  1. Well at least you can see them keep feeding them and you should be able to nail a few for sure, thanks for sharing ...oh and yesterday i was at the pickering nuke plant on lake ontario in my boat and i seen about 500 carp,no lie...there was tons of them all over but they were so spooky, couldnt get even 50ft from them,as the water was crystal clear...and i was looking for pike, and trout so i should have fished for them at least i would have caught one...lol...i love getting a huge 20lbr on as they fight big time.....good luck on those carp when they come back to eat be there waiting for them....cheers
  2. Well done dax,i was out yesterday on lake ontario as well, and thats a nice fish you guys caught ...its gonna get real fast & furious out there real soon, last year we went to dalhouise about 3 weekends in a row about this time and we had some amazing days ,going like 15 for 17...it was wicked.....so thanks for sharing,i have been in touch with some guys that live there and get constant updates so i cant wait...i would be going tommorow but i am mounting my riggers on my new lund so i will have to go next weekend for sure, take care cheers
  3. hi roger, just letting you know you can call me up to midnight if you like...905-725-8445 cheers
  4. hi roger i would sure like to go with you as ive been salmon fishing on lake ontario for about 25yrs...and i have also been chatering and been a crew member for about 10yrs,but i am mounting my riggers tommorow on my new lund,my bud and i had to modify an aluminum plate to attach to the gunnel...if you want to go out maybe next weekend i can take you in my boat or we can get all your salmon stuff all rigged out as i have all the rods ,wire ,dipseys and leadcore,set-ups,as well as a ton of spoons, and all kinds of salmon flies and meat rigs, hering strips ,and whole bait...i have it all so if you want you can pm,me later and i can call you and give you some tips over the phone... once you learn a few things you should be ok....but running dipseys on a wire roller rod is a little more complecated and if its not done right it can caost you several hundred bucks....so i would love to be on your boat but i have to get mine ready by mounting my riggers i have to do more drilling in my new boat...i shuder everytime i have to drill another hole......so talk to me tonight and i will call you, like i said if it was next week,it would be great, the salmon are just getting started down there .there have been lots of browns caught and some big rainbows as well,i have been in touch with a few guys from the area and get a daily update on the fishing conditions,we usually fish from port dalhouise and all around the mouth of the welland canal, the fishing there is amazing...as last year we had a few 15 fish days out there all around 30-60ft right beside the welland canal, just remember to bring your in-line planner boards as these all very important, make sure you bring some stick baits and use bigger hooks ...like smithick rouges, rapala x-raps,j-13 ....so talk soon roger shawn

  8. Also the one and only mepps #3 black fury with worm wrapped around the hook, as well as dunking a jig in the weed pockets or slip-floating for them, and if you really want to get picky you can drop-shot for them..as you can see know from all the replies there are many ways to catch those ever so-tasty walleyes good-luck cheers
  9. I agree there is a lake south and east of bancroft we used to fish for the bass opener we started there about 10yrs ago and there were no rockbass to be seen...and now the lake is so full of them its unreal...there is millions of them even the locals dont know whats happened that lake used to have a great population of bass and they are almost gone...we dont do that lake anymore...also the lake that my freind lives on is a natural lake trout producing lake and it has seen an increase in the rock bass population...and we are worried its very hard to figure out...and in some of the smaller lakes are getting overun by smallies and nobody keeps them...yet the lake trout pop is suffering...i always will keep a feed or 2 of bass early in the year and i wish a few more people would as well....cheers
  10. Glad you had a blast catching suckers...they sure are fun to catch...thanks for sharing your report cheers

  14. Yes sir...ice out lake trout fishing is some of the best fishing of the whole year, when trout can be seen cruising the shallows and can sometimes be taken right off docks from shore...you can also troll for them just flatlining and they are always hungry this time of the year....go get them....cheers

  18. there is lots of trout way up the creek right now and if you go way up there is resident browns all year but most of that area is all private property, just south of the camp samac dam there is lots of fish there so the opener should be good, people are there at the dam right now watching the trout jump up the dam spillway its really neat to see how many there are...cheers
  19. yes if you are going to fish you might want to launch out of port darlington we fish there and do very well...lots of fish there and big kings to....this time of year there is fairly good brown fishing ..we troll the shoreline for browns towards the wilmot creek mouth,or fish for lake trout off the outflows at the darlington nuke plant...or you can luanch out of frenchmans bay and fish the warm outflow at the pickering nuke plant there is everything that swims there, so there is a few options for you...cheers
  20. HAPPY...B-DAY BRIAN.. ..you better make sure that there is enough room on that cake for all those 43 candles..lol..lol
  21. Ive been fishing 2 creeks on private property for about 15yrs and always have a blast where i fish most of the big bows have already finished there business but there is always several to be had and lots of small trout 10-20inches and browns that are residents so i never take any of those and in the past few years the browns seem to be getiing bigger i like to think its because of catch & release.. .so im looking forward to a great day of trouting as usual...then on the sunday i will prob hit the kawarthas for some crappie action....cant wait ....cheers and good-luck
