  1. Decided to take my bro fishing on his bday today (sweet 45). My brother, nephew, and I had our sites on Erie, but with an east wind we went with plan B. Trolled for 5 hours and landed 8 (6 Sheepheads and 2 Pike). Highlight was the first 30 seconds of trolling and my nephew landed a nice 32" Sheepshead. My brother and I haven't even put our lines in the water yet. Pike were 28" and 30". Little guys but fun to fight. My brother wasn't getting any luck as the within the last 10 minutes before going home with my nephew catching 4 and me 3 my rod bent over again. I handed the rod to my brother so he could get in on the battle. We call it the pity fish. Every year I always get reminded on how much summer fishing sucks. Boat launch and river was packed and even saw a heated argument at the launch. Good times

  2. Family and I caught a bunch of good jumbos today on Simcoe. man is there a lot more boat traffic then usual… guess people bought boats. Tons of jet skis everywhere, and a bunch of idiots that flew by us when we were sitting and fishing within like 20 feet. The first fish bray reeling in was the 13 inch plus jumbo, his new personal best.

  4. If tour coming up this way, it will be a long line going through Barrie. Both south and north down to 1 lane. Construction paving.

  5. You best get it if you can find it. The company has gone out of business. I grabbed what was left this morning. Will be a sad day when this is all gone.

  8. With the shifts I work I have the luxury of going during the week so I avoid the weekend warrior crowd. I bet the free launch was a nightmare..

  9. Just a heads up, things have really changed in the last few days as they are working on the new highway, the turn off to get onto Hartley Bay Rd, won't show properly on a GPS. I am not sure if the French River Trading Post is open anymore, the new 4 lane Highway is going to drastically reduce their business but there were a bunch of cars there today.

  10. Wd40 killed the plastic grips on my wiss snips. Made them swell and rubbery. Wouldn’t stay put on the handles. I used to spray my hand tools when they got wet to keep them from rusting.

  11. Well then the same could be said for rollers. Adequately sized tie downs prevent any unscheduled launchings. I go to the boat launch for entertainment on saturdays and sundays. If I had a longer range lens, I could probably make some hilarious videos. Best I ever saw was a Mario backing up, jack knifed and drove his stainless prop right through the next guys truck door.

  12. No thanks. I've seen a guy with the slides on his bunks hit the brakes at a quick yellow light and the whole boat pushed his winch post right off the trailer and thru the back windshield of his SUV. Seen a boat slide off the trailer after leaving a stop sign when the winch strap snapped. Seen several boats slide off the trailer at the ramp, before they were in the water. I will stick to my long carpeted bunks, thanks. If your having trouble winching the boat on the trailer, get a bigger winch. Simple. S.

  13. A local Crappy Tire store here in Oshawa I deal with has done a work around for the few things I have needed. You go to the store garden centre with the part# for what you want. Give it to the person in the garden center and they go into the store themselves and grab it for you. Have did this twice now and haven't spent more then 5 minutes waiting for them to find my stuff and bring it to me.
