  1. Yup we get rid of our refineries ,stop the pipe lines and wonder why we depend on the rest of the world for oil

  2. They definitely lost me as a participant when they chased away non resident fishermen by charging outrageous prices for launching and parking

  3. Always looking for a supplier and always want in Ontario or at most,Canada. I came across this site and it is located in Vancouver. They had free shipping over $100. It doesnt take long for a $100 to add up. So why not, give them a look over and their pricing is very fair and lower then some others. TOGENS FLY SHOP. Back from a few hours on the ice and I got mail today. I am locked and loaded for a while now. Also,my hook order came in from LureMaking. Giddy up go. Time to get a tying .

  5. $100 free shipping is hard to beat, but it is nice to be able to browse the the packages to find what works best for your needs. Here's a couple I also like. flymart.ca -> $350 free shipping, has some good sales, really good selection of materials canadiantubeflies.net -> $50 free shipping, less selection but they have some products that are hard to find elsewhere

  6. Been a long time customer, I still miss hand picking things in a fly shop though. There's always that perfect package of fur or feathers. Calf tail is the worst for range of quality One lad at SAIL looked at me funny the other day when I asked for the entire hook to be pulled down for dark brown bucktail, found 1 real good one and a bunch of low grades

  9. Thx Brian. I have used a drop shot rig on other occasions/situations with just a sinker on the end. I just was not sure what akaShag was describing. He has now clarified. thx to both of you. I might give those Meegs a try as well.

  11. I remember that trip when you had the old double cab Dodge and we we going to get the 10 ton hut off Lefroy, must have been going warp speed. Then there was the other trip when I think it was you driving the snowmobile dragging an empty trailer and Marcel got run over when he fell off the front. surprised that he didn't have a bunch of broken ribs. None worse for the wear.

  12. Exactly. Misfish posted a link to a video of a guy showing the set-up. If I can find that reply I will re-post it here. But basically your fly is like a drop-shot rig, with a heavier lure a foot or so below it. For Simcoe, maybe a Meegs with an ice bug up 18 inches kind of thing for lakers and whities.

  15. I don't know why they are blaming the price of oil/gas going up on the current state of the world. We should blame our own asylum for not having adequate means of producing and refining.

  16. Miserable buggers, and me than can't do acrobatics or pole vault. I can remember way back there used to be quite a crew there and then just before ice out go crappie fishing in there after dark. used to go smelting by Brentwood marina back in the day too.

  18. I received my last prize today. All I can say is what a work of art this is. This thing spun on it,s own when I just picked it up out of the box.

  20. And how much does this bunch of 20L cans cost to save a few cents? $25 + tax +$28.25 not to forget the cost of gas to drive there and back for 1 20L can. So even if gas goes up .10C a litre, you would have to buy 280 litres just to cover the cost of 1 gas can, and, then don't forget you're burning gas to go to the gas station to fill them up. BTW, I didn't add the cost of stabil either.
