  1. that's nothing you should see what is in the flour at industrial bakeries.,what the QC found in some of the samples. I worked at one for many years right out of high school. If you knew you would put store bought bread on the list of what not to eat. I also heard of the many horror stories I heard from my brother working at Kelloggs in London. Now back to my frank and beans.
  2. I am about to build a backyard pergola, but I keep getting conflicting opinions on how to secure the post. Some tell me to dig and set in concrete ,others say sono tubes, others say use post spikes, and again heard dig and set in just pea gravel. So to start I need to set post,so what is the best way to set the post. Also I have been told set them down 3ft and 4 ft. I live in southern Ontario close to lake erie shore we usually don't get a deep frost? thanks in advance.
  3. picked up an old rapala lure over the weekend for a few bucks. Just wondering when did rapala make there jointed lures with a metal lip?
  4. I find Accuweather more correct then either of WN or environment Canada. If I had to chose between EC and WN I would say EC.
  5. passed a package on my way to work this morning for sale. If anyone is interested in contact info I can stop on my way home tonite and get it. Looks to be a 14ft aluminum s/c . looks to be in good shape. It is in London area.
  6. I will second the opinion on the fishing on grundy, you will be disappointed. There are a couple others to consider all about the same from Hamilton. Restoule, quiet park with very good bass, walleye, musky pike and laker fishing. Great sites on the water and some backcountry sites on some of the smaller lakes. September park will be fairly empty. Lots of water and lakes to cover which offer lots of shelter on windy days. Bonnechere is another option, good pike bass and walleye fishing. There are plenty of great sites along the river and good fishing from your site.Again lots of river and lake to fish, I would also check out Beausoleil Island. It is part of a National Park located around Honey Harbour area, good sites, good fishing.
  7. just to add Rondeau has excellent pike fishing also and is just a hop away.
  8. I have fished LSC several times on hard water and soft,it has a very healthy population of pike,in the lake especially in Mitchels Bay,the johnson, thames and sydenham rivers all have good pike numbers as well.
  9. check out sauble falls pp....should be some steelies around plus there is resident browns, rainbows and brookies. The park is open for camping. Plus you will be close to saugeen also.
  10. if you are going cordless stay away from ni-cad batteries which the one in link is ....spend the money and get 20 volt lithium-ion and also consider a brushless motor as well....canadian tire carries rockwell and dewalt.....tsc carries milwaukee....all good brands
  11. My boat came with a custom Top Gun cover and 12 years later it is still in excellent shape only had to replace a couple snaps over the years.
  12. without knowing all the details i will not pass judgement on the father by calling him names, the thief on the other hand is a lowlife POS.
  13. that was back in about 1988,40 bucks was the average price for one that was about 3 inches in diameter and at the time was best shop in London.same thing now would be over 200.
  14. stupid....there is no other word to describe people who make choices like this, charge him with dui along with the other charges.
  15. great art work....but I just don't understand this tattoo craze it is just not for me but then again I am older ,plus I can think of many other things to spend my money on. Although at one time back in the 80s I was that close to getting the Rolling Stones logo on my left chest but chickened out in the waiting room at the shop. It was only going to be 40 bucks.
  16. I have a 14 year old ezloader and other than replacing rubber and bearings it has been great.
  17. check some dealers sites they may have an old stock new motor. I picked up a new in crate 70 johnson(suzuki) 4stroke for about 3500 off the list. It was old stock and came with the same full 3 year warranty. It was model that was 5 years old. Also yes check out suzuki I am on my 6 th season with mine and it has been flawless.
  18. wow what a classless act by kadri, that has no place in hockey with kids watching.....hope the league hits him hard
  19. first time in 14 years we don't have a rink in the backyard, hopefully next year southern ontario has a winter.
  20. If you want i could give all info you need on Restoule. The park is set back off 11 and has a remote setting ,has several good water sites plus several back country sites on the water. Fishing is good for walleye, bass, pike, musky and lakers. Best part most of the lakes have very little development along the shore hence very light traffic.Crown land surrounds most of the area lakes.Park has good launches and docking.North Bay is only 40 minutes away. wakimi also sounds like a good option. I have never been but hoping to make it there this summer. Bonnechere is another nice option. Has lots of water sites with access to the lake. Great sand beach, the fishing is very good for bass and pike. Matter of a fact we were catching all day long right from our site on the water. There is also walleye and lakers. Ottawa ,Pembroke, and Petawawa close by. Good place to camp if you want to try some white water rafting on the Ottawa river also.
  21. Heres an option Back a few years ago when all 3 kids went camping with us we use to drive 2 vehicles one to pull the boat the other for the tent trailer. Now that we are down to 1 kid we drive just one vehicle pull the boat and tent it. We bought a large tent and BYOBs. So you sleep off the ground stay warmer and dryer and the beds themselves are more comfortable to sleep on then the beds we had in our tent trailer. You could also look into buying a portabote which fold up real easy and are easy to strap to the roof.
  22. I have a black trap and a silver one and both work the same,no difference. Look for a deeper pool below an area that has some current. Dog kibble works great if it is available but bread also works well.My buddy just hangs a small diamond shaped piece of shiny reflective metal inside trap that flutters in the current and swears by it to catch loads of minnows with no bait. I have yet to try.
  23. It was 13 degrees and rained most of the day yesterday also, today is alot cooler at 8 degrees
  24. out for a walk last night and the sidewalk was covered in dew worms,in mid december, can't say I have seen that before
