done has caused them to lose (netminding? penalties? can't score?). "Should" have won a game is meaningless. I would think everyone on the planet thought the Red Wings "should" have beaten the Leafs...does that mean we take that one away from the Leafs and credit it to the wings?
  25. don't kid yourself, he is that bad. Worst #1 goaltender in the league...thankfully he can now be an average to decent back-up goalie. I may be wrong, but didn't the Leafs give up a couple of first rounders for him too?
