Time to start eating more bass and less pickerel?
Sinker replied to big guy's topic in General Discussion
I'm curious to know how many of the posters who replied here actually got off thier arse and went to the FMZ 17 public meeting regarding the new reg changes that are being proposed??? You all had your chance. It was posted here and on every other fishing site I know of, advertised in the papers etc........ I went, and there was only about 25 people in attendance, and that was including the MNR reps who put on the show. I was a little discusted at the turn out to be quite honest. If your not willing to do something about it, or at the very least, learn a little about what is going on, then don't complain about it now. Your just as much to blame as the guys keeping fish. I'm riding shotgun on the moosebunk train. My family and I like to have a fresh meal of fish once a week. I like to have something different each week as well, be it trout/salmon/eyes/perch/crappies/pike......we like it all. Ask my 7 year old son what he wants for dinner and he'll tell you a fish fry every day!! Do I think my selective harvest of fish to eat harms the fishery?? Absolutly not!!! Sinker -
I prefer selective harvest. I will admit, I'm quite the meat hunter, but I release any spawners. I like to keep the little guys for the table. I'd rather have my 4, 15" eyes, than 4 big ones anyday. That being said, its not every day I can manage a limit of fish. If you looked in my freezer right now, you would find one meal of perch, and two meals of crappies. I don't target panfish again until ice up, so I think I"m ok to keep a few when the bite is on. I eat fish I've caught once a week. There's nothing wrong with that. Its within my legal rights, and I AM selective about what I keep. I also fish for any type of fish swimming, so its spread out quite a bit. Sinker

My Fishing Partner Has Been Side Lined for 8 Weeks
Sinker replied to Mike the Pike's topic in General Discussion
He'll be fishing in no time. When I was around his age, I did the same thing, only off a skateboard. I was fishing in a couple weeks. At least his tiller arm is good to go!! He's a trooper! That looked painful in the pics!!! S. -
If its already painted, you don't need to use the primer. Just give the existing paint a light sand with fine paper and have atter. I painted my boat 4 years ago, and its holding up good so far. I just went over it with the sander and slapped the paint to it. The self etching primer is for bare metal only. Sinker

I must say, that is AWESOME!!! Just curious, how much would it cost to have something like that done? That would make an awesome gift for someone special!!! S.

I'd start with a new fuel filter. Mine did that to me too, and that's what it was. I had to keep pumping the ball to keep her running. It would start just fine after priming the bulb, then stall. A few minutes later it would start fine again. I had to wait for the fuel to get thru the clogged filter each time I started it. S.

There is one at happy holiday house boats. I"m not sure what the price is though. Its just a small launch too.
-
Well, I'll tell ya, if some guy came up to my boat, and even laid a hand on it (or my anchor line) while threatening me, I'd go into self defense mode. I don't care if he's white/yellow/black.....or pink! I think he'd be paddling with his ass back to shore. reporting it now is a waste of time though if you ask me. Too little too late. They should have been on the phone while this guy was threatining them. I'd be going back there every chance I got though, thats for sure!!!! Sinker
-
Your in some beautiful country out there!! Keep the reports coming, I make a point of checking all yours out!! Sinker

Yeah, there could be a float switch in the bilge somewhere, or it could be attached right to the pump. Take another look, or even take a picture and you'll get the right answer here. Sinker

Yep, its in view lake. Just follow 57 east out of cesarea and you can't miss it. Its just a dirt ramp, and its kinda shallow with no dock. Its doable though. Sinker

He was out for whities. I talked to him at the launch first, then he pulled up right beside us and started fishing. They had 2 boats, 5 guys, 2 cameras filming. Bob nailed one almost instantly. He's just a little guy in person eh...... LOL. Sinker
-
did you have the 3 settings set for the right side? If you set them the wrong way I could see them crossing each other maybe? I usually do the riggers first, but I have no reason why....... LOL. Sinker
