Ice Out, Turn Over & Implications on Fishing
Sinker replied to mirogak's topic in General Discussion
You will be lucky if the ice is off that area by next friday. I havve a cottage in wilberforce, and the lakes are still ice covered. The shore lines are free, but I have my doubts your going to see much good fishing. Sorry. I've been fishing that area for 25 years now. Give it till the first/second week of may. S. -
Ice Out, Turn Over & Implications on Fishing

All ya need to know about ice out trout is to find the warmest water in the lake. The warmest water is where the bait will be, and the fish will be there too. Shallow, dark bottom bays, weeds, wood, and sand are my go to locations for spring trout. Generallly, the northern shores will warm first. Play the wind as well, the warmer, lighter water will move around with the wind. Sometimes one degree temp change can mean the difference between a skunk, and the trip of a life time. I like to wait for a few consecutive days of warm weather before going troutin. Once spring flows have stabilized, and temps start to rise, things get active. Until then, the fishing is tough! S. -

Right on Phil! All these guys are concerned about the criminal!! S. -
I'd rather the crackhead thought twice about my $20, because there is a chance I could be armed. The way it is now, they KNOW I'm not armed! I have a friend who was home invaded. 3 guys with guns showed up at 2am, asking for "the drugs". Clearly, they had the wrong place. They kicked in his door, beat him and his wife within an inch of their lives, and left with nothing before the police got there. This guy has guns, but was afraid to get one, in fear of getting himself in trouble. This country is going to pot! S.

Sweet! I got out today for some slabs. It was a lot of work to keep on them, but we managed a good feed for our efforts. Lots of small ones, but we managed to weed out a limit of keepers S. -

Let reason prevail? Its bleeding hearts like you that think these people deserve rights. Someone set a bomb, with the intention of killing innocent, harmless people. Women and children!! So far we have an 8 year old boy dead, his mother seriously injured, and his sister with her leg blown off......and you want to talk reasoning?? Give Your head a shake. The person that did this deserves far worse than a simple execution. I know there are many others that agree, but won't write it here. Speak up. Its coculd be your mother, son, or daughter next! You call this fear mongering?? Innocent people were slaughtered for no reason! If you don't fear that, dare I ask what you do fear? S. -

Ok, so public execution was the wrong way to put it. That, I will agree with. Maybe execution was more suited to what I was thinking. I'd have no issues with that whatsoever. S. -

What's your suggestion, Grimace? I'm open minded. Maybe public execution IS a little harsh, but it would sure get some attention! Eye for an eye works for me. S. -

You'd rather these types walk? Maybe that's what kids are missing nowadays? S. -

I'm with ya moxie. Whack 'em! Nobody who could do something like that deserves to live. That may sound harsh, but just imagine if it was your mother, father, brother, sister that was just killed by these pieces of garbage! Get rid of them. They won't be missed. S. -
Need some advice (boat performance related)
Sinker replied to Tayzak15's topic in General Discussion
I don't think 20hp is enough for any of those boats. The 16 lund fury is rated for a 40. A buddy of mine has one, and after running it quite a bit, I wouldn't go any less. I can't say much for the alumacraft, but you will not be happy with an under powered boat, and it can be out right dangerous in the wrong conditions. S -
No, not after each use, with any deep cycle. You can go a whole season without adding any, and most do.
-
More guns-less crime makes nothing but sense to me. Would you invade someones home if you knew they had access to their guns? Would you try to rob me if I had a .45 strapped to my belt? Legal gun owners aren't the problem with guns. S.
-
I refused to do it. I'm driving with an expired sticker to prove it. S.
-
More important than the battery, get a proper deep cycle battery charger, and make sure to charge your battery after every use. Brand of battery isn't really important, but a group 27 size will suit your needs, and then somme. The kirklands from costco are great, and the price is right! S.

Bill, this is for a PAL renewal. They're free till may 1st. After that $60. S.

Is this a merc bashing thread now? S.

I think if you ask around, most trailer parks have camp sites, and docking. I'm not a big fan of provincial parks. Too many rules to break! S.
-
I'm done! 23 taps, 24 litres finished. Most ever for me. Great season, glad its over lol! S.
-
Exactly! The only way to go if your installing rod holders on a boat IMO. Sooooo many options once the tracks are installed! S.
-
No, the tracks aren't "required", bbut they sure make things easy to remove for storage, transport, of if you want to take the kids tubing etc. I don't think the alumacraft has rails either, but they do have some sort of system for mounting accessories. S.
-
I think you'd be better off staying at a trailer park myself. Lots of them have docking.
