  1. Well i can look it up in my book for you its the 8th edition, what exact lb test are you looking for,it does give several other most baits are tested with either 10lb test or 14lb fireline, but there is other lines in there as well????
  2. Nice catch !!!! More of lake ontarios fish ,that came out to play.. ..i have only ever done that once caught a carp, with a little cleo, casting into the warm water outflow years ago at the pickering nuke plant, and the whole mediumtreble was right inside his mouth !!!!!! he must have sucked it up while it was drifting in the current across the bottom....different thats for sure...cheers
  3. Well biteme,as for as we will see next week....the bay of quinte is where the worm harness shines my man !!!!! ive caught tons of walleyes down there with my homeade harnesses, and back in 96 i won a walleye tournament using one of my harnesses, when almost nothing else was working, like mepps, rapalas, minnows, jigs, big cranks like reef runners & manns....and i have almost caught everything except,an atlantic salmon on them....ive caught sturgeon, channel cats salmon, trout, lakers, muskies, big smallies, largies, whitefish, crappies, pike, and cod in the atlantic ocean, when you put a dew worm on those things ,they will catch everything & anything....and they are the most versitile of any lure...cause you can fish em any way and everyway......they are simply the ULTIMATE LURE.....cheers

  7. Well without a doubt it would have to be a....... WORM HARNESS....!!!!!!! or at the very least hooks & dew worms....that will catch anything that swims,no doubt about it,and its the most versitile bait ever,in the history of fishing....cheers

  14. WOW...That changes everything now...i wonder if thats going to make everyone shoot wolves on sight now, cause they proved now that they hunt humans....and for all those years they have always said that there isnt one documented case of wolves hunting humans !!!!! well its a strage case for sure,im curious as to the final outcome of this is going to be....thanks for sharing, this story very interesting>>>>>
  15. Well with my 339igps-dual frequency, its great as i can track my cannonballs, and the 50klhrtz works very well,it has 400watts peak to peak, and man it sure makes a big difference when im fishing in deep water,it marks the thermalcline to if there is one, like i said i can track the cannonballs great for deep water you cant beat the 50
  16. Hey steve,i was just reading up on the new motor guide digital, trolling motor check it out man its real state of the art...and its all digital...talk about contour following man thats the ultimate trolling motor, with built in transducers, man its a sweet unit, just thought i would pass that on to you,

  22. Hey steve are you sure you want to go,any lower thrust that at least a 55lb...you said for the niagara, well wouldnt the current just over-power a 40lb motor,i would think that you need a 60lb minimum for the strong currents its better to work your motor at maybe a medium setting than having a 40-50lb going full blast ,that would eat even more battery power than one thats 75lb and only working at 1/2 throttle right?????i use a 55lb in the ottawa river and alot of times its full blast to hold me steady in 5mph current...so next time i get a trolling motor im going with more power than what i think will do the job....as for what brand i have had both...and depending on what options you want i guess ita amatter of confidence....i have never had a trolling motor problem ever so i guess its a personal choice,good0luck in that...
  23. That a great 2 weekends of walleye fishin don !!!!!! right on,glad to see that the fish are starting to move west of the ferry....and yes don, thats a moster of a sheephead !!!!! man they fight like crazy, and dont give up,a very strong fighting fish...great pictures as well, thanks for the report,im hoping to get down there this weekend, maybe i will see ya on sunday. ..i will PM you latter in the week....cheers
  24. Well mim not 100% sure but i dont think that rainbow trout would reproduce in a gravel pit pond...maybe im wrong but ....my uncle does have one of those big ponds and out of all the fish the rainbow trout has done the best....there is also crappies[black] he had bass in there but they died...as for the trout its put and take every 5 years i think he puts more fish in there...the trout survive on insects, crustations and monnows, they are pretty hardy he says, and they are fun to catch,so is the crappies he has added brush, cover, and floating docks and stuff for shade and food sources...i dont know if you have to make sure that they cannot get out,and invade a stream or things like that ...im going to track this thread i have always wanted to do this as well...good-luck
  25. Nice catch mark!!!!! you da man.. ...very nice sized simcoe fat smallies....cheers
