  1. Sounds like you had a good day... It's always nice to see the hospitality being extended to our members.
  2. Beautiful pics... I was thinking the same thing solopaddler. Any fish in that lake?
  3. There are a lot of bays and canals on the island that hold a number of different species of fish. Try anywhere in and along there and you should have some success. Good luck!
  4. That is an awesome report!!! I am glad to see you and your friends had such a great time!
  5. I got pretty cold out there.. Hat, sweater, jacket in August= no sense at all. I was cold! LOL
  6. Awesome report!! Glad to see you had fun!!
  7. Hi All, Just thought I would drop a little report from my kawartha lake dam tour... Headed out for a few hours and managed to land 2 fish, snapped of 1 and lost 2. They weren't very big but it I had a great time. Here are some pics. (Again, nothing to brag about LOL) Heading out again tonight, with hopefully a little more luck!
  8. I agree with BOQ. If you're coming down in a few weeks; it may be a little early for the big eyes. I would recommend the Kawartha Lake region. Many different species, decent size and scenic. Good luck!
  9. I have never heard of that. Can they sting you?
  10. Your right Lew.. I find it remarkable how apparently there is no correlation with the long weekend and gas prices going up... Yet several politicians warned of higher gas prices yesterday. Isn't it amazing how some of our politicians can forsee the rise in oil prices (which affects gas prices). Maybe they should be working on Bay St? It makes me ill!!
  11. I thought that was pretty well done. I agree with the "over imbelished" hookset piece. Not sure why they had to show that?
  12. Hey Gerritt, Is there anything I should grab? Grant
  13. Great to HEAR you caught fish!!! We would like to SEE that you caught fish though!!! LOL. Sounds like a great weekend!
  14. I do most of my fishing for big northerns in the early winter. I fish in the boat bays along the Lakeshore (Spadina and bays east of that). I have always had a lot of success. Try a Rapala Super Shad weighted with lead or giant tubes, sinking husky jerks etc. etc..
  15. Pumpkinseed Bluegill Black Crappie Rockbass Largemouth Bass Small Mouth Bass Perch Comon Carp Walleye
  16. Great report and welocme back to the bright side of fishing! Look forward to meeting you at the BOQ!
