Try Emily PP on Pigeon Lake. They have some nice docks where you could easily launch the kayaks from, that end of the lake is well protected from winds. You could fish of the docks in the park or under the bridge, should be some bass around as well as pan fish, even might get lucky and hook a walleye. You can kayak down the river into Omemee, there will be traffic.

check your local tsc store, mine has a couple ulgy sticks left going for 25 bucks.

I had a boat stolen, rant/ vent included
bow slayer replied to chris.brock's topic in General Discussion
I totally agree ,when my neighbours garage and truck were broken into it took 24 hours for the cops to show up to write it up,yet in my 10 minute commute to work everyday I will pass 2-3 sitting waiting to catch the hardass criminal who is driving 10 km/hr over on their way to work -

that sucks,I hate thieves.,biggest d-bags that call themselves fisherman.2 years ago i had 3 B/C combos stolen out of my boat packed ready for my trip in the early am. I still get pissed thinking about it. I would love to catch them in the act. They were worth about 1000 comined. Hopefully you find the scum who did it and the boat. -
About an hour north the French River provincial parks rest area has a cool museum and there is a walking trail with a suspension bridge over the river, not a bad way to spend a couple hours.

there are several sites(12 i think) on clear and stormy . There is a nice one on an island right at the dam down the river.Another that is on stormy and has hazel lake on the other side of it only a couple minutes from the ramp. There is a couple on islands on clear. I believe all the backcountry sites are first come.
-
none with a pool, only martins and knights bay on restoule now. They both have boats and cottages. No where on clear, stormy ,maybe if you find someone privately to rent to you. Clear Lake camp closed about 10 years ago and they sold off all the cottages. there is Birch Bark camp on Commanda.

we use to plastercine or the sticky stuff to put up pictures or posters, both worked good. We also sprayed the mesh heavily with deep woods off. Another option is to buy a good thermacell that will keep the vehicle free of bugs.

Thinking about getting 2nd dog a Labradoodle
bow slayer replied to FLEX ROD's topic in General Discussion
I have a female golden retriever and a male black lab,2 best dogs imho. smart, love the water, great with kids and all other dogs, love exercise, and both think they are lap dogs and imagine this both love to retrieve. I would not even consider any other breed then a lab or a golden. -
I have a custom made one that is now 10 years old and still in excellent condition. I would recommend using Top Gun for the material. Excellent durability, does not rip or get damaged by the sun and has excellent water repellency qualities and does not need to be retreated for it.

heads up check your local TSC store for tackle
bow slayer replied to bow slayer's topic in General Discussion
no stores in T.O but probably one just outside http://www.tscstores.com/Default.aspx -
sorry to hear this, same thing happened to my dads neighbour's dog 2 weeks ago just outside of Sturgeon Falls, brutal way for loving pet to go.
-
My local TSC store has all there boating and fishing stuff at 50% off or more. just picked up some lures(rapalas, cotton cordels, jitterbugs and booyah spinnerbaits),suffix braid and some gulp spray. Some of lures were at 75 percent off,I got a few jointed shap raps for 2.79 each. Not sure if this at all stores or not.

Ducane is now owned by Weber, weber does all the warranty for them and still builds BBQs with the Ducane name. They are not the same quailty that they use to be but still very good grills.
-
I also won my first Ducane from the London home Builders Association during a promo. Liked it so much when it was time for a new one we did not even look at other brands. Up til winning it we were buying the 150 dollar ones at CT that needed replacing every 2 years.
-
I have owned 2 BBQs the last twenty three years both were Ducanes. The best BBQ on the market, only one on the market that is truly 100 percent stainless steel, nuts bolts and burners included. The second I have is in year 10 and still looks like new and will easily last another 10. Yes there are a little pricey but well worth it. The one I have now cost 800 on sale at Home Depot ten years ago.

thanks for asking I am in the same boat, starting to shop for one, just not sure what I want. -
whistle is a signaling device,so if you have a air horn that will pass,do not need the whistle, the rope is a heaving line must be buoyant with a floating ball on the end.
