  1. from the looks of that mug, i'd say hamilton bay
  2. yup.... same here, only it took 10 minutes. you sign a paper saying its home built, approx what it weighs, etc and walk out with your plates. ownership says homebuilt on it.
  3. i was that kid at one point. in gr 7 or 8 i was hanging out with kids i shouldnt have and what not. one had a bb gun that he brought to school one day. after school we were shooting cans and whatnot and i ended up shooting a window in the school. the principal found out it was me, and called the police (i was also suspended from school for 5 days) the police ended up charging me with careless use and discharging a firearm within town limits. i ended up going through the court process, hiring a lawyer etc. in the end the fine/penalty wasnt that much, but the lesson learned was IMMENSE. it straightened me out a TON, well...that and the "talking to" i got from my old mans belt when i got home. had the police not been called i probably would've ended up hanging out with that same group of kids for a much longer time...who knows what troubles i would've gotten into later down the road. splashhopper, you definitely did the right thing.... it may steer him away from getting into further trouble...maybe. ryan edit... i'm not saying ive been an angel since, believe me. but it did change the path i was heading in.
  4. a single hook with a minnow tied 12-18" above a bell sinker has worked for us the past couple of trips out for perch. ive been using 1/2oz but will probably up that to at least 3/4 for some extra casting distance as we're fishing from shore.
  5. injuries is a problem league wide, its hardly a toronto thing
  6. we had turkey for the past 2 days. tonight we'll be frying up the perch we caught saturday morning. cant wait.
  7. from pg 21 in the hunting regs. Firearms Firearms include rifles, shotguns, air or pellet guns, bows and crossbows. You may use semi-automatic or repeating firearms for hunting in Ontario, but not handguns or fully automatic firearms. Air and pellet pistols with a muzzle velocity less than 152 metres (500 feet) per second may be used for hunting in Ontario (see restrictions on page 22).
  8. looks like it may be a balance problem
  9. yup...sure is, whole season is make/break off the first faceoff
  10. make sure you stay out of the harbour area, or go out and get the harbour license that you need to boat around the islands and what not.
  11. you don't need a boaters license to drive a rental boat from what i understand.
  12. thanks guys. hopefully i'll get enough keepers for a nice feed. i'll be sure to report if i get anything
  13. hey all, I was out fishing the barrie waterfront this past weekend and caught quite a few perch and we were planning on going back again this weekend coming in hopes of getting enough decent ones for a feed. sizes we were getting was maybe 8-9" which seems too small to keep for me. the guys next to us were getting larger ones, i think its because they were setup differently and were able to cast further out, i'll try this setup this weekend. all that being said, what do YOU consider a keeper perch??? ryan
  14. we were down at the barrie waterfront for a hr or two this afternoon. plenty of dinks, nothing worth keeping. too bad, i was hoping for a feed. mmmmmmmmm
  15. i'm heading up there this weekend as well. wasnt going to bring the rods but now they're getting packed. ryan
  16. excellent, we'll definitely try to get up there. working every other saturday makes it difficult sometimes, but we'll do our best.
  17. do you sell the salsa at a farmers market or something?
  18. i fix peoples cars for a living. do you want me to go out to the parking lot, smoke a joint and smash a few beers before i fix a car that your kids, wife, parents or anybody else on the road are driving? just because it happens lots, everywhere throughout lots of industries hardly makes it something thats alright to do. ryan
  19. anyone happen to catch the score tonight?
  20. the park was nice, we didnt do any fishing at all. we're hoping to get out a day this week, but the weather isnt looking too good.
  21. man, looks like we should've gone out. we ended up not going to long point PP and headed to rock point PP. kickin myself now ryan
  22. yeah, we definitely wont head too far out (probably wont even get a chance to before my girlfriend gets bored) plan on staying close to the park and getting into a few fish. there's a bait store right in long point iirc.. .anybody know if they've got minnows?
  23. hey gang we're headed camping at long point PP tomorrow for the night and had a question about fishing in the bay. i'd like to know about winds and boating out on the bay. we're hoping we can take it out and get into a few perch or something. dont want to go too far away from the pp. ive heard that winds from the east means pretty much a no-go on the bay, for the weekend the winds are being forecasted to be between 15-20km from the SW. is this going to whip up the bay pretty good? we dont really have much choice about bringing the boat (we haul and store it on the roof of our camper and have nowhere else to put it) if the bay is going to be too rough, it'll just have to stay at the campsite with us til we leave but it'd be nice to get out for a few hrs fishing. if not, is there anywhere around there we could do some shore/pier fishing and maybe get ourselves a feed of perch?? thanks, ryan
