Go with a loomis GL2 I have 2 of them and about a dozen crucials for the money they are awesome !!! And shimano owns G Loomis now anyways !!!! Can't go wrong great warranty and good product and tons of sizes and tip styles xtra fast whatever you need I use crucials for a lot of my bass and walleye set-ups

Ya like the guys said above !!! I use crazy glue all the time but for gulp products it doesn't work well so for sure change your jig heads !!!! There are so many styles now with different wire keepers and even owner hooks have twist lock springs on them for grubs and worms !!!! You can use shaky head jigs too they have small screw in springs to hold the grub/minnow in place !!!! Years ago we used to use small pieces of tubing off blackbird floats to keep bait in place ... Gotta experiment and try different jig head combos and crazy glue it's pretty easy to do ....hope this helps

Ya we had good storm here on sturgeon lake last night it hailed here as well and torrential rain for a bit !!!!! Just what we needed more rain !!!!! The lake is all stirred up from all the rain and wind !! Don't think we had any damage I will go down and check the docks and boats this morn !!!! Heard London area had tornado warnings and the Sudbury area as well ...... Weird weather this spring and the lake levels are still up quite a bit too ....

Those guys are great !!!! I have heard they have even done repairs and helped tournament guys well after closing hours so the guy could get back into day 2 of the tourney !!!! They come highly recomended !!!!!!!

Most all the marinas and boat dealers have hill and engine cleaners Canadian tire has a product called All-off and it's in a spray bottle for $22 and it works on everything it's the eat cleaner I have ever used on boats

It's definitely something people only think about after a theft or a loss !!!! And yes it's a great thing to have specially when the average rapala can be $10-15 man in just a few trays I would have $1,000 it's mind boggling that's for sure !!!! Take pics of everything and documents. Good ideas !!! Tight-lines

It was mentioned above rich but just even dragging a 4-6 inch swim bait along and just shake it and lift it !!!!! Along drop offs and deep water flats you might even pick up a few walleyes as later on when the pike go deeper they will be found where you would fish for walleyes !!!!i catch a fair amount of decent pike fishing for walleyes from June till September in around the 30ft depth and I'm usually bottom bouncing for walleyes and I am only trolling at 1.3-1.8mph so for a pike that's pretty slow speeds but we catch them a lot using that method !!!! Also drifting an Erie dearie with a 4inch white grub accounts for lots of pike every spring and summer !!!!! Just experiment and good luck

Yes I have also caught carp while trolling worm harnesses as well as lots of big channel cats in the Ottawa !!!!!! Have even caught whitefish while trolling harnesses as well and once when I was running a salmon charter boat I had a big planner board out about 100ft off the side and didn't know it then but there was a picnic table floating right side up about 6inches under the surface and the board went right overtop of it and all the line and lure got tangled up in the table !!!!! what the hell. That was fun .... But we got everything back !!!!! Good job it was just trolling would not have wanted to hit that at speed !!!!!!! Always lots of things to watch out for .....

Yes you are right jimmer specially here on the kawarthas where we live !!!! But after the weekend when all the citiots go home we have the place all to ourselves and nice and quiet no sea-doos or kids tubing and no boat traffic !!!! I usually head north on the weekends and don't even fish my lake which is sturgeon !!!! If I do I start at 4:30am and I'm usually done by 10-11am as soon as the first sea doo and all the clowns get out I'm done !!!!!! So I drive north on Saturdays and have lakes up on Haliburton all to myself !!!!!! But this weekend I'm kinda stuck fishing here for bass as fmz15 is not open till next weekend !!!!!! So the key this weekend is to start early and finish early !!!! Come back in and have a BBQ and a few beers and chill !!!!! Then get ready to do it all again on Sunday !!!!!!!!!!! The lake will be a little insane tommorow ........

If you are towing a boat with it sounds like its just about had it !!!!!!! And if it breaks down while towing your boat you are now in an even bigger jam !!!!! Get something a little newer or one whith out tranny recalls its not if it breaks it's when !!!! That would be your weekend fishing trip down the drain .... Just sayin

There is still some bass on beds in sturgeon lake!! It's been a delayed spring for sure and water levels and water temps have been up & down and with all the rain we have had in the last week the lake is up a few more inches as well !!!

Yes and I doubt Chris is ever been in an Allison bass boat that does 80mph !!!!!! Hahaha ..... It's a very nice fast bass boat !!!!!! Awesome

If I see fish on their beds I will not be targeting them that's for sure !!!!! But I will keep my eye out for them and take some water temps at various spots on the lake !!!!! A nieghbor of mine has had a nice 3lb aprox smallie right at his dock I'm about 3 ft of water for about a month now !!!!!! Under his boat lift !!!!!! And he is aggressive and swims around in circles and comes right back to his spot !! So he is still guarding his nest !!! He makes sure that the kids don't fish on his dock so as not to disturb him I hope the bass is gone by the weekend ......

I live right on fmz17 on sturgeon lake and there are still fish on their beds in some spots !!!! And because it's a late year and the lake temps are colder for this time if year than normal !!! The goon squad will be out in full force this weekend that's for sure ...... Should have left the opening date where it was on the 4 th Saturday !!!!!! Oh well ......
