  2. Well I wouldn't call myself a "wood worker" but I did make a lot of sawdust when I built these cabinets in my man cave. The fishing rod locker was a tough one, getting 4 slides to all work in conjunction was a chalange the tolerance is 1/16" on one set. I didn't have table saws and things like that, everything had to be done with power hand tools.

  3. You need to look for a group 35 battery (External battery size and post configuration). The next thing to look for is the cold cranking amps (CCA) . Your CRV needs/wants a minimum of 440 CCA for starting power. Also check what the reserved capacity (RC) is of the battery. RC is what the battery voltage would/should be after a two hour drain of 25 amps (Headlight left on) and not fall lower then 10.5 volts. 10.5 volts will still get you started as long as everything else is equal. The higher RC the better. Please only start comparing pricing, after you know that you're comparing apples to apples. There are a lot of batteries out there that look the same to the eye, even from the same manufacturer. Check the specs on the battery you decide to buy. If you have any other questions; please ask. If I don't know the answer; I'll reach out to my contacts in the automotive field and get you an answer. Dan.

  4. I was impressed by the Costco warranty, not sure if they miscalculated but I got about 50% towards a new one and I swear it was 6 years old .

  5. License free fishing on Valentine's Day. And a long weekend to boot. If it wasn't for Covid, this could have been the more romantic weekend ever...

  7. Here in the states there are only a few companies that make car batteries, and they " brand " them for other sellers.

  12. 3300 or 3400hrs on the last Yammy 60. Changed an impellor once and plugs a couple times. Didn't go easy on it, never fogged it, twice a year in for its gen maintenance. Keep in touch with the kid who bought and beats it trailering dirt roads up around Hearst. Three full seasons and running like a top. Recently walked the shoreline while up here in Grise Fiord at the top of the world. Saw an Evinrude, the rest were Yamaha. Most in Nunavut order their motors from Montreal to come up on sea lifts. They could order ANYTHING yet everywhere ya go it's like 5 or 10 to 1 Yamahas over everything else. Hondas a second choice but they're cold starts are said to be more temperamental. Ocean goers want dependability, it's life or death, so I guess they'll choose to pay that little more for a Yamaha. Wonder how many times these threads have come up and how many times Yamaha's been top choice? Not to say other motors are bad... they're just not as good. lol.

  14. Pork loins were on at a great price last week so I picked one up. Looking to try something different this time so I decided to try making my own schnitzel and I'm sure happy I did. I ended up with with 14 slabs that after trimming I put in a gallon ziplock two at a time and pounded them down to 1/4" slabs with a rubber mallet. Spiced up the flour with salt, fresh ground pepper and my own smoked paprika. Added a bunch of worcestershire to the egg and milk mix and then used my own smoked bread crumbs. Added fresh rosemary sprigs to the oil/butter mix on low heat for a few minutes and then removed them before cranking the heat up and a quick fry at 3 minutes one side then flip and 2 minutes on the other side. Boy did they ever turn out good, tender and moist with great flavour, store bought ones have nothing on these. 8 of them are now vacuum sealed in 3 packs and frozen for a quick meal in the future. So I got 14 of them for $8 worth of meat, can't beat that for quality and value. Didn't take a pic of the finished product but they turned out with a nice dark brown crispy coating from the smoked bread crumbs. Definitely will do again. Cheers

  15. If you like a few meals of fish every once and awhile, you should try Bluegills. Just as good (IMO) as walleye or perch. Plus you'll be surprised at how much meat these flat buggers give up after cleaning them. Dan.
