I fished down from Mattawa, not too many cottages. But keep an eye out for logs. At night it can be tricky out there. Every species of fish you can think of. But check the regs for fishing on the Ottawa. Ont vs PQ license. Regards

Matt, go down to Spencer and cast 3/4 oz cleos blue/green/silver off the wall. Just don't snag anyone walking by. Also you can try small stuff like a number 1 Mepps or a 2 inch rapala.. I use those when I could see the fish cruising by. Off the canal pier, just choose the side with the wind at your back. Another trick is jig with a spoon right off the end of the pier. may end up with a giant laker. regards

Take a bit of time and look at Cooper AT3. The rating are good an the ride is excellent. As for noise they are nice and quite. I just put a set on my Ram and like them a lot. Regards

To me also this sounds like a power source issue. Use another plug and protect with a surge protector. regards

Nice job. There is a bunch of fish frys. I saw the perchers out there but didn't want to go near them. I may next time. Regards

Well I caught one out there. Just dropped my worm harness down and within 30 seconds it was on. Though I was going to have a day like Corvette's. Must be nice. At what speed were you trolling at? I tried from .5 mph to 3. marked lots but no other hits. Regards

Good afternoon, with this great weekend coming up I am hoping to get out on the lake. I was talking to a buddy about it yesterday. Today he went to Port Burwell, myself, not feeling like doing a 4 hr round trip from home. I could go to the BOQ if I felt like driving for so long. So hoping they can still be found out from Port Maitland. Has anyone had any luck out there lately? Any info would be appreciated. Regards

Here are some links to try hamiltonrvrentals.com stonypointresort.ca on Rice Lake at Hasting. You can shore fish there at the locks. Regards

Sleeping Bag Ratings - late fall camping
davew3 replied to Sharkbait22's topic in General Discussion
Sharkbait22, get the warmest you can. On warm nights you can open it up to cool down, but if you get cold, then it is no fun. I have spent a few night with little sleep from shivering. Then I spent the money for a down filled bag and have had it for many years. Warmer is better. -

Yes sad about the two. Very foggy lately. They do have a good network though. The SUV was reported missing from the east coast. -

Good morning try calling Smart's Marina. 613-336-2222. They are on Mazinaw Lake just up 41. Maybe they can give you some places. There is an e-mail listed on their website. My wife and I drove by the lake last week. A beautiful looking place. Regards -
Well, no luck in Elliot for my wife and I. My Godson took us out to a bunch of spots out on the White. But everywhere we went there were campers on the shore line. Tried a spinner in the Little White and got one chub But at the Bay of Quinte we did better. Enough walleye for two dinners and some to bring home. All that driving and not one large animal to report. A couple of chipmunks. Now back to work and hopefully down to Lake Erie this weekend. Thanks Bob and CTDD for the offers though. Regards

Elliot Lake Sat and Sunday for Brookies, pike and bass. Then to BOQ for Walleye for the rest of the week. I hope the weather stabilizes.

Colin go to the local Canadian Tire store. You should be able to equip yourself. Regards -
Thank you gentlemen. I have done some cruising with google maps. Looked at a few spots. If I do go, is there still a tackle store called Red's Little Hooker up there? Regards

Good morning Bob, Thank you very much for your offer. We are thinking of coming up next weekend, but it all depends on how my friend is feeling. He is going through chemo for lung cancer and we will find out later this week if he is up for a visit. I will for sure bring your number with me. I will let you know before the week is out. Have a great day.

Next week my wife and I will be taking a drive to Elliot Lake to visit some old friends. It has been a long while since I was last there. Can anyone provide some spots where we could do some casting from shore? Species is not an issue, just a place to relax for a while. Any info would be appreciated. Regards

I pity the fisherman, fishermen, jet skier, or family that is out on the water and calls 911 for help and they cannot respond because some punk a.h. burned up the boat for kicks. I hope it doesn't happen to anyone I know. Regards

DarrenEm, I have had a trailer on Big Bay for 7 years now. I ran a 15.5 ft StarCraft. This year I have stepped up to a 19 ft Smokercraft. You will find in the morning the water is nice and calm, but in the afternoon when the wind starts the 3 to 4 ft waves are no fun. So it depends where you will be launching and which way the wind is blowing. Just keep an eye on the water. When the waves start to build, head in. My personal opinion. Regards

Will you be asking about the OMNR to those that approach your door?

simple, there is an old saying If you do not vote, you do not have the right to whine. Only by participating can you make change. regards -
Check the size of your battery holder first. Find the highest cold cranking amps you can with the longest reserve. I am looking at buying two this year. Canadian Tire seems too have a pretty good price range. Group 27 730 cranking amps, 100 amp hrs and 116 min reserve decent price regards

Looking for advice on buying a bike (NF)
davew3 replied to fishing n autograph's topic in General Discussion
For comfort find a bike with front shocks at least. Also Shimano gears. Thumb or grip gears. I have tried other gear systems and they have gone out of whack when you need them the most. Also check for what kind of mirrors you can mount. And a gel seat works for when you are out for a decent ride. Regards -
Just some quick looking around 115 hp 4 stroke (?) 400 lbs 9.9 84 2 batteries 120 50 ltrs of gas 81 685 lbs on the back of the boat. To me, a lot of weight. Others I am sure will know better. Regards
