  1. We get most of our walleyes now suspended over deep water, so jigging doesn't work too well. I was up the first weekend of august for one day, and we got 3 beauty walleye trolling the evening into night with a husky Jerk scatter rap #10. They work well. The deep husky jerks, and tail dancers are also good choices. Might be different at your end of the lake, as is shallow, but our end is deep, so they suspend in the thermocline. S.
  2. I've never been down that way. We are at the very far east end in coxvale. I prefer to troll. I don't jig much, and when I do its because trolling isn't working, and I use a jig and minnow. I don't know that end of th alke at all.
  3. Did you call? These are real people, who work all day, Id bet they rarely get on their email or website, but if you called they would hook you up. Cerka is good too. My neighbor has a cerka trailer that i love. S.
  4. Where are you staying? I've fished there a fair bit. Good walleye lake, but I never target bass. Theres also pike in there. I mainly troll for walleyes. Mostly in the evening into the night. We do well with taildancers, husky jerks, and scatter raps. Basically anything that runs 12-15ft, and trolling over deep water. Jigging is good too. Lots of structure, shoals, and islands, so I find trolling more effective for locating fish, then jig those areas. I mainly fish the east end. Good luck, you will love it up there. Beauty country! S.
  5. You should have went to eastons. They have them custom made to fit, with the mounts installed, and EZ lube hubs for cheaper than the crap princess auto axles with no mounts, and standard bearing sets. S.
  6. Yeah, I'm on my third as well.....and last apparently lol
  7. Me too. My V1 pedal is starting to go. I guess if I dont find a used one somewhere I'm outta luck, eh? That really sucks. Time for I-pilot I guess. Better blow the dust out of my wallet.....ouch!
  8. Good stuff Cliff. Nice country up there. Fish are just a bonus. S.
  9. Put them away fully charged and clean. Good to go. Boat batteries are either in use or being charged. S.
  10. I do my best to stick to dirt ramps that nobody uses to avoid all the gong shows. Works well for me lol S.
  11. Beauty!
  12. Land O lakes. Check out Frontenac Township. They have some great camp sites. S.

Do you have any proof otherwise? I'd be my paycheck on that! S.
  14. Ive been using my smoker a lot lately too. How can you not? Mine is a masterbuilt electric with the digital controls. It works really good. I'm super happy with it. Brian, I always finish my ribs on the grill. Just to get the sauce browned up really, the ribs/chicken is already fully cooked. I usually do 5 hours at 240 for ribs. Fish I do 190. I do the indian candy brown sugar/salt recipe on the fish. Apple chips. Love it. A bit more work in prep, but man it is soooo good!! S.

I know people in thier 60's, 70's and 80's who have been smoking weed their whole lives. All good, hard-working, productive members of society. Its the most harmless drug there is. More beneficial than harmful. And no, I'm not a pot head, chronic stoner at all. I have tried it many times, and enjoyed it socially, but I am by no means a regular user. I have, however, seen it do many good things for other people, and support its use. S.
  17. I replaced an axle on another trailer for basically the same price in canadian dollars. The 2000lb axle, EZ lube hubs, and spring kit, custom made for my trailer, was just over $200 canadian. Also from EASTONS on hwy 115 north bound. I've had tons of trailer work, and purchases from them over the years, and they have always gone out of their way to make things right. Also have a 6x10 galv. landscape trailer they built for me. The thing is a beast. Not a single issue with it in 12 years just replace tires, inspect bearings once in a while, and giver. I've been lucky to never have a trailer problem while on the road, my whole life (i'm sure I just jinxed that). Never a bearing failure, never a tire blow out, nothing. Lucky....probably.....preventative maintenance? Absolutely. The most common problem I see on A LOT of trailers is the inside seal blown out, because of bearing buddies. The trick I was taught by a bearing guru is just look at the inside seals on the back of the wheels. If no grease is leaking out, no water can get in, so the bearings are fine. There is NO NEED TO ADD GREASE to a bearing that's not leaking out grease. Just resist the urge to pick up the grease gun and give them a shot of grease. They don't need it. Keep your seals in tact, and drive it like you stole it. S.
  18. Atta boy!!
  19. Ask for Timken bearings. The rest are crap. Oshawa bearings will have them, along with most other bearing shops. I just had a trailer done for $150 at Eastons on Hwy 115. New bearings, seals, and races. I'd rather pay and wait an hour and let someone else deal with the grease. LOL S.
  20. I run everything from the tiller. S.
  21. Check out some marinas and trailer parks in the area. Lots of great places in the land o lakes. Frontenac county has some awesome camp sites as well, but no hydro. S.
  22. It all boils down to money. Bass=money. Period. I hate bass fishing for that reason alone. S.
  23. Nice. I love those inland bows. Awesome fighters, and great eating too. What did you catch it on? S.
  24. I'm not far from you and there are lots and lots of them if you get out in the woods. I don't generally keep too many, as they aren't my favourite to eat, but there are lots when conditions are right. S.
  25. Its hot. Fish die. It happens. Could have been anglers, could have been anything. There are scientific reports that say good fish handling is far more superior to water temps. I know of one musky I killed with a deep hook, and there was nothing I could do about it. It was a small fish, deep hooked right in the gills. What can you do? Have all my other muskies released fine? As far as I know, yes, but who really knows?? I see a lot more people fishing muskies these days, so there has to be more rookies, and instagram stars more concerned with social media likes than the fishes well being. Mine don't leave the net. Unless its a big one, I rarely even take a pic. My musky net doesn't leave the boat, and I don't fish bass at all. S.
