Believe it or not, I come here for the non fishing/tech threads. I have learned a lot from people here. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the reports, and pics, but there is a lot more going on here than just fishing. S.

Yes, driving a turbo is very different. Especially a turbo diesel. You will find the diesel seems sluggish, but wait until you come to a hill....you won't even know its there. I don't know anything about that jeep, or the engine, but when I first got my turbo, I was expecting a lot more jam off the hop. Mine really starts pulling at around 4000 rpms, and hauls ass to 6500. Seems gutless under 3000. S.

Rice gets tough this time of year for eyes. They're there, but you have to figure them out. A lot of guys swear by deep diving cranks on deep flats, but my success doing that hasn't been great. Deep water, or deep weeds is where your going to find them. I almost always fish worm harnesses along main lake weed edges and do fine. Last time I was out it was tough, but a cold front had just passed, and it was too windy to have proper boat control, so the slow fishing was to be expected. We still got a few eyes, and a couple nice smallies. Always something to catch in there. I hear guys are doing well on muskies in the otonabee river as well. S.

Have you tried Eastons on hwy 115 N? They make a good trailer. I highly reccomend galvanized too. S.

If your trolling a lot with that engine, I would be adding seafoam to every tank, just to keep the fuel system clean. At trolling speeds, your burning more oil than you really need, so it tends to gum things up, and cause problems down the road. Seafoam really helps with carbon build up in two strokes. I swear by the stuff. S.

Yep, its slowed down, but the fish are still there. Find the main lake deep edges. We got a few one night last week dragging harnesses, but I haven't really been fishing it much the last couple weeks. S.

Yep, couldn't tell ya about customer service. I haven't needed any. I know back about 20yrs ago, when I first starrted using lowrance, the birds were a joke. Sure, they've come a long way, but lowrance is decades ahead of them in the sonar/navigation game. S.

I do an improved clinch-improved clinch and I've never had it fail. Maybe I'm just lucky, but it works great for me with any set up, or line diameter. S.

My lowrances work great. one of them. Is over 10yrs old and its my favourite one......go figure! I never liked the birds either. S.

The second link are the ones I used, but they were camo. I got them for $90 and used them for 3 seasons of duck hunting. I never like the stocking foot waders. The feet wore out on every pair I owned. I don't do the river thing any more, but I spend a fair amount of time in waders. My preference is boot foot, with the biggest lugs on the soles I can find. Right now I have red heads. Can't remember the name of them, but you don't want to be hiking a trib in them. Standing balls deep in water in below zero temps is no problem tho...... S.

I personally can't stand stocking foot waders, but that's just my preference, and most times I'm in waders, its cold, and I'm hunting ducks. I have used the explore neoprene camo waders from CT, and honestly, they lasted just as long as any other waders I've evver owned. S.
