WOW....well done wayne just wait till you see her all decked out in that new pursuit gear. ..it will look amazing, there is a few big salmon boats out of our harbor, port darlington that went all pursuit product and man do they ever look/work nice, you will need sunglasses to look at all that aluminum...in the sun, well good-luck installing all that and hope the job goes as planned, thanks for giving us a tease looking at all those presents...cheers -
Well cliff at least all is well, and im glad there was a happy outcome ...so i just went outside and put my spare boat plug into my livewell intake...thanks for the safety tip...in over 20yrs of owning boats ive never heard of that, but i have now...and i just made sure that it wont ever happen to me...thanks

Great report ...and excellent pics...man those are huge lakers ,well done, glad to hear port d is picking up,real soon the salmon will be in there...thanks for sharing cheers

You got that right...there is nothing like the smashing hit of a big king on a wire dipsey rod...it is simply violent...its amazing ,and like the guys above said i always will run both and let them tell ya what they want, and the dipsey can run right or left to the side of your boat so it goes out and away as the riggers just stay straight up and down if the fish are a little spooky some days they will only hit a dipsey...so its a personal choice but us salmon guys will mostly run both,....hope us guys are helping you...cheers
-
Way to go...nice fish, and they will only get bigger and badder....great pic too...cheers

Well i can see how every situation is different, and so it should be handled that way,its a real tough call on that one...now its gonna bother you,but i hope it doesnt cause you guys to be enemys. i think that once you said that it will never happen again,so i think you did the right thing by telling him the consequences of his actions...so i think you made the right call on that one

Well like cliff said, most creeks in the gta will be full of suckers at this time, and right now you can only fish them south of the c.n.r tracks which is just south of the hwy 401,they will hit worms ,roe, even catfish or carp bait, they are usually pretty easy to catch and there is alot of them so go ahead and go get a couple of hundred or so...lol cheers

Oh....man does that ever look good. ..yummmmmyyyy, you are a good chef,so what time is dinner...we can be there shortly..lol..lol -
Well like percher said this time of year trolling slow can be the key...in a week or so once the lake warms a little it will pick up big time...i rely on my thermal troll ...you can de doing 2.5 on the surface and depending on wind, current at 35-50 ft down your lure can be going 3.1 or reverse so there is several factors at work there but the speeds we both mentioned are all really good speeds...good-luck
-
Way to go guys ...and those suckers are fun to catch...as kids we fished all day long for them and had sore arms by the end of the day....great day to be fishing....cheers
-
well the ideal speed is about 2.6-2.8mph...thats the most effective speed and will get you most species with that speed, when the fish are feeding heavily you can go as high as 3.5mph,but for trolling dipseys, meat rigs ,flys and spoons you will get kings, cohos, bows and browns now with flashers and dipseys with short leads you might stick with 2.8....but thats about the best overall speed hope this helps...cheers
-
Sdrewdriver, with about 8 bits, pliers, needlenose, vise grips, wire cutters, spark plug wrench,band-aids,duck tape, multi use tool, flashlight, whistle, spare plugs, spare boat plug, buck knife...thats about it and all that fits in a small sized tool box and it takes up little room i feel better knowing that its there,oh and i forgot i have about 50ft of spare rope i have had to tow a guy in from the middle og pigeon lake before ...its good as well if you need a tow ...so its good that everyone has one in their boat...great thread too....cheers

Nice lookin steelhead.. ..great pic cheers
