  1. What does this do?

  2. John, I find they work best with the Lunker city jigheads that are made for them. Other's just don't sit right in the water, or they break the plastic. We'll have to get out for some slabs and I'll show ya how I rig them. Maybe get a lunker for Team 9 S.
  3. Ditto that! Its not the boat that catches the fish. Pick your days and have atter. A lot of guys around my area think I'm nuts fishing Lake O in my boat, but I pick my days carefully, and try to be prepared for anything. S.
  4. I don't understand why you need a quick connect? Mine is wired front to back with 4ga. No plug, no quick connect. Fuse is about 10" from my battery, and I've never blown it or had any problems. S.
  5. That's what I like to hear Rick!!
  6. Can't wait for the new CHAT!! s.
  7. Last summer was my first season out of my own boat out there. Previous to that, I spent time out there with friends and charters, learning the ropes. Im totally addicted now. If conditions allow it, I'm out there every time from May until hunting season. I catch the odd fish too S.
  8. I've been having a good run with the energizers too. This will be my third season on them, with no issues. I've also had good luck with Walleye1 batteries. If I could find them again, I'd buy them. S.
  9. I use the loop knot for vertical jigging. I use it on a two jig set up, usually with tubes, and mainly for panfish. I find that top tube tied with the loop knot gets me a lot more fish than the bottom jig every time. The tube has a different action, that is for sure. S.
  10. West of rice lake, about 10 mins north of the 401. Kinda between newcastle and port hope, but 10 mins north. A 1 year membership is $100. You can ride all day long in there, and not travel the same trail twice. Its run by Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority. Call the forest center for more info, or check out thier website. www.grca.on.ca Ganaraska Forest Center: 905-797-2721 Trails open may 1st, and stay open until Dec. 15, unless snomobile trials open before then. S.
  11. The Ganaraska forest has 11,000 acres of forest with motorized use after May 1st. I don't know about your area, but there aren't many places left where you can "legally" ride ATV's, in southern Ont. s.
  12. Yep, call hastings marine. Thier prices are usually hard to beat, and they have a great reputation. S.
  13. Go for the yammy. I think there is a way to get a 70hp, to be a 90hp........you'll have to look it up, but I did read that somewhere. S.
  14. I wish it was just an addiction!!! Its soooo much more than that!!
  15. What is walartness? I'm not a big fan of BP either. I just can't justify the gas I burn to get there, then leave with nothing. I can get everything I need locally, and if I can't, my go to guys will order it in for me. S.
  16. I just drove in off the lake an hour ago. The access is getting tricky now, I wouldn't use the one at JP, its done. There are a couple smaller, less used accesses that aren't bad though. Once your on, its a piece of cake on any kind of machine/vehicle. Still 23" of measured ice 12km off shore. The top couple inches are getting soft, but there is still tons of good ice down there. There is still snow on most of the lake, once that's gone, it won't take long for the sun to do its work. This weekend will be no problem for guys on machines. You might get a little wet, but other than that I'd have atter while you can. The fishing was good too. S.
  17. Grab my camera that went for a swim last week while your down there will ya? Its 10Km north of JP, in 70fow......should be fine huh? Thanks!
  18. Set him up with something he can't resist, get him on the property, take vids and pics, and fry the silly!! S.
  19. I'll be out there tomorrow and thursday Terry, I'll let ya know how its looking. I don 't know about driving wheeled vehicles out, but you guys should be fine on sleds. S.
  20. Red dots mean no tresspassing, not no hunting. I'll post my land any way I want, and I"ll do whatever I want on it too. I would be in touch with local authorities regarding a neighboor who is harrassing me, and interferring with lawful hunting. If the guy is taking pictures and video, that's almost stalking isn't it? I would be over there having words with him for sure, that's total Bull, and I wouldn't have any part of it. S.
  21. Well, they're lucky to have you Cliff!! Good luck! S.
  22. Steve, give Casey's a call. It may be listed as the Port Bolster Inn. Leona will take good care of ya's! S.
  23. I'm pretty sure they were right in the first pic, now that I look at the second pic. Its hard to tell from a picture. The flat side of the blades should be on the ice. Bud, you need new blades. Those are not going to cut ice. You can do anything you want, shim them, sharpen them, whatever, they aren't going to cut as good as new ones. For the $25 they cost, its worth it. Especially now with thick ice everywhere. They will last all next season no problem, as long as you take care of them, and don't bang them around. S.
  24. If you can believe this, ours died today too!!
  25. Yep, they're upside down for sure. They're not going to cut ice, even if you put them on right, you need new ones. Make sure you put them on with the flat side down. Watch your fingers, they're really sharp! S.
