Did up the sons order of balanced jigs as requested. He nailed fish all spring on them,so he asked for a bunch more. He twitches them under a float . Now to get 3 more orders out for his buddies.
Like I said, they work for these guys. They are super bushy, but he trims them to the conditions. I have been told the bushy the better. Reminds me back,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Oh never mind. LOL
A while back my friend gifted me a bunch of Silver Sockeye he caught in Alaska right in the chuck. Bright Silver and the flesh as red/orange as you could ever imagine on the rod I had built him for the trip. However, the last package I had was far to much to consume in a single meal so I decided to try my hand at canning some last week. All went well and I ate one full jar with a fork right out of glass.....delish!
Then yesterday I watched a video about home canning meat and fish. It got me worried about gifting these "canned salmon" to friends as I only used the "water bath" method not having a pressure canning vessel. The worry, Botulism! Canning temperatures needed for meat/fish apparently can not reach the required temps to kill off any potential bacterium that can cause Botulism (I am relatively new at this home canning thing). I'm likely over thinking it but non the less I decided to use it all up and make Fish Cakes this afternoon.
I have to admit, my Fish Cake skills just keep getting better and I truly have no way of expressing just how awesome this batch turned out in words.
I'll just say...... Oh my goodness...........!
PS......I need to get me a propper canning pressure pot.
Sign up on AOMCI (antique outboard motor club)
they have a forum called “ask a member”
you won’t find a better resource forum for old outboard motors than there.
Be careful removing the upper screws until you know which one. IIRC, some old OMC lower units had three screws and one was to position or secure something inside. Removing by mistake made it a real hassle to resemble said item
good luck with your motor, hope it works out
And the winner is....Crestliner!
Built in gas tank. more storage, and better stability (I'm thinking) tipped the scales. As many of you said.....neither a bad choice.
Finally, dealer offered to mount my 10 year old Yamaha 60hp 4 stroke own it, and still buy the 21 year old boat. Actually, this was another minor issue with the Lund. With it, I'd be buying the 50 hp Merc. I really wanted to continue to use my local marina, but, while they work on Mercs, they won't do warranty as the pay from Merc is low.
Thanks to all who chimed in.....I gave thought to all comments.
They wanted some fly's made up to go behind their dodgers and dipsys, so made them some. A couple of tandem hooks and singles. I hate these as they sting me a lot while wrapping and pulling back the feathers . HAHAHAHA
Hear big fish so far is 42 pounds. That is a bigg,n for sure.
