  1. Wow all these replies and the BOQ not mentioned once. Seeing as I live 2.5 hrs away, any updates on Big Bay ? appreciated.
  2. Yet a man shoots another and kills him and all charges dropped. I am confused. NORTH BAY, Ont. An Ontario hunter has been fined $1,500 after he shot his own big toe. Court heard that on Oct. 23, Richard Chamberland of Sudbury, Ont., was hunting small game off South Pardo Road, off Hwy. 805. After shooting unsuccessfully at a grouse, he returned to his brother's pickup and sat on the passenger side. He did not unload his 12-gauge shotgun. It discharged in the vehicle, shooting through Chamberland's big toe and the floor of the truck. Chamberland was required to have his big toe amputated. He's been fined $750 for discharging a firearm without due care and attention for people or property and $750 for having a loaded firearm in a vehicle. He is prohibited from hunting for five years and must successfully complete the Ontario Hunter Education Course before hunting in the province again.
  3. I have said to my wife many times, make eye contact with the driver. She says if she gets hit she will sue. I said back, if you get hit your the one in the hospital or dead, how is suing going to fix that ? Cars don't feel pain. Always look, just like when we were taught. Idiots everywhere.
  4. If you are looking for a basic spot, no power, no water, then try Snookies in Shannonville. On the BOQ, has a canteen, showers, great people. Been there for years now. Just set up a water tank, a sewage storage and set to go. Regards
  5. Thanks Fishing Fury. Was sitting in a bar in Marigot last time in a harbour and was watching what I think were young barracudas swim around. So who knows may have some fun there. Geez snowing here again. It just can't get here soon enough. And I hope it is done by the time I get back. I am staying at a place called The Dove's Nest. I hear the owner is also a charter captain. So who knows may go out with him or at least gets some tips. drive safe out there
  6. 16 days and counting far cry from last weekend. Was in Haliburton trying for lakers. missed three good hits on tip-ups and that was all. Boy did it cool down when the wind picked up -30 But in 2 weeks + 30. can't get here soon enough. Regards
  7. Just for kicks. Did you ever think of going to the Florida Keys for a fishing trip? Do some inland, keys, reef and deepwater. 100 lb tarpon, sailfish, redfish. Something different . Regards
  8. Phil points 45 + - 15 James points 43 + - 17 Tyler points 33 + - 12 ---------------------------------------- - 44 I though top lines were supposed to be on the + side.
  9. My wife works at Target (for now) and told me Maple Leafs sweaters came in and did I want one if they went on clearance? I said UH, NO !!!!!. This is hard to watch and I feel for the guys who still play as best they can. But there are some players (player) that have to go. To play at their level they need all facets of the game. To hit, to go into the corners, to block shots to stand up and fight when a team mate takes a cheap shot. The other teams know certain players will not do this and take advantage of it. No 1 line my azz ! I was born here in southern Ontario and the Leafs have always been my team. But for the last three years I have bet against them and came out on top twice or will soon anyways. Go Habs Go.
  10. In six weeks I will be sitting on a beach in St. Martin with a cold beer and my fishing pole, so I don't care what Willie said
  11. Cliff don't know how you will take this. You would be an idiot not to get your self checked out. Last year I lost a friend of 20 yrs due to a slow brain bleed from a fall. We being older now don't deal with things as well as when we were younger. Regards
  12. Check with your insurance company to see if you have any coverage down there. I know mine is only good in Canada and the U.S.A. Which I did not know until just this month when I asked. The extra insurance you may need may affect your choice. Regards
  13. Yes Wayne I stayed at Orient beach as well a while back. At Mount Vernon. An interesting place for sure. This time staying over at Grande Case. I hear there are tarpon over at Marigot. Looking for other shore spots as well. Regards
  14. Whopper, I already have lunch reservations at the Sunset Bar at the end of the runway Men No shirt no service Women no shirt Free Drinks.
  15. Looks like I will be on the island in March. Does anyone out there have any tips for shore fishing down there? Would be appreciated. I will be taking an assortment of plastics, surface, body baits and spoons. Regards
  16. Morning. I can think of a couple of things. Did you check your fuel filter? Also may be the stators. I also recommend Bellville Sport. I have had my engine serviced in there with no issues or surprises. Good luck.
  17. May the Lord look over Jen today Wayne. Truly an inspiring young lady. Regards
  18. After reading this, I thought I would look into my insurance as well. I am going south to St Martin in March. So I phone my insurance agent only to find out my insurance is only good in Canada and the U.S.A. So then I phone RBC visa and they will cover me if I use their card to pay for the rental. Covers, damage, theft and vandalism up to $65,000. But no Third Person Liability. ( If you injure another driver say) So buy the rental companies coverage. and if anything does happen you have 48 hrs to call it in. Check before you go. Merry Christmas everyone. Safe travels
  19. Well how about Burlington Vermont ? Also there is Grove City in Pennsylvania. Regards
  20. I agree with FishFarmer. I have a tri fold and find it freezes to the tailgate. If I had my choice again I would have go with a cap. In the rain it is so much easier to keep your stuff dry, and you can put taller items in the back. Regards
  21. Bronte Creek valley is mostly clay. Where the river bends the land is made up of material washed down the creek. The water carves out holes in both the clay and soft material. One step you can be in one foot of water. The next 6 ft. Also watch out for undercut banks that could collapse. I have walked the creek from Kilbride to the lake (where legal) and it changes all the time. Regards.
  22. huzzsaba both rivers will be blown, but I think Bronte would be more accessible. The Grand when the water is up can be tricky. Just be careful at Bronte as the holes can be dangerous. Clay cut outs deeper then you think. Regards
  23. I sit as far away from others as I can and try to keep my hands in my pockets. And when leaving grab a dose of the sanitizer opening the doors with my elbows. I don't need to pick any bug up or pass one along. Regards
  24. I am thinking it is a front to back gas tank as well. I filled it to the very top once and now I am wondering if it is stuck there. Has this happened to anyone else? I guess I will keep an eye on it while out trolling on the BOQ this weekend.
  25. Good morning in my 88 Smokercraft with an in floor gas tank I seem to be having fuel reading issues. When traveling my gauge reads full, even when it's not. When I stop the needle then moves to show me what I really have. Would this indicate that the fuel gauge is shot, or can it be adjusted? This is my first boat with the inboard fuel tank. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Regards
