  1. Well, thats why your not getting them. They are at the other end of the lake. I Launch in caygeon or Nogies creek. S.
  2. I do 6 to 1 brown sugar and salt. Comes out great. Not salty at all. S.
  3. Your home lake has awesome fall fishing. One of my favourite fall lakes!! Go DEEP! S.
  4. And a tiger to boot. Nice one!!
  5. Check out the offshore tadpoles. They also work really good on light gear for getting deep. S.
  6. There is way too much distracted driving on the water. Most fishing boats have 2 huge graphs right in front of their faces everywhere they go. half the people aren't even looking where they are going. A friend of mine got run down by a boat 2 years ago on rice lake. The guy was just cruising along and not watching where he was going, and smashed right into my buddies anchored boat. Talk about scary. Lucky nobody was hurt, or killed. They had a cooler full of beer in the boat with them too. Its crazy. I spend my time watching where everyone else is going, not so much where I'm going. I was always taught to make my moves early and obvious, and it works. S. S.
  7. You can't regulate stupid. Its everywhere. People are breeding it. All you can do is watch your own back. S.
  8. Not improper fueling, improper blower. He didn't blow the fumes out before turning the key. Any fumes in there, and a small spark....KABOOM. Happens fairly often. S.
  9. No night fishing august 15th. 8pm-8am I believe. S.
  10. So you trailer it to the lake?
  11. Been trying to get to the end of this for days. Hope to have enough screen time to finish it soon. I think I need to start over to absorb it all. Love your adventures man. We need to fish soon. S.
  12. I still have mine from the late 80's. Got my first centre pin in 91, ordered it from the UK. Cost me a fortune. I sold it for more than I paid for it 20 years later lol.....Haven't fished the tribs in over 20 years, but used to be hardcore into it! Got my boat in 93 and never went back. Those diawa reels were, and still are bullet proof. The stradics are awesome. I have a couple symetres that have been amazing too. A decent shimano will last you along time. Pay more once, or less over and over and over and over......kind like yamaha's. My dad always told me it takes a rich man to buy cheap tools. S.
  13. Muskies are getting fat! I feel fall in the air! S.
  14. That thing is sick! I love it! Is it street legal too? S.
  15. You should! Its like nowhere I've ever been, and I've been coast to coast! S.
  16. My 93 40hp mariner is a yamaha engine, merc drive. Made in Japan. I replaced it with a new 40hp yammy this year, but old faithful is still running as good as ever. The new one is a dream in comparison though....so smooth, quiet, and trolls like a dream! S.
  17. Theres the east coast, then theres the real east coast....you going all the way to the island? Take pics of all the yammies, hondas, and etecs. The number of mercs will be slim. S.
  18. My first thought as well.
  19. Well, that was a tease!
  20. I wouldn't even consider a boat with a merc. I almost did, because it was a great deal, but my gut told me otherwise. Go to the east coast and count how many mercs there are, compared to yamaha. ....or any coast for that matter. S.
  21. No need to apologize. I just haven't had good experiences with Mercs. All Brands are good, and they all have lemons. I had no trouble with my 1993 40hp yamaha built Mariner, and just repowered with a 2019 40hp Yamaha. The old one is still running like a top, and hanging in my garage. I just can't bring myself to sell it lol I really like the suzukis too. S.
  22. Awesome stuff Cliff. Its great to see you two out enjoying what you love! S.
  23. That would be a major downgrade imo. Mercs don't hold a candle to yammies. S.
  24. I always put the rod below the reel in my saltys. Full cork handles rule. Even for salmon I put the rod in the holder below the reel. S.
  25. My yamaha engines get serviced at Tuckers Marine. Actually, that's a lie. They haven't needed any service LOL......but they are good guys. Neil will hook you up with any parts you need. They are in Apsley, but can ship parts. If its pumping water as normal, I wouldnt bother until you shut it down for the winter. If you have leaky lower unit seals, I'd get that fixed asap, or at least before freeze up. S.
