  1. I will take new jersey for the east and vancouver for the west....oh well i'll take that chance its 2 longshots....but yes the leafs let us down again, they always try and do things the hard, very hard way....
  2. Well im unsure at this point.. why do they need to do this??? its not like they dont have awsome sales in their aluminum fishing boats, maybe they think their fiberglass line-up will be as good as the aluminum, but i understand its not genmar that owns lund anymore ,it could be the new company that wants to do this,i also heard they might make pontoon boats as well the new style fiberglass ones, im with you on that one wayne.why not at least a bass boator a pro-v first, well i guess we will just have to wait and see....but i think they should have just stayed with what they already make...A GREAT WELL MADE ALUMINUM FISHING BOAT.. ..cheers
  3. Great report joey, and nice catch of fish for everyone as well, love those pics too. ..it sure must have been cold out there on the niagara especially with the wind chill.. .brrrrrrrr thanks for sharing it sure looked like a great trip had by all.....cheers
  4. Great set-ups fishmaster & erieeye, thats almost exactly the ways we salmon fish,we can use mono as well and i do use trilene big game but then the fleas start and that puts an end to mono...well for cutting through the fleas the wire line rules for sure. flea flicker works well too,but from now until late june big game mono 20lb is my line of choice, but for mainline backing i use 50lb power pro then my flouro lead,or power pro to my dipsey then flouro lew you can use mono as backing but if you plan on fishing lake o all summer you will have to change it to either flicker or power pro....some salmon guys last summer were using 80lb mono and it worked well against the fleas, but man it takes alot of room up on the reel, and you dont get much on...but for a charterboat you can reel them right in like a tow truck...80lb is like 1/4 inch rope....but like i said i run mono for now but i already have 2 rods that are wire rods so i dont change them....i also use 50lb power pro as backing for my leadcore rods as well i run a 5 color and a 3 color, mono can be used as well but if you are going to use that all year in lake ontario the fleas will screw that up to,so at least with power pro you can get the fleas off alot better than with mono ...do you get the fleas as bad in lake erie, because sometimes they get so bad in areas depending on the current its almost impossible to fish with anything other than flea flicker or wire line...as you guys well know its always changing out there and it cost to much money to always be changing lines every few weeks to keep up with the different conditions cheers
  5. Thats a pretty nice easter present roy, you must been well behaved latley for an awsome gift like that.....cheers HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE
  6. Welcome aboard douger, this is the best fishing site there is,and we have the best people going ,so enjoy and learn and contribute, and you will have a great time and meet lots of new freinds....cheers
  7. Hi sticky i see you live in hamilton, what you should do is go to fishing world, its right there in your city explain to them what weedman said and they know their stuff and they should be able to set you up with something in your price range, and depending on what you need it for, example do you fish for just 1 species or do you need something you can use as a multi-purpose rod & reel, and like weedman said bass pro and lebarons always have combos on sale and they will get you what you need...good luck cheers
  8. Yes same here, hey lew did you see the other new post for a manual downrigger for $50 bucks its perfect for trout and walleye...thanks for the cabelas info cheers
  9. Thats a great little rigger for walleyes or lake trout.for sure and $50 bucks is a steal, its not a heavy duty boom and would be ok for a 7-10lb ball no problem and its a manual rigger as well, but for someone fishing for those species as well as rainbow trout its great because it has a short boom and one pulley it would be very difficult to get the boom over the side of even a medium sized boat it would more suit a boat with narrower sides i have also seen these small riggers on the transome of smaller boats in lakes where guys use them for lakers, they work really well and are made of tough plastic and will last forever .for a place like quinte and to run a 4lb ball for walleyes its PERFECT....maybe lew would be interested cheers
  10. Well the problem would be for a large size dipsey it would have to be a fair size fish to trip the dipsey, and walleyes arnt noted for violent strikes if you were to use 20lb 7 strand wire you could get away with it,but power pro is for sure the more suited line for walleyes ...i will use 20lb power pro for that situation
  11. No problem lew if you need anymore info,or if i can help let me know, they work very well and its a very interesting way to present a nice crankbait,to them big eyes...dont forget to let me know how you did with them...oh just wondering how much were they in cabelas,????? cheers
  12. Hey lew the colors that i have used with the most success is kelly green, with a yellow o ring and wonderbread with a black o ring....for real sunny days i run silver ....those are pretty much the only ones i use....sometime soon bass pro usually has a sale before summer and you can get them for around 11bucks a piece most places sell them for about 15-18 bucks...cheers
  13. If you are looking into snubbers for dipseys tightlines in pickering has several to choose from some come in 8 or 12 inch and some are different colors and some are clear, they have even made snubbers for musky fisherman to ease some of the shock like strikes that big fish can exert on your tackle,we always will use a snubber on our dipseys if we are using wire..and braid as salmon can ruin your set-up real quick, but like i said earlier for lew for the small size 00 dipseys and the mini-disc from big-jon they are the ones we use for walleyes usuallyjust your braid will do,as walleyes are not known for hitting like a freight train we will run braid or mono to the dipsey, with a good quality snap then flouro from the dipsey back to the crankbait or harness or whatever you are running, depending on how deep you want to fish and definatley the water clarity will determine the length between the dipsey and the lure with the clarity on quinte 5ft would be ok,and sometimes if i am using a bait that wont dive deeper like a harness or a smithwick rouge i will go 7 feet, but you can also even run a dipsey off a in-line board as well and even get your bit even farther away from the boat, they are very versitile and can be used in lots of ways oh i see you found a chart lew i would have got it for you as well.... ok well good luck when you use your dipsey...they are great and we use them for everything from salmon, walleyes lake trout to musky to rainbows.....cheers
  14. well we use them for salmon but you wont need one for walleye thats for sure cheers
  15. Yes lew 4-5 ft is a nice setup, now in your post you didnt state what size dipsey you were going to run,as there are several sizes i have the depth charts and use dipseys all the time,so let me now and i can tell you ...cheers

  20. Thanks for the info...but why would they do this. ..is it just to scam & screw people out of their money, isnt a tax like that illegal???? how can they do this, well i would like to screw them with my own version of levy tax. ...
  21. i use a bass pro shops net,it has a large diameter with a telescopic handle, and has rubberized coating that prevents hooks from being caught in the mesh...its a great net and works well for salmon too,and it only cost about $45 bucks...thats a great price for the quality and its netted lots of salmon and has stood up to the abuse ...cheers
  22. well done scott.. ..can you please leave a few for me to catch in lake ontario this summer. ..lol..lol.. way to go bud you never, fail to catch one.....great lloking fish thanks for the report cheers
