  1. Dan you must be talking about White Oaks,it use to be a great neighbourhood, many of my buddies back in high school grew up in that area and I spent a many night hanging out there.
  2. where could I find JB weld,CT? Princess Auto? TSC?
  3. Backlash, one night about 10 years ago when we returned to our site there was a trap close by and had a baby raccoon inside the mother was frantically circling the trap,so my daughter went over and opened the trap, she was not about to let be separated from its mother
  4. Made it up twice this summer. park never lets me down. Got a few pics of bears on the trail cam overnight as well as foxes, coons and a deer. They all past by at the back of our site which is right on the water. The raccoons are nothing like they were back 10-15 years ago. They did a bunch of trapping and the numbers have certainly dropped off. back then we would have 10-12 on our site at one time
  5. yes I am interested, I have a 70 hp 4 stroke Johnson,wondering if it would fit?
  6. Well yesterday morning I pulled a bonehead move and broke off some of my skeg. I was up at Restoule PP and got up before everyone else and checked the weather out and seen there was thunderstorms heading that way. So I decided I would take the boat out so I could start packing up since we were headed home that day. The lake was calm so I decided to go for a small ride before I took it out then back to the dock. I backed the truck and trailer down the ramp, then jumped in the boat and drove it on the trailer. This was the first time in about 6 or 7 years I had done this unassisted, usually one of my sons (who were both still asleep in the tent) drive the boat on the trailer and I just back up the trailer and wait for them to load it. Well after loading it I jumped in the truck and drove up the ramp completely forgetting to trim up the motor,so now I am missing the bottom couple inches of the skeg. No damage at all or near the gears just the lower section of skeg. So now I need to find somewhere in the London area or realatively close by to get it repaired. Anyone have a suggestion,or even better a rough idea how much this going to cost? Any help is greatly appreciated. thanks
  7. Anyone in the London area know of a place that I can get headliner in my 1987 Buick Grand National replaced. I tried googling with little results......thanks in advance
  8. I prefer my round reels to my low profile ones,I have a shimano Calcutta TE200DC that not one of my low profiles can touch ease and distance wise.
  9. Yes there are several boat in sites on Stormy a couple I can recommend and there are some down the river towards scotts dam and on Clear lake. You will have very little traffic or others camping as most of the time these sites are vacant. Most of the lake is park and crownland so next to no shoreline development other than an Old hunt camp and few cottages spread out on Clear, stormy and the river. The park office use to have a map of all of them not sure if it is still available. Yes Stormy lake and the ramp are accessable through the park. Last year they were building a new gatehouse/store and made a new road over to Stormy lake which I believe was done to make sure people have to go past gatehouse and pay a fee to access Stormy where as before the road would split before the gatehouse. if you need any other info just ask. you will have to pay a day use fee to use the ramp and leave your vehicle at Stormy, there is lots of room for parking and docking.
  10. I just went to CT and came home with spray 9 marine formula, worked great looks like a new cover
  11. well I just called 2 zukis dealers and they both said to use a high quality 10w40 motor oil and have found that to be popular answer on line as well
  12. can I use regular oil in my 4 stroke or does it have to be FCW 4 stroke outboard oil.....I have always used the Evinrude 4 stroke blend but I was wondering can I use Quakerstate full synthetic or a blend in the motor? I keep getting different answers.
  13. just like to get some of the black mold from the inside of my boat cover(top gun) just wondering what others have used that wont hurt the material.....thanks
  14. I have been going to restoule since 1988,great park, good walleye, bass, pike and musky fishing. There is no way you can get from restoule to stormy using the river in a boat during summer, unless you want to leave motor and bottom of your boat in the river trying. If you want more info on the park and fishing in the lakes just pm me and ask away. Mikisew only been once, park is okay fishing was good for bass. Grundy, been several times over the years it is not what I consider to be a good place to camp if fishing is very important. No motors allowed on the lakes, have only caught bass and hammerhandle pike . I have heard there is walleye but I have never seen one caught by anyone. Nice park with some great water to explore, good trails, but very popular and busy.
  15. I decided to save the 80 bucks, just got home with the FJ, 172 out the door. I did notice when I was there they have a FJ 1000 for 134.99. If anyone is looking for FJ 1000 at a great price I will direct you to the retailer. They also have a CI4 2500 for 240 out the door.
  16. hard part is I went in thinking of getting the CI4 then I seen the FJ marked down 279. I played with both, the CI4 is definately lighter, but both feel great. I guess I am trying to justify spending the extra cash when I really don't have too.
  17. okay getting a new reel for fathers day....now the choice ....I have found a stradic 2500 CI4 for 245 taxes in out the door or a stradic 2500 FJ 170 out the door. At first I was thinking CI4 but for the extra 80 bucks is it worth it? What would you do,both prices are excellent prices for brand new reels. They also have some brand new stradic 1000 HI on for 123,99 plus taxes. your thoughts please.....can't decide
  18. 25 years is not enough.....it should be life no parole....our justice system is still very lacking
