  1. Omg......waaaay Too early!! Bass = Barf!! At least real fish with teeth can be caught thru a hole in the ice!! S.
  2. I'm still having theme issues. I have to manually change it everrytime I log in. I'm primarily on mobile, but I have to manually change it each time. S.
  3. I have no advice about the sled, but how was the fishin on Joe? I haven't been up there for years. Headed up for a few days the first week of march. GL with the sled. Its always that cyl that burns up. Not. A lot you can do really. Maybe make two lighter trips? Should be too bad to repair, as long as no junk got in the crankcase. S.
  4. I can't see the pic. An early. 80s alpine would have an orange cowling on it, and a double track. We have 2 of them we use for grooming X country ski trails. They're bullet proof.
  5. Yet another reason to buy a starcraft.......sorry,I had to!! Make sure to use a self etching primer before painting bare aluminum. S.
  6. Well, maybe if you mentioned where you planned on fishing, or at least. What you intend to catch, someone might chime in with help. Napane....you have quinte, and beaver lake to the north. Both have walleye and pike. GL! S.
  7. A one piece fills up quick when the zipper is down. I have had a mustang, and now a HH. I find the HH suit fits nicer, but the mustang was built better. I wore my camo mustang suit for 15 years befor it wore out. I still have it. I think my next one will be the arctic armour in camo. S.
  8. Ya, there is a lot of snow. Hopefully this mild weather will knock it down some. S.
  9. The Alaskans are a little skinny. Check out some other manufactureres. There is a lot more than just Lund out there. Wouldn't be my first choice, thats for sure. S.
  10. Not yet, going to give it a couple days to pack down first. The forester doesn't like to push snow over the roof for too long lol. Ask me how I know It is a great ice machine though. Goes thru a lot of snow, and its light. S.
  11. Check out the Starcraft tillers as well. They are sweeet!! S.
  12. Ya, I hope those guys get nailed to the fullest. Also, about insureance, yes, you are covered. Well, I am anyways. S.
  13. I use a slip float. I will use a proper tip up with a spreader for whities if I'm fishing in a hut, but even then most times the slip float is more effective.
  14. Stay away from anything with a sand point. That usually means the well is shallow, in sand, and could dry up. Even a drilled well can be trouble. With that said, Any quality of water can be treated. Its worth taking a sample into a lab to have it analyzed for quality, and definitly contact the health dept for info on water quality in the area your looking. I would be more concerned with the treatment side of the water, and the quantity. Some conservation authorities will come and do a draw down of your well to. See the recovery rate, for free. Its worth asking. Once you have water, the next thing to research is the septic system. Ask for pumping records too. I've lived rural my whole life. I consider peterborough going to the city, and I only go there if I have to. I have 2 stop signs on my way to work, and 3 on the way home. You will put miles on your vehicles, but most of them will be highway miles. No stop and go. Your kids will be away from the city rif raf too. I'd live in a tent in a woodlot before I moved into "town". Once you go rural, you will never go back!! S.
  15. My hunting partner bought one this year. 16fter with a 40 yammy tiller. Nice rig. I like it. S.
  16. I prefer building a quincee to a tent if its that cold. Nice and toasty in there with just a couple candles, and you don't have to worry about burning it down. Another plus is you can use it again later in the season if you want to. s.
  17. The set up I run at work is radiant heat, in concrete, with propane boilers. It takes forever to heat up a space, and it never feels warm in there. Maybe I'm just used to the warmth of my airtight wood insert. I dunno, but its never cold in here, and I might burn 2 bush cords per winter. I usually cut 3 and have lots left over. I've had wood my whole life. I don't think I could NOT have a fire going in the house. Its a part of my lifestyle I guess. S.
  18. I would really miss it if I didn't have a fire of some sort, but i hear ya, its a lot of work. Been burning wood as long as you, but I'm not giving in yet. Gas/oil, and even propane puts a dent in the pocket book. I'd rather do the work! S.
  19. Great average size splake for sure! Thanks for the report. Fishing with family is always great. Ya can't beat a back lake trout trip, the shore lunch fire under the pines, nice fresh snowfall.....beauties man! That's what my icefishing dreams are made of. Pounding on the trout is always a great bonus! Nice work! S.
  20. I read thru that thread once, wasn't interested, haven't been back. Doesn't bother me at all. Kinda like this one....read it, not interested, won't be back. CYA S.
  21. I heat with wood mostly, with radiant electric as back up. What is it you don't like about wood? I enjoy the work that goes with it. I do a little here and there, just to keep myself busy and away from the kids lol. It is a lot of work, and its not cheaper once you factor in your time/effort, but if you enjoy it like I do, Its the way to go. I also cut my wood from my property, so that helps a lot with the cost. The mess gets a little tiring, but its not that bad. S.
  22. Do you have the iceducer for it?
  23. Yikes! How old is that hut? That's a bad crack dude! Your going to have to drill it, and stitch it up with wire first, then try and seal it. It will look like frankenstien when your done. You'd think that would be warrantied, no? That's rough! S.
  24. Explain out a metal roof is a bandaid? I put a metal roof on a camp about 20 years ago. Strapped over shingles with 2x4. Still standing, and still waterproof. I had metal roof on my last house. Greatest thing ever. I hate shingles. I wouldn't take them down. S.
  25. The east coast also has a cormmorant problem! Someone should do something with those seals. They look tasty to me S.
