I didn't realize it was such a task to fill a reel with line. I've done it both ways with no issues, but usually lay the spool flat on the floor and wind it on. S.

Right. On TJ. That's a great run. Would you say this was a better than averagge season for your area? S.

Simcoe Perching... Suggest me some baits! Please!

Finesse minnows in arkansas shiner. That's all I use. Some days they want a different colour, but that's my usual go to. Look shallow, like 6fow or less. S. -
Minden/ Haliburton Ice Out lakers this weekend.

Don't forget diving cranks for covering specific depths. I get most of my spring lakers on tail dancers and walleye divers and the likes. Flatlined on braid they will run 15-20ft no problem all day long. S. -
Can't take my mind off of spring whitefish

I don't know what's up with the missing whities. Make sure you have a good anchor with lots of rope. S. -
I got out for a couple hours before work. Had a couple respond to calling, but ran out of time.

Scugog for sure. You have a boat? S.

Schumacher makes a great charger. I'd go with that one. The one I use is a nautilus, automatic deep cycle battery charger. 10/2 amp. It charges the battery to 80% on 10A, then switches to 2A to top them off. Works great. I've had schumachers as well though, and they are a great charger. One of the best IMO. S.

Once your in too far, your bunks aren't doing squat! They are there to guide the boat on the trailer. S.
-
I still think your putting that trailer too far in. If your in water up to your belly button, your doing something wrong. My old man and I can load/unload a 26ft cuddy in about a minute flat. No load guides. Just put the trailer in the right spot and its easy. 5000lbs of boat, and the same V8 engine. Guys look at us like we're crazy all the time. I've had many people ask me "is that trailer in far enough?". S.
-
We winch a 5000lb boat on the trailer. Get a bigger winch lol S.
-
I also speak highly of hastings. They have some great deals, and their service guys are top notch! S.
-
Have u tried not putting the trailer so deep and using the WINCH that is installed? Biggest problem I see at boat launches is guys backing their boat trailers in waaaaaay to far. Just sayin.... I've never needed the guides, and 99% of boat trailers out there don't either. You just have to find the sweet spot when putting the trailer in the water. S.

Drove thru seagrave today, looked fine. Normal spring level, but not flooding. S.

I got some from hastings marine, and I'm sure a friend of mine got some at. Home depot in ptbo. S.

Whoever it was that said the subaru's can't pull hasn't driven one! Mine pulls my 16ft deep and wide starcraft with a 40 tiller, bowmount, 2 deep cycles, and all the gear from ice out till sept, then from sept till ice up, I haul the boat plus 6 dozen decoys and all the rest of the gear in it,no problem. I tour all over the place with it a couple times a week. I also have more torque and HP than the escape. Sorry this has nothing to do with the escape, but you can't go wrong with a forester for what your looking at! My hunting partner just traded in his escape because of never ending problems. My forester hauled his 16 lund fury home for him when it left him stranded on the side of the road. Don't knock it till you try it, and if you don't know, don't speak! I've put 260k on the forester, and I tow a lot, carry two kids and a 100lb lab all over the place. I also have a 6x10 landscape trailer I drag around weekly. No problem, tons of power, great brakes, and super reliability. Ask anyone who has one! I don't get excellent mileage, but a bit better than the escape with the 6, but I'm turning 4 wheelss all the time. S.

I hope trent severn doesn't screw up with all this water!! They usually do when we get these flood warnings. Its the same every year we have a good spring! They will hold it back till the eyes spawn, then let it all go and leave eggs high and dry! I hope they hold the lakes at max capacity, cause as soon as its in lake O, its gone for good! S.

anybody use old motor oil for their chainsaw bar oil? NF

It will also clog up the oil pump on your saw. S. -
Who knows anything about any small lakes around the Grand?
Sinker replied to Shloim's topic in General Discussion
I know nothing about that area, but I do know this: if you spent as much time actually fishing these spots, as you do asking about them, you would know. You won't get good spots handed to you, you have to get out there and find them yourself S. -
The problems happen when all that water gets to the great lakes. Then its gone forever! S.
-
You need a subaru forester dude! S.
-
Ha.....you got a deal! S.

Come on Davey buoy, criminals have right too......don't they? Not in my house! I will happily go to jail for defending my family or home. If someone breaks in my place while I'm here they better be a good shot, and really quick! I will be shooting first, and asking questions later. My friend and his wife are still suffering from their home invasion. His first mistake was taking the time to call the cops. If he'd spent that time unlocking one of his guns, he'd be in much better shape! S.
-
Cool, I might be in the area. Thanks for the heads up! S.

I wwouldnt strip it, just sand, clean, and re-paint. Stripping it to bare metal is a whole ton of work, and then you will need a sself etching primer before you can paint it again. Just sand with a fine grit paper, wipe clean with an acetone soaked rag, and paint. S.
