Fightin words where I come from..... S.
-
Mine has been around $100/mo so far. Only been in this house since June though. 1500sq ft split level, gas heat, everything else is electric. I haven't turned on any baseboard heaters yet though....woodstove is getting installed next week! I hope to never use them. I'm a hydro nazi.......keep everything to the bare minimum, and stumble around in the dark a lot LOL S.

Im so jealous. I wish I could take my new old sled for a rip!! That bravo is mint! S.
-
LOL....been there done that. Does it always smell like a leaky septic bed or is that just when I stay there? lol S.
-
I've always stayed at twin peaks. Its such a dive.....lol S.

I have 1200gram redhead brand waders I use for duck hunting that are really warm, and they have held up for 4 seasons so far. No complaints. Get them a size bigger, and wear some good merino wool socks. The socks and extra room make all the difference! S.
-
Id replace them anyways. I think you may be harder on outboards than I am. Thats impressive!
-
That second black duck is actually a mallard/black hybrid. The white top edge on the speculum gives it away. A true black duck will have no white at all on the upper edge of the speculum. Great shots....I have lots of great photos of beautiful dead ducks, but some live ones over the decoys would be amazing for a guy like me. Maybe one or two getting hit with shot....... Im a waterfowl addict. Take a look at some of Jeff Coats photos of ducks getting shot. He can somehow get the shot in the photo....its incredible. S.
-
Well, I don't operate like that. When we shoot, ducks fall haha.... Seriously though, I could get you on some birds to photograph very easily. How close do you need them? S.
-
I saw a few snowflakes today.
-
The first one I saw was at Lingham lake. Pretty isolated for southern ON. The second one was about 15km from where this one was spotted. I live about 4km as the crow flies from this one, so it could have easily been the same cat. Once you see that tail, there is no second guessing.....and yeah, gone like a ghost. No way your getting a photo. S.
-
I would love to have someone out with me to take photos of birds working the decoys. I would love to have some good pics of that. Its what duck hunting is all about for me! Great shot! S.
-
I don't understand why there is so much doubt that they are here. Why wouldn't they be? I can tell you for sure I have seen one. Believe me or not, I don't really care, I know what I saw, and I have no doubt what is in that photo is a big cat too. S.

I've never fogged an engine in my life. My 20 year old outboard runs like a top. S.

Do you have a sled?
-
I have been wishing for it since I bought a sled. All you snow haters can thank me for the late arrival of winter, im sure I caused that. It cant get cold soon enough. Bring it, im ready, but my boat is also good to go, so either way i'll make the best of what we get. S.
-
This is right in my neighbourhood. I hope I get to see it. It wouldnt be the first one I seen. I saw another one within 20km of this one, and im positive it was a cougar. S.

I certainly would not be keeping my mouth shut. Its one thing to move in on a good spot someone else is on, but to actually hit their boat.....your not getting away with that without a good ear full at the very least.....if it escalates, they need a good lesson. Im a very easy going guy, a lover, not a fighter, but pure ignorance like that, I will not tolerate. Now, if they appologized, and moved off, I would calm down.....if the ignorance continued, we'd have a problem. The guys that hit my dad and I were so ignorant, they claimed we didnt own the lake, and they could fish wherever the f---- they want. We were anchored on that spot for hours.....it escalated. Quick! S.
-
I would have lost it. I had that happen once on rixe lake, and I thought my old man was going to kill them. If I wasnt running the boat, he would have ran right thru their boat lol. You dont get more ignorant than that. Total bull. Makes me mad just looking at the pic!!!! S.

Id change the belt before tearing apart the clutch. I bet thats what it is. Our VKs at work are the same way when its time for a new belt. A worn out belt can also mess up your clutch. S.

Anyone planning to fish downstream from Montreal?
Sinker replied to John Bacon's topic in General Discussion
Yes, and very effective. Should be used everywhere. The whole idea makes so much sense on so many ways, but engineers cant get thwir heads out of the sand long enough to let a system like that be approved. S. -

The town my dad lives in put in a high tech new sewer system a couple years ago. The town was excited, until they found out it would all end up in the harbour anyways. It was better for the environment before they put it in. Tons of crap gets dumped in the water every day. S. -
Almost 60 hours in the past 3 weeks, but we finally took the stink

Nice! Tell Andy I said hi. Hope to see him on the ice! Just trolling the bay with the pair of you would be a blast, never mind actually catching! S. -
All of this new technology has nothing on good ole, tried and true, EXPERIENCE. S.
