  1. That sounds like some great fishing too me
  2. Why commit too buy the cow when you can get the milk for free
  3. Don't worry Moe, half the fun with boats is all the fun playing around. The seafoam should help you out, I had an old 1954 engine at one time for my tinny. Took me forever to understand how much oil mixture it needed. User groups said it depended on the personality of the engine.. mine justed needed a little leaner.
  4. The lake is OK but lots of weeds fishng is great
  5. http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/info_sht/t22.htm Until the DNC list is up and running, call the resort and get yourself removed.
  6. WOW, I forget to read for one day on the weekend and see what I miss. Great catch. One for the our record books anyway
  7. I do like Lew said. with the photo copy. Keeping the original on the boat might not be a good idea, gets wet, stolen etc. I was told too keep a photo-copy by the dealer. I have never had an issue yet with the photo copy so far. The amount of times I get checked on all lakes I double make sure I have everything ready
  8. So can someone give me the exact GPS location, colour of the prefered bait, what depth, what hook size, and maybe a ride out there. Sometimes not every question will get a response. No ask me the place the fish apparently are not biting. I bet there would be a few post's with that
  9. Safety in numbers hardly ever go out on the big lakes when no one else is out.. Have GPS, VHF, lifejackets etc.. Always good advice, way too many people are getting killed one boats needlessly
  10. Thanks Jedi, I was going to comment on this earlier, but got busy. My boat has a 4 person 1200lb plate, but the next year the same model etc had a 5 person plate with more weight. I asked the dealer and they said when they submitted it too the coast guard thats what they put?? When I take kids out, I insist that a parent comes with the small kids as I am the captin resposible for the operation it's hard to watch the kids and drive etc. 2 parents and +me and 2 kids puts me over my "limit" but the boat is more than safe. Never overload, boat safety comes first.
  11. My family has booked a cottage just around the corner from there, Thanks for the info that web site game me lots of information too.
  12. Stick with the 8lb, big balls (insert giggle here) are nice but on a manuel it gets tough reeling them in. With out a sounder it will be really hard to fish as you don't know what depth you are in or what depth the fish are holding at. Get the sounder before heading out spoons, plugs, spin doctors they all work well.. some days its one over the other, Play safe have fun
  13. Hey All: Heading up to Port Loring mid July and was looking for some help.. Has anyone stayed up there or been to the town, is there an internet cafe or cell phone coverage? Does anyone have a chart of Caribou lake or a rough chart. It would save me some time driving around Any help or good information you can provide would be great. Thanks Lexx
  14. Is this a "pull my finger joke" had my pinky finger rebent. took a long time to become strong enough to use,
  15. The weather was not co-operating for the long weekend then Finaly on Canada day light winds and sunshine. Time for some lake "O" Bronte salmon fishing. Started at 80" and worked my way out too 150 then back and forth, not too many hooks around yet but did have a large on follow my bait for a while. It was the first time that I really got too see one follow the boat on the sounder. I watched the big hook at 100' come crusing up too my bait at 60' stay there for about 1 min then head back to the deep. Followed the boat like jaws right behind the boat so the finder saw the entire thing. I did manage to pick up these 2 and a few knock offs, Its still early but lots of bait clouds out there, Going to be a good Salmon year
  16. With that rig you are fine in light winds etc, I would not head too far out and watch the weather, You need a depth finder I would head out too 80' and stay around that area, Bronte is a great place cause of the drop off is close in shore. PM me if you need more particulars, I am not a hardcore spoon puller but I am down there about 10-15 times a year I will be posting a bronte update shortly. Stay tuned
  17. Some people think just cause someone is of different colour they are "rapeing" the resourse. If you have a fishing tag or are under age, take a picture and post it here so we can tell him a thing or 2 about fishing regs. Take as many sunfish as you want under the regs. Don't worry they will make more, and more and more and more....... Sunfish taste great (so I was told) just not so fun to clean.
  18. LOL, you guys are too funny. Nice fish
  19. Nice report cliff, For the bass guy, sometimes not only pro guys forget manners. I think it was just rude manners at the lauch ramp. Happens all the time,
  20. Now if all dealers were like that, Congrats
  21. As much as I have an issue with Native's etc (only the ones breaking the laws and not getting charged). I actually think this may be a good thing. It brings it out into the open, makes fish management more transparent. This type of activity has been going on in the past but behind doors. The Natives need to get more involved in the activites and business you just can't have them sitting on a reserve with no sourse of income. Maybe its a good thing, natives managing a resourse that affects there income. Or I just could be looking at the brighter side of life..
  22. WOW Excellent pics.. got too love top water I may need to try this Bog you talk about
  23. Excellent too meet you, your wife and your great dogs. Glad you had a great time, see you next year
