  3. For several years now i have been living in a basement apartment, and have no other choice but to store my batteries on a cement floor, and i have never had a problem,i heard that about 10yrs ago that setting your batteries on a concrete floor was a myth, this was comming from a freind who worked in the general motors battery plant in oshawa,he says just keep them fully charged and top up the levels,THATS IT !!!!they dont need any special attention, and if they are used for a period of time with low water, you can buy a battery restorer chemical that you pour into your battery and add distilled water and charge it back up,that should do the trick....the only time it wont bring a battery back from the dead is if you have burned a plate, from being partially out of the water in your battery if that happens its just a matter of time and it will be toast !!!! thats about all i know about battery storage, and i have had them last almost 10 years ,so i guess it works...cheers

  6. Well i would think that you would have more people show up if it was on the weekend. ....as lots of people work shift work, and would not be able to make it,or is my thinking wrong, there is people who cant do it on weekdays, cause of children babaysitters, work in the morning,etc,etc.....thats just my opinion, cause we want as many to come as we can right ???? cheers shawn
  7. it was around the first week in november,it was also on the petawawa river right near the achry road entrance to alqounquin park northeast gate,we went out on the ice about 3inchesof clear ice to see if we could see any trout under the ice,and to mark the edge of a weedbed for ice fishing later on,so we knew where to put the ice-hut !!!!!! and we could see the trout swimming under the ice it was so cool.....it was also a 5 day cold snap.....

  15. Well that certainly sounds interesting !!!!! as long as it doesnt go bust like that $1,000 dollar a day salmon derby a few years agao, they went broke, but these guys have been aroung for along time, and so far it sounds great....i will have to get more info about it,as im in the great ontario salmon derby every year, and i also do several 1 day salmon derbies as well,so its just one more reason to take another few days off work to go salmon fishing on lake ontario...cool ,ill wait till the spring fishing show in febuary to find out more info and decide weather or not to enter this one as well...i hope [percher] dan reads this too,as he is an avid lake ontario fisherman too...thanks for sharing this great info....cheers

  18. Hey lets all pitch in a build our own place !!!!! well we will have to give it some thought for sure,as well as i think that the weekend should be moved up at least 1 weekend maybe 2....there was lots of fish there a few weeks ago too,and at least the weather will be a little better, what does anyone think of that?????
  19. Hey mike,im not sure what size your boat is but if you can get away with a 115 merc by all means go for it !!!! i was reading about the newer 115 motors and for some reason they are the right size motor and are very efficent, for their size they even compared a 130 and a 150 and for the difference in horse power the 115 is miles ahead, the 150 is about 20% more worse on fuel compared to the 115hp....its hard to say on the puter, but i hope you can understand what im saying....good-luck and do some homework before you buy,and check out what im saying about the 115hp...cheers

  21. Well even though its a put & take salmon fishery, its still very bad news,as it might happen to trout and other species as well, and not all chinook wont sucessfully spawn, there is some natural reproduction in some creeks and rivers, what about if next spring those 1 year old small fry rainbows do the same thing...its not good news
