  1. Nice dark fish!! Your lucky to live up there man!! S.
  2. Nice add Some nice fish there! S.
  3. Any decent graph will display in real time if you set it up right. I don't understand what you flasher guys are talking about when you say graphs don't display in real time.......have you tried one thru the ice? Just askin....... I can see every movement of my jig, and mark every fish, in real time on my graph. There is history on the screen, but if you turn up your chart and ping speed, its gone in a second. What happened 5 seconds ago is gone in 5 seconds S.
  4. That is the million dollar question. There is no sense moving anything if it tows alright and your vehicle can handle it. S.
  5. Your stronger than me Pete!! Keep atter bud!! I gotta kick this nasty habit too!! S.
  6. Every landfill will eventually get into water of some sort. The only reason any of this made the news is probably because of the lake simcoe assessments that are going on. Without monitoring these things, nobody will ever know what is going on in the lakes. Next question is what are they going to do about it?? My bet is on not much. S.
  7. Nice report. Just wait until you see all the people around your buddies hut now Interesting set up with the rods off the ceiling. I bet its really sensitive, and easy to pull the fish up quick. Its nice when you can keep the same depth setting for the crappies. Sometimes a foot makes all the difference with them. S.
  8. Its worth it for what i get out of it though. I can travel most ATV trails without even spinning a wheel, snowy roads are a pleasure to drive on, and once I get off the trail and hit the pavement, I can blow away most other rice burners I was sceptical at first, but so far, the forester has been unstoppable, and I've had it in some crazy places!! It tows my boat just fine too, so I can't complain at all. I'm getting around 500km/60L tank of premium, so its still not bad for what you get. Comparable to most V-6 motors with similar HP, but with the best AWD technology going. S.
  9. What did you want to catch?
  10. Any small engine repair shop should be able to get parts.
  11. Take a look at subaru!! I've got nothing but good to say about my forester XT. I'll never go back to domestics either. Been there, done that, not happening again. We were strictly GM for years, with nothing but regrets. Now we're driving a subaru and a VW, with nothing but good to say about both. Not an issue on my forester for 140,000km. Just brakes and tires. The wifes VW is on 90K, and same deal, not an issue whatsoever. If you want folding back seats, and AWD, make sure and check out the subaru's. S.
  12. The difference is you WILL get to use that baitcaster as much as you plan on. I have no problem with the price of the trail pass. Its the weather that burns me. Bring on the snow!! S.
  13. 10% of lures catch 99% of the fish. If I only had lures that caught fish, my tackle selection would be pretty minimal. S.
  14. I wonder how much the fine is for tresspassing?
  15. You would think they would offer a weekend pass, or weekly pass or something. All these people buying passes, no snow, no maintenance..............where does the money go? HMMMMMMMMM S.
  16. -19C here right now.......
  17. You need insurance, ownership, and a valid plate/sticker. Don't forget your helmet. S.
  18. Yep, water temp thru the ice is pretty much the same all season, and throughout the whole water column. The warmer water will actually be 4 degrees C, and on bottom. Barometric pressure, and lunar cycles will still effect fish though. S.
  19. Keep it going Glen. They'll either ban us all, or get chat up and running. Maybe we should go on strike??
  20. SLACKERS!!!! I'm sure you guys have better things to do, but I really enjoy the tuesday night chat!!! Ger 'er done!! S.
  21. What roy said is so true. When making a big purchase it used to be cash was the way to go if you could. Nowadays, they make all the money on your payments. Its Bull. I try to own everything I have. I don't have much, but I don't make payments on anything either. The planet is going to crap, I tell ya! S.
  22. Nice work Emil, wish I could have made it!! S.
  23. Well the smaller boat will be much more versitile than that big one, that's for sure. If you can, look for a 16ft aluminum tiller that fits your budget. I've found that a 16fter is the most versitile size of boat, and the tiller leaves tons of open space for people or gear. You can fish some pretty big water, and still hit the small back lakes too! S.
  24. How about fishing gear back in the day? I had a freakin bamboo pole with a cork bobber on it until I moved to Ontario. I was quite happy with it too.....most kids had to make thier own!! I got up here, and the old man bought me a mitchell 300 combo for my 14th birthday. I thought it was the greatest thing in the world at that time. We had a 16ft cedar strip, with a 33 1/2 johnson that was the fastest boat on the lake! LOL. You could waterski behind that thing! I couldn't wait to get up in the morning, just so I could get outside, and my parents had to DRAG me in the house for dinner. I haven't seen a game of road hockey for years. That's all we did.......we'd even play at night!! Rain days never kept us in the house.....if anything we had MORE fun in the rain. Yup, the times have changed, but I still keep things as simple as possible. Most people think I'm nuts S.
